American Airlines - 777 200ER - Business Class - Miami (MIA) to New York (JFK) | TRIP REPORT

- Опубликовано: 22 янв 2023
- American's Flagship Business Class is one of the best premium seats in our skies! I was lucky enough to catch it on a repositioning flight from Miami to New York. This flight was sold as "Domestic First Class" and the soft product (meals, amenities) represented that.
American Airlines is the largest airline in the world when measured by fleet size, scheduled passengers carried, and revenue passenger mile. They currently operate over 900 mainline aircraft across 350 destinations. I used to love flying with them until they merged with US Airways about a decade ago. Since then I've noticed a drop in quality as they retained much of US Airways administration and corporate structure. Thankfully one of the areas that remained great is the First/Business class!
The 777 has been a staple in American's long-haul fleet for over two decades, and the fleet of 67 777-200ER/300ERs will begin to get retrofitted for the new Flagship Suite product, with older aircraft getting replaced for the 787-9.

This aircraft, N754AN was the same aircraft involved in the ground incursion at JFK.
Wow I’m not sure how I missed that piece of information, thanks for letting us know!
Wow, it is. Though it was a near miss
Your dead on dude
Not a “near miss”. It was a a near collision. The term “near miss” is airline and aviation gobbledegook. The two aircraft came close to colliding, not close to missing each other. If you come close to missing something, then you collided with it. PS. Great video of a really high standard - as per your usual offerings. Thank you.
@@juliusnepos6013 it’s still called a runway incursion
You know the legroom is forever when Quintin's shoes could barely reach the end! I've flown on one of these seats in their 777 as well, they're pretty nice.

Thank you for sharing your trip. That was good you were sitting forward way.
I flew on this exact same aircraft (N754AN) from Tel Aviv (TLV) to New York (JFK) once in economy class. Great video!
Have flown AA’s 777-200’s in Biz frequently on the DFW-HNL-DFW routes. Last couple years, they sell them as “Flagship Business” so you get access to Flagship Lounge which is a nice perk. Agree, the BEA Super Diamond seats are superior. AA will start retiring the 777-200’s as they take more deliveries of the 787-900 ‘s. Beautiful vlog as always. Thanks.
I met Quintin on a flight from Toronto to Miami. Super nice guy! An articulate and well round young man. Clearly had a passion for this channel.
Really high quality vlog, so kudos, thumbs up and thanks for the fabulous ride!
Great video! I love the cinematic during pushback, climb and approche. The 777 is my favourite plane.
love your choice of music
Great review. And I agree with your assessment of Miami IA. I've had to travel through there a few times and never had a pleasant experience.
Great take off jazz, relaxing music 🎶.
Nice job with the cinematography on this one Quinton. Very well done!
Thanks a lot Brad! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 🎥
Another great trip report 👍🏼
okay that was a stunning sunset departure 🤩
It really was! 🌅
Look forward to seeing more content from you, keep up the good stuff 👍 also what a beautiful sunset 🤩
Love your flight reports Quintin. Keep it up!
Thanks a ton! More to come!
@@QFSAviation Looking forward to!
Beautiful vlog and great new year!! To fly along the coast practically and then to have an Airbus A380 Singapore fly over?! Wow very very nice. Please keep coming out with more vlogs!!
Finally the right music to take off on, great vid .
At moment 2:32, on the left side of the screen, you can see a small portion of this hotel Clarion Inn & Suites in the far distance. Depending on the room you choose, you can have breathtaking views of Miami International Airport.
Good to know! Thank you , I might stay here next time!
Your opening and closing sequences are the best of any RUclipsr. Thanks for sharing your flight with us. At least on Delta airlines wifi will be free if you're part of a frequent flyer program starting February 1st 2023.
I was getting 150Mbps for $5 on a Delta flight a few weeks ago. Meanwhile JL & NH struggle to offer more than 1Mbps at $30.
Thanks QFS !!!
Thanks for another great flight report
I’m glad you enjoyed it! 😁
Beautifull flight report! Liked and subscribed 🙌
I've gone back & watched a bunch of your trip reports, Quintin, & they're extremely well done from a visual as well as an overall presentation. I especially enjoy the lack of audio commentary - you simply add some notes that the viewer might find interesting or informative & let the video speak for itself. Far too many of your colleagues on YT feel the need to yap on incessantly for the entire trip, so your approach is refreshing. I'm kind of old-school that way - I'd rather watch a football game with no sound than listen to Collinsworth spout off the whole time. Looking forward to what you have in the pipeline, including when you make it back up to YT.
I prefer that too! Feels like I'm there!
Really loved this one, Quintin! I’ve been meaning to try this product. Safe travels!
Thanks Zsolt! Hope to see you soon man how are you?
Nice ✈
Excellent trip report! I’ve never been on an AA 777
Nice music just before landing!
Nice video. Loved the nighttime views from one of your windows from Miami all the way to NYC. Considering the age of the aircraft used by AA, not surprising that it looked like it had seen better days. Have flown once on AA back in 2005 - YYZ (Toronto Pearson)-ORD (Chicago O'Hare)-LAS (McCarran Las Vegas) and it was crazy both ways. Our luggage on the outbound flight did not make the transfer to the flight to LV so we had to wait for the next incoming AA flight. The inbound flight to Toronto through Chicago left late due to a mechanical issue and our connection was missed. Ended up catching a United flight back to Toronto where our luggage would not arrive for another 5 hours. After that escapade, my spouse and I agreed on two things: 1) No more connecting flights on domestic travels, and 2) No more flying AA.
Awesome sunset 🌆 shot out of MIA! I used to work Ground for COEX at the TYS Station. One of our Supervisors suggested we should ride the Headstart to IAH,(an ERJ-145), and connect to the 777 Repo flight ✈️🤑 up to EWR Enjoy a great onboard Lunch 🤠😎 and ride the evening 🌆 ERJ back down to TYS! A great way to spend your day off and have a great Lunch to boot!
That’s awesome! Wow man if I had nonrev privileges I’d do that exact same thing! What a great way to spend a Saturday. You could even grab dinner in New York before you head back South
@@QFSAviation Yeah Sometimes we'd go up to EWR on Day Trainings for various Recerts(De icing Ticketing) in Ops on the Airport then ride back on the RON Aircraft.Used to get out to LAX for 20.00RT Did some great 👍😀 Plane Spotting! A real kick! Also the Airliners Memorabilia Shows were really fun 😊!
I recognized you since your videos posting under 18. I have flown with AA when emigrated to MIA for the first time
WOW That flight attendant at the boarding door was AS COLD AS ICE! can you at least smile??? But You Quintin are always corteous and respectful with lots of please and thank yous!!!! Another great trip report!
AA staff haven't smiled since the 1980's. I think it says zero smiling in the contract.
When your trying to talk with MX Control and the FAs are so loud you have to go outside the pla e to talk
Good job 👍
5:39 Of course my favorite shot
Good work on these videos qfs
You know its a good day when QFS posts
Scan boarding pass, politely ask gate agent "how are you?" *Silence*
30 seconds later board plane as business class passenger, no greeting from FA, politely ask "how are you?" "Hey." Flying AA sure seems nice! lmao
Excellent report as usual. Just a mention: The guy putting his carryon on the lverhead bin when boarding the airplane is the Mexican singer: Jesus Navarro from the mexican band: Reik
Wow that’s awesome! Nice catch I didn’t know that! Super cool 🎵
Btw, great footage ! 📽
Wow.. this is the same aircraft registration that took me to doha AA120 on 10 January. after you’ve arrived from Miami
That’s awesome!!!! I saw that it was headed that way right after cool to see u were on it!
@@QFSAviation thanks 🙏🏻! Actually this flight i flew on to doha from New York was actually great and surprisingly good 👍🏻 and it was really really packed flight! PS: as always your trip reports is hit so good!
All support to you from Qatar 🇶🇦 ❤
Dude is so good at capturing the experience. Love the music too. Can you share that awesome piano funk jazz source?
Like your Jaguars shirt.
DUUVALLL!!!!
It'd be nice if AA offered more 777s to fly domestic routes. I flew on a 787-8 from ORD to Miami in October 2021.. The extra space on a double isle plane makes the flight more pleasant.
19:24 Woah you mentioned that incident and interestingly enough several days later the very aircraft Quentin was in was one of those involved
It’s quite interesting! I didn’t realize my aircraft was the one involved until someone clarified. Thank god everything was okay the night of that incident 🙏
@@QFSAviation Indeed, also thanks for the heart! I really like your trip reports and I am invested into it ever since discovering it earlier last year. I am also in the middle of a long trip today on a bus and your trip reports led me to be more appreciative of services provided
damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn quintin your trip reports are always the W
Thanks bro!!
3:12 - Most of those 47 AA 777s are flying to Europe and back and Asia and back, my guess is that 40 of the 47 are doing so, maybe 42 of the 47.
I believe that the European destinations are London, Paris, Rome, Frankfurt, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Madrid, Amsterdam, and Vienna. And the Asian are Tokyo, Beijing, Seoul, Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Singapore
Kinda cool flying up the Atlantic Coast of the U.S.
the photography in this video is just stunning, from the sunset departure to the New York skyline arrival. And you got to love the sliding camera and sliding Coke (zero) with ice!! the little stickers are a cool new (i think) feature. also enjoy that 360 view. I would grade this video as A+....with a well done Quebec Foxtrot Sierra!!! And to anyone watching who is not subscribed please hit the sub button!!!
I missed the hot weather in Mía instead of cold in the northeast
Great video! 1:38 in and an ad already!! Come on RUclips that’s ridiculous 🤬
I heard MIA D Concourse is basically DTW but train is on the outside instead of inside the concourse
2:34 that Martinair suffered a hard landing last month, it's flaps were heavily damaged, the Flap Track Fairings cracked and a damaged landing gear. I work at Amsterdam Freight and I heard it might be damaged beyond repair
Wow I didn’t know this! That’s crazy unfortunate… I hope it isn’t written off 😢
3:04 especially noted at the height of the pandemic, more so since they retired the 757, 767, and A330s, leaving with just 777s or 787s for these types of hub-hub routes.
That seems a long boarding. What was that delay related to? I heard him mention something but I swear it was related to a food cart?
Thanks for sharing the trip report dude... Well, the west showed most of the Middle Eastern countries the ropes as how to launch, manage and maintain airlines and air traffic, but paradoxically enough, AA and many other airlines in the U.S. and Europe need to be trained by Qatar Airways, Emirates Airlines, Turkish Airlines and such; the fleet quality, catering, IFE & etc in the AA can't even get somewhere near the airlines I mentioned.
AA absolutely DOES have a priority security checkpoint in MIA D. Not sure how you missed it but if you entered at door 10 maybe you didn't get that far. It used to be co-located with TSA precheck, which made it a total clusterf**k, but they fixed that last year and split them up. Non-AA Oneworld Sapphires + Emeralds have access to the Flagship Lounge regardless of destination/class, and the FL at MIA is great. Sapphire is pretty easy to attain on BA or IB if you live in the US and fly paid domestic F regularly. The real problems with AA's operation at MIA are (i) the cabin crew - by far the worst in their network, and (ii) the people staffing the non-priority check-in area are badly in need of an attitude adjustment.
Did you see iTripReport while in Miami???
Ночные виды городов особенно хорошо получились. 👍✈️🇷🇺
Could you make a trip report on emirates economy class please
No lounge, no fast track, no priority, no anything...
I'd surely go for Economy if this is the Business product.
😀👍
Reverse ops takeoff at Miami interesting
4:47 I had to stop and say something. From the grunge that is MIA, to the totally inappropriate announcement at the gate, I shook my head. But what set me off was the 'Hi' greeting from the little waitress with an attitude when you boarded. Don't check your boarding pass, don't make eye contact. She's obviously far too important to do anything like that. I once went off on the purser boarding a NW flight in Amsterdam for this.
You couldn't throw up the Seahawk logo for UNCW?!
American Airlines already needs new seat upgrades on their 777 business class seats
My experience with AA is that they're a definite notch below DL and UA when it comes to the hard product and inflight service. The airline isn't particularly well run and the customer isn't treated all that well.
American Airlines is a corporate mess. They should've never taken on the US Airways administration during that merger, because they ruined what was a great airline.
@@QFSAviation TBH I don't remember AA being much better before the merger. I was just a kid and didn't pay much attention to airline hard products and such, but I remember that AA pre-merger was nothing to write home about, and that Delta and British Airways (the 2 airlines I flew most as a kid) were much better.
Since it was January 9th all the Christmas decorations were being taken down until November
In 2021 lots of flights were used as domestic wide bodies so those planes could stay in service, COVID restrictions to European and Asia/Pacific Countries, and high demand for certain hub and leisure routes
Is your flight delayed? Because the sunset was approaching
lovely trent 800 growl ❤
It’s honestly amazing 😻
I was wondering how such a young travel blogger could afford to do so many trips despite having a relatively new viewer base (mostly because I was interested in getting started myself). But after some googling I found out who his dad was and my jaw hit the floor and everything made sense😂 nonetheless great trip report and keep up the great work Quintin.
HI QUINTIN
Do you know when aeroflot is flying back to russia from usa?
I heard security at Miami is trash especially with several different terminals with no unified central security concourses leading to long lines
Cold nuts! Oh no! 😏
No lounge access, check in fiasco, backward facing seats and the poor looking interior are not my idea of first class travel.
Otherwise a nice review Quintin. Glad the flight was uneventful.😀💚
I gotta agree with you on that one. It’s pretty disappointing they wouldn’t include lounge access for this flight. Thank u for the kind words!
@@QFSAviation And I used to work for American Airlines and received first class service. Of course I always sat in first class.😀💚
Good you should’ve! You deserved it man 🙌
@@QFSAviation Thank you Quintin😀💚
Take the amtrak train from New York to Florida
That’s so funny you say this! I drove past the Delray Beach Amtrak station yesterday and the thought popped in my mind to ride it up to New York. I just might do it!
I thought Philadelphia is American Airlines main transatlantic hub and JFK is second
They are still celebrating Xmas due to ornaments on the top
I’ve been flying American since 1973. Yep, I’m old! Their product has been crap for decades. When they merged with USAir, as my adult son phrased it, “Two s__t airlines are now one s__t airline.” I avoid them whenever possible.
Next time preorder your meal when flying first or business class
Houston Bush probably then only other airport with lots of flights to Central America and the Caribbean but Miami Caribbean, Houston Bush Central America
"Welcome to New York City, where all are welcome" Not red sox fans tho
you are so cute ❤
and a chaotic cabin design, for me never American Airlines!
JFK Airport has poor layouts to its runways. Need to prevent collisions on runways and avoid the Tenerife Disaster again
Waste of points or money to fly First or business class on any flight under 3 hours..Most 777-200 has been updated with more space 1-2-1 layout and much more comfortable..I am flying United Polaris next month,MCO-IAD-CDG on the 777-200...I could have flown AA,but would not fly out of MIA..it's the worst airport along with JFK...and i wanted to experience The Polaris lounge at IAD since i have a 4:20 layover..It's not just AA that don't allow First class passenger to use the lounge, most US carriers do and even if you fly to some Caribbean Islands, they won't...but you can buy a day pass, which makes no sense, since you are paying 2-3 times or even more for your ticket..Nice of AA to serve a full dinner on such a short flight...That's something United don't do..
I’m sure the flight was expensive and it looked underwhelming to be honest.
✝️✡
The first flight attendant didn't even make eye-contact with you lol in my opinion, what a terrible airline.
You must be a wealthy young man if you can afford to travel in business for that short duration. I hope AA never uses this scraped up 777 to Europe. You cant charge 4000$ for a ticket and present a cabin like this. The rest seemed to be ok for me.
🇺🇲🇺🇲🛫🛬✈️🛩️🧑✈️💺🧳🌐✈️✈️🛩️❤️💘👍🤗😁😀
very poor service from American Airlines: no priority, no lounge! why should you ever fly business class?
THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS WILL WIN THE SUPER BOWL!!!
Looks like a load of all fur coats and no knickers Dreadfully bad
Please talk and show your face more. You could be more popular than ANY airplane.
Dammnnn, FAA should check those planes of AA. Not good at all. Bet the ticket was alittle pricey still you don't get privacy to have a door on your seat😬😬😬😬
