Its so strange how a RUclipsr can be 10000x better than my college professor who claims to speak 6 languages at teaching in a 9 minute video. (We have 2 hour classes) Muchas gracias!
99 Richness It' s not the same to know about a subject than know how to teach . The worst maths teacher I had was a former cathedratic. He was smart but terrible for teaching
@maruxa cabaleiro saco I know what you mean! Being at a charter school (me) means your teachers don't need a degree in teaching, just in the subject they are teaching in. (*cough *cough *engineering class *cough *cough)
I like his videos much more than those by native Spanish speakers on RUclips who tell us that a concept is so very simple but to an English speaker makes no literal sense. I feel there's nothing wrong about getting mad about how confusing languages are and Spanish is full of "Why? What? Huh?" moments for me.
I teach high school Spanish and this is a concept that tends to confuse students. I think I'll show this video because I like the way you show both sets of pronouns - subject and direct object - to help the viewer/learner avoid confusion. And I'm subscribing as well in hopes of using other videos of yours. Thanks for taking the time to make these! :D
Lenora Wilkinson My pleasure! Sorry for the slow reply. I'm glad you like the video. I have a whole series about this direct/indirect/double--along with reflexive and verbs like gustar. You can see all the pronoun videos on one page here: gringoespanol.com/quickie-category/pronouns/
I'm just starting to learn this but it may help to sort of translate the sentences 'literally' at first in the sense that you help students see a greater pattern. In this case, "Carlos te presenta" "Carlos you introduces" or "Lo presentas" "Him you introduce" Not correct, but it could help people recognize how they should place the words for actual translation
I've got a Spanish teacher with a Scottish accent that hasn't taught me shit all year, you did more in 9 minutes than she did in a semester, thank you so much.
Sir, I wish you all the happiness, peace and well-being in this life. I am serious. You are providing a BRILLIANT channel which is open to millions of learners all around the globe. May god bless you.
Absolutely love how simplistic and straightforward this is! awesome video man. IfI could suggest, I think it would be helpful if you pronounced the Spanish words with more of a spanish accent, more importantly while saying the sentences. Us gringos will connect the dots :)
You are such a brilliant Teacher though your quick but it´s so clear to understand and unlucky to those poor in english. I am from the Philippines who are starving for spanish language/grammar and your videos helps me a lot and I love your T-shirts! gracias maestro! God bless you.. :)
Love your teaching style. It really helps that you were a native english speaker. You understand how our minds work when trying to wrap your mind around a concept. It is a great help!
I really appreciate (and mightily enjoy) your style of teaching. Straightforward, energetic, and effective! Please keep up the good work! You're helping me learn Spanish at lightning speed! Many thanks!
Christian French I'm so glad to hear it! Thanks! Make sure you're subscribed, I have lots of new videos coming out soon on the past. First one is posted already: ruclips.net/video/3nVHhqblh88/видео.html
I’m a person who took about 6 years of Spanish training in school and the rest was self taught by moving to a Spanish speaking region! You videos help me SOOOOO much to clear up confusion WOWWWWWW I owe you dude! Thanks!
I do hope it is possible to be understood whilst having a rather heavy "English" accent.. I am British and my Spanish pronunciation is very ugly. I cannot for the life of me make the "rr" sound and that is just the start of it! I do hope that I will be understood!
alberto sobieski your a legend. I already new how to roll my “rr”s but doing this, I couldn’t say row without making the “rr” sound. I wish someone told me this when I was trying to roll my “r”s.
I am learning so much from you! I have been learning Spanish from Duolingo for four years and I spend a couple hours every day learning. I just watched this video of yours direct object pronouns in Spanish compared to subject pronouns and you made this so clear. I have to watch it a second and third time because you talked so fast that well, I just have to watch it again!
I do not know if this is an issue or not. There is a TON of outstanding Spanish on youtube, and your charisma and down to earth speaking style, that often puts warning signs up early (ie, "this is confusing", "this often is a stumbling block", "I found this difficult" etc) is really helpful. It forces to bear down mentally in anticipation, and gives us encouragement to not beat ourselves up, making you one of the best. I am signing up. (Sorry for the run on sentence! I'm a native English speaker, so I have no excuse) I find the rapidity forces me to watch it 3 times. That's probably a good thing.
I honestly love how you break down the Spanish language. I tutor Spanish, French, and English. I learn a fair bit about how to teach better by watching your videos. Muchas gracias!
Your videos are the best! I think your speed of talking is great! And love your pace easy enough to push pause if too fast and i do to practice during clip but if too slow is way more annoying. Please keep it the exact same!!! I love it. You give away so much free stuff which i love as well so many dont give free worksheets
I will be taking the Spanish Clep test soon and I'm hoping these videos will help. I've tried other websites and bought books but it doesn't feel like it's really sticking. Your method of teaching seems simple, quick and effective!
I just wanted to say thank you so much for making these videos! I'm a sophmore in high school and I'm currently studying for my midterms, and one of my big midterms is spanish. I have ADHD so it can be hard for my just to read online stuff to help me get the infromation stuck in my brain, and I'm more of a visual learner. So again, thank you so much your videos are making it much easier for me to study for my spanish midterm!
Man thanks I've been trying to learn to speak Spanish conversationally for a couple years, you're so right about adjectives being easier because you can think of it after. This always screws me up!!
English's not my native language, but your lessons help me a lot. So you help not only to those who 'speak your language' and I must say you're awesome! ¡Mushas gracias para su trabajo!
Hello again Jordan, Well I'm down here on my 5 week trip in Peru. I can't tell you how much your videos are helping. I go back and watch the same ones over and over and even when I thought I understood something you taught, I always get something new out of the videos. The light bulbs continue to flash on. I am glad I'm a forever gringo and am thankful for your enthusiasm. Wish you the best. Emily
I have tried to understand this for so long and used babel and my spanish teachers to help explain it and i could never get my head around it... however I watch your 9 minute video and understand it completely ! Thank you for this video you have saved me for my Spanish exams!!!
¡Hola, Buenos Días Profesor! Me llamo Zulkifli. Yo soy de Malasia. Estoy estudiando español . Mucho gusto. Me necesito aprenderlo. Me gusta usted canal.
this is my first video watching you, and I already know this now! Thank You so much! Im falling behind in spanish, my teacher isn't very good at explaining, and this totally helped. im going to go back to the other videos and catch up with my class. Thank you again!
Dude I am not the best at spanish, but dude i watched this video, took at test, thought to myself "lets see how bad i did" and i got a 90. Dude you just saved my life with this video. You also just earned a subscription. Thanks

I feel like have watched all your videos multiple times. Each time I get something I missed the previous time. huge thanks for all this knowledge. Also I highly recommend your lifetime membership to anyone who's on the fence.
Awesome...I can't believe I've never seen your channel before today, Jordan. I am an American (US) living in Costa Rica. I do speak Spanish, but I need more knowledge of the language, particularly in areas like reflexive verbs, conjugations, and sentence construction. I love your videos, and am subscribed to your YT channel and newsletter. I look forward to learning more from you. Thank you for your work.
TheWordprophet Sorry for no reply before now. Thank you so much! I'm glad you like my videos! How have things been going in CR for the last 5 months? Improving?
+Gringo Español Yes, thank you...but I must say that I have not been diligent to study as I ought to. But simply being immersed in the culture has caused me to learn quite a bit. However, that is not a substitute for studying, which I need to apply myself to do more of. Thank you for your videos, and keep up the good work. Also, please be encouraged to visit my channel. I am a Christian, and a teacher.
I completed every lesson in Rosetta Stone with 100%. Twice. Then I tackled Duolingo. Every level, every story, every podcast. Nothing clicked. Until you. I don't have words to express my gratitude. I'm bingeing every video and then I'll buy everything you're selling. 😄
Ahhh, thank you! I'm so glad to hear that! I love that I can help you. Clarity feels so good. I know how bad it feels to be confused. The more clarity you get on certain things, the more clarity you'll get on other things. I'll like filling in pieces to a puzzle. Good luck!
This is so hard to understand. I'm not going to lie. I had to watch this video several times to really understand it but you broke it down and gave the best explanation I've ever heard for this. Muchas gracias!
All of your videos are great but THIS one is easily the most informative and educational one I have watched so far. This concept was certainly the one I have struggled with most while trying to learn the language informally. Great video!!
Me encantaaa!
Our class didn't have our unit test for this concept (IOP and DOP) because the class didnt understand and then she showed us this video and all of our doubts were solved. Thank you =D
Glad I found you. You're concise with your lessons without the unnecessary "filler words" which bore me and cause me to move on. You're brilliant. Thanks! Sincerely, A New Subscriber :-D
these videos you make are just amazing!! very catchy and can't get bored. Thank you so much for the spanish videos here. Oh, and i personally like the fast-paced flow of the video by cutting every possible silent parts, which really makes the viewers focus! concentrate on the clips. Nice move!! ^-----^b
Eunjin Park Gracias! Thank you so much. I'm glad you like the videos and the style I use! It's not for everybody, but you can't please everybody. Thanks for the great comments. I am in Mexico for the next 6 weeks, so stay tuned for some real life Spanish videos in the coming weeks.
Gringo Español I will definately stay tuned until i master all your videos here. I am not going anyway. haha~ actually the original reason i started learning Spanish was for traveling all over Latin America next year, but now it's getting more than just learning some traveling dialogues, it's become the main source of my passion and I feel lucky to find ur videos here. Keep up the good work Gringo. Cheers!! ;-)
That's the best thing you could have said. I love to hear it!!! Spanish has been the most fun thing I've done over a fifteen year period. Very closely tied to traveling and knowing other places and cultures. Cool. Really glad to have you here.
wow, I'm so glad to hear from you again with all these encouraging feedbacks of yours^----^ it's always great to have sth to pour your passion into. especially sth worth that much attention. By the way, how high should the level of DELE be for someone wanting to get a job(translation related)? B1 wouldn't be enough, right?
Eunjin Park Sorry for the slow reply this time. I'm really ignorant about that stuff. I've never taken a Spanish test of any kind. I just travel and talk and study on my own. Sorry!
Thanks for the lesson mate! I'm taking spanish classes here in Germany (I am German) and my teacher explains everything too quickly, but with the help of your video I'm able to catch up.
Loool this video is old but oh man thank you so much for your videos. I wish I could teach people the way you do. I’m doing Spanish at school right now but I would love to speak fluently one day. Your videos make the grammar so freaking easy! Thank you!
This is my second video of yours I am watching and so far YOU ARE AWESOME and love your sense of humor! Now, I haven't finished this video so I hope by the end this sh*t makes more sense. I am using Duolingo (previously Rosetta Stone) and the harder this language gets the more I want to quit...again...but THANK YOU SO MUCH for being there and explaining things ♥
Gringo Español Do you have any tips for this problem below? Currently, I have had two years of a not so good/ disorganized Spanish classes (mainly the teacher and me not being motivated) and I am really scared about 3rd year. I am at the point where I feel extremely behind, hating every minute of class and hw, and feel compelled to drop the class due to spending 1-2 hours on a 30 minutes on current assignments. I even have a speaking presentation this week and feel totally unprepared.(High School by the way) Do you have any recommendations on how to "Crash course" my way up to speed and feel confident enough to pursue excellence in the class and actually be happy in it too?! Thanks!
I thought by adding the pronoun to the verb would confuse me, but hey, you’ve just made me realise that yes, it’s the same as English Well done , I think I’ll use it that way too Thank-you keep up the good work
Hi Jordan, just want to say thank you for all your hard work and effort you put into your videos, and how you explain with examples and your experiences, think your great, I am a busy busy woman, struggling to cram everything in, so I try and play your link to all 45 videos and have it on in the background, If it was a perfect world, I would press the slow down button constantly and the music in between the videos, I would cut and play something calming, soothing, I have the volume up high, so the current music is deafening! okay, small points, compared to all the brill videos you produce. Hasta luego, ciao Reen x
Thank you dude finally I understood, I've attended many classes never got it , but simply watching your video by chance I got it, you're great thanks to ya a lot J.
That's so cool, Abdullah. I'm glad I was able to help you. This video was part of a series, though, so make sure not to miss the others. Here's a link to all the videos in the series: spanishdude.com/playlists/object-pronouns/
I really like your video because its easier to understand. thank you. can you make a video about funny phrases to say in spanish? i have mexican friend and want to use spanish with him. thanks for teaching me. you are way better than spanish classes! gracias, amiga!
+Lexi O'Donnell Great, I love to hear it. I'm happy you found me. This video is actually part of a series of videos that are all very related (and they get confusing): gringoespanol.com/quickie-category/pronouns It's this one, then indirect, double, reflexive and verbs like gustar. 5 videos total. Check them out! Thanks for the message!
Man, I'm a Portuguese native speaker, trying to learn Spanish on an English channel. This is the first video I'm watching and I'm laughing so hard when you say "It's like talking backwards" 😂😂😂😂 I'm staying Me gusta tu canal, voy a me inscribir

these videos you make are just amazing!! very catchy and can't get bored.
Sorry!
You teach better than my teacher in 9 minutes compared to a hour class everyday! Thank You
This is great!! Just spent a whole day trying to figure this out, your videos makes it easy to understand. Thank you
I've been through a bunch of websites and videos trying to understand object pronouns, and this is the one that finally hit it home for me. Thank you.
Thank you so much! I've been struggling with these, your explanation was clear and concise.
I have a quiz on this tomorrow and I barely understood the concept until now :,) Thank you so much!
I think I’ll have to watch this video daily for a month to get this
you just earned the subscribe!
muchas gracias
you're awesome and easy to understand.
Hola amigo!. We have the same names. Are you form Ghana?
Thanks! Do check question #10, answer key is different then quiz. Really threw me there for a minute.
Ha ha!! Fun and to the point!! Got it!! Great job!! 👍
Yay! Thank you! Glad you liked this video. Tricky topic for sure.
The only RUclips videos that most of the time I need to keep on 1x speed! Thank you.
Thank you!
You helped me get an A in my Spanish 123 class during summer quarter...very intense... totally worth it. Muchas Gracias!!!!
Omg this helped me so much. You break it down the simplest way I have ever seen
Great video! Very useful explanation! Just a small observation...for the example 'you introduce Carlos' it would be tú presentas (a) Carlos.
Yes, thank you, it's an amateur mistake that I can't correct.
These videos are fantastic! I've been learning Spanish on my own and this made it so much easier. Thanks for the lessons :)
So here goes: ¡Muchos gracias! :)
Where have you been my whole life? Thank you!
+Chelsea Byrd Well, hello there =) You're welcome!
:)
Reminds me of Crash Course! XD
Mitchell Pon That's a great compliment. I love those guys!
I even have a speaking presentation this week and feel totally unprepared.(High School by the way)
Do you have any recommendations on how to "Crash course" my way up to speed and feel confident enough to pursue excellence in the class and actually be happy in it too?!
Thanks!
So true! He speaks like the host in Crash course. 🤣🤣
it does doe
I thought by adding the pronoun to the verb would confuse me, but hey, you’ve just made me realise that yes, it’s the same as English
Well done , I think I’ll use it that way too
Thank-you keep up the good work
You are the god that my Spanish teacher couldn't be
I love that.
You are phenomenon!! I haven't seen so good teaching skills in my whole life!

Soosa Al Am Awesome! I love to hear this. One of my main goals of starting this channel was to come into contact with people from all over the world!
Gracias! Direct and indirect objects have been so difficult for me. After your lessons, it seems so simple now.
Here's a link to all the videos in the series:
spanishdude.com/playlists/object-pronouns/

I am very new to Spanish and just couldn't figure out how direct object pronouns worked...until I watched this video! Esta muy claro ahora!

+Lexi O'Donnell Great, I love to hear it. I'm happy you found me. This video is actually part of a series of videos that are all very related (and they get confusing): gringoespanol.com/quickie-category/pronouns
It's this one, then indirect, double, reflexive and verbs like gustar. 5 videos total. Check them out! Thanks for the message!
Man, I'm a Portuguese native speaker, trying to learn Spanish on an English channel. This is the first video I'm watching and I'm laughing so hard when you say "It's like talking backwards" 😂😂😂😂 I'm staying
Me gusta tu canal, voy a me inscribir
So helpful and soo grateful to have found your channel! Looking forward to viewing and liking the rest of your videos.
How easily you explained that confusing topic! Muchos gracias, mi amigo!
In some parts of Spain (Asturias), archaic form "Quierole"(I love him) stil exist instead of "Le quiero"
+supalognon Very interesting. I've never even heard of that before. Cool! Thanks!
Nice video. The multiple clips are
distracting, but your content is great! Thanks!
