This is an inferior description of the Swedish culinary world. There are a lot of generalizations. There are so many more dimensions to this kitchen. It sounds like it's a child describing their local knowledge. Let the south tip of Sweden be the center for a compass. Make a circle with a radius equal to the distance from south to North. The circle is going to touch Rome in the far south. Describe the food scene in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czechia, Croatia, and Italy in 9 min. That's what you are doing here regarding Sweden. Fewer people live in the North, but the flavors are there. Ex. Raggmunkar is a dish in the south. There are variations made with potatoes throughout the country. It's never called Raggmunk. The pictures of the Smörgåsbord look like it's taken at a pot-luck party...sample, bread is always served separately. Why am I even bothering to write? Well...I firmly believe that the generalizations like this are diluting our cultures. Just because someone found a subject that they think is easy to write about. In this case, they are so wrong.

I know swedish is a hard language, but some research on how to pronounce the names of the meals, like asking i don’t know a swedish person 🤷‍♀️ would’ve been a good thing…

Scandinavian/Swedish food is far from simple... And I am disappointed in the choices made in what to showcase. I would say it is one of the more unique cuisines in Europe. It definitely rivals French and Italian any day.

Not really anymore. It is more of a tradition in Iceland, Greenland and Faroe Islands (not geographically part of Scandinavia)..Even in Northern Canada and Alaska they eat whale..... Where food is very scarce at winter certain times.
