Always watched on a Saturday morning along with the Banana Splits and Shari Lewis before meeting my Grandmother in the local town centre with my Mother (about 1971) to do some shopping and a visit to my local model shop. The theme a classic kids tv memory.
Gosh, I didn't know Doughnut had died. Got a blast of sadness there... I saw the série on French TV in 72 (aged 12) and Gillian Bailey will forever be the first girl I ever was attracted to.
I can hardly remember what I did yesterday... but the amazing 'Double Deckers' theme song is still as fresh in my mind as ever. One of my favourite kids tv shows of all time and like in many of the comments Gillian Bailey was also probably my first tv crush as a young boy. 😊
Wow, thx for the memories. This programme was one of my faves as a kid, and along with a few others, was compulsive viewing after coming home from school. Kudos to you. Liked and subbed.
From Google 'The film stars Reg Varney and is set in a film studio. Evidently, Here Come the Double Deckers is one of the shows in production within the fiction of the film. Unfortunately the original stuffed tiger prop had been lost shortly after filming had been completed on the series, so a lookalike had to be used.'

Moi non. Plus je ne savais pas que donut était mort le pauvre
It was nice to " get onboard " , again for 5 minutes, after all these years. Many thanks!

Happy, happy childhood memories from a time when I hadn't yet tasted grief, sorrow and regret. Poor Donut - he died prematurely.
One important character was missing : Albert, played by Melvyn Hayes. Still among the living, according to his Wikipedia page.
I knew somebody would mention him. Technically, he wasn’t in the main cast. I had to draw the line somewhere. Sorry.
Thank you for sharing this ❤ 🚌
you got me hooked on this channel. Enjoying immensely
I love all of your little clips down memory lane as I was born in 1962, plus your choice of background music is always so bloody catchy!?🙂👍

Hi Richard, the music is from the RUclips copyright free music library. It is called Sweet as Honey by Topher Mohr and Alex Elena.
