Recently, anime stores have been booming here, making it a must-visit destination for anime fans. I’ll be exploring 7 awesome stores that you’ve got to check out: Animate, AmiAmi, Surugaya, Lashinbang, Book Off, the Pokémon Center in Sunshine City, and Mandarake. I hope you enjoy this tour and the content.
    I have included some prices converted from Japanese Yen to US Dollars, so please use them as a reference since the values may change over time.

    Mandarake LaLaLa near Sunshine City, or Mandarake Nayuta, which is near the station and may be what you were showing? I'll probably stop at both when I go there.

      Hi! You’re correct! The one I visited is Mandarake Nayuta, which is near the station and specializes in figures and toys. I didn’t have enough time to visit the other Mandarake store, but I hope to check it out soon. If you have time, I defenitely recommend you to visit both. Thanks for watching!

    Book off looks great! Are there any others you would recommend in Tokyo from your personal expirience?

      Thank you so much! It’s great to be back! 😊 In my opinion, the Book Off locations in Shinjuku or Akihabara are great options. If you have time, I’d also recommend visiting a Book Off Super Bazaar they’re much bigger, but usually located a bit farther out.

    Thank you. Tokyo is tchotchke heaven. Minor suggestion: For people who have never been there, it may be easier to walk down the main boulevard of Ikebukuro, as everything stems from that street. Exit 34/35 Central-East Gate.

      @4kjapanspace07  20 дней назад

      Hi! AmiAmi, Surugaya, and Lashinbang are very close to Animate. As for Book Off and the Pokémon Center, they are about a 5 to 10-minute walk and a 16-minute walk from Animate, respectively. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching.

    Hi! Thank you for this helpful video! I was just wondering where is the entrance to the Lashinbang on the 2nd floor? Thank you!

    • @4kjapanspace07
      @4kjapanspace07  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi! As shown at the 6:28 mark in the video, go to the entrance of the building with the blue-magenta sign (next to animate building) that says “2F らしんばん 池袋キャラパレス フィギュア アニメグッズ,” which in English means “2F Lashinbang Ikebukuro Character Palace Figures and Anime Goods”. Once inside, take the stairs up to the second floor, where you’ll find the store entrance! Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!

      @@4kjapanspace07 Thank you for this! It can be overwhelming because I see the sign but I don't really see the entrance. I'm just scared of entering another establishment or that I'm not supposed to be there😅Again, thank you! I'll be staying in Ikebukuro area for my trip next year 🥰

      @4kjapanspace07  2 месяца назад +1

      @@tokyonnichiwa I totally get that! 😊 Some entrances can be tricky to find, especially with so many signs around. But don’t worry most stores are really welcoming to visitors, so you’re not likely to wander into the wrong spot. Enjoy your time in Ikebukuro next year; you’re going to have an amazing trip!

    Thanks for the video and it's true that Ikebukuro is undergoing a big evolution in figure and gadget shops but for now it's far from Akihabara especially there are shops dedicated mainly to girls see for example Amiami in Ikebukuro.

    • @4kjapanspace07
      @4kjapanspace07  3 месяца назад +2

      Hi! You’re absolutely right! While Ikebukuro is becoming more popular, it’s still quite different from Akihabara. However, it’s evolving quickly! A few months ago, I visited the BOOK OFF, and this time around, I noticed a lot of new stores. As you mentioned, there are now shops dedicated to Korean idols, especially for female fans, I saw many K-Books as well. Who knows? Maybe in the near future, Ikebukuro will really become a place like Akihabara. I hope so! Thanks for watching!

      Hi! Unfortunately, as shown in the video, the figure was sold out, so there wasn’t a price listed. However, I just checked the AmiAmi website, and it looks like it's sold out there as well, but the price was 4,888 JPY. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

    Do any of these places sell stuff like display stands by chance?

    • @4kjapanspace07

      Great question! In my understanding some stores, like Animate and AmiAmi, often have display stands and accessories for figures. It’s always worth checking, as the stock can vary. Hope that helps!

      Hi! I recently visited the Yodobashi Camera (6F) in Akihabara and saw some new Mazinger Z action figures from Tamashii Nations priced around 13,000 JPY. You can also check out the Tamashii Nations store near JR Akihabara Station. For second-hand figures in Akihabara, Mandarake and Surugaya are good options. I also recommend considering a visit to Nakano Broadway. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!
