great vid thanks , I used your vid to replace the rubber buttons and it worked great , even the tiny screws stayed in the housing !!! I put an extra turn in the spring and it whips out like a switchblade now :)

Good video for reference. Don’t forget to transfer the chip if you have one in the original remote. Also, the replacement shell doesn’t have seals on it as the original, but I don’t think that’s a big deal. The pin needs to be taken out with a special pin press tool, hammering on it will probably shatter it, or you can get it cut by a key cutter. I used the old blade and just used one of the slim original screws instead of the pin, worked just as well as it sheared off and acts like a pin. The logo is glued on, so that can be transferred too.

Very well presented. Just a few points: 1. What is the exact driver size and type for the two smaller screws. 2. If replacing the case, there is a glass Philips chip that needs to move, as well. 3. Replace battery with a fresh one.
A Client brought in an "EBAY" key that was recycled, but seller did not put in a fresh chip, and the locked chip will not unlock for programming. I need to disassemble in order to make this flip key usable.
For me to be able to program the new key after I cut it, I need a chip that is not locked. Since we carry these chips, no problem.... or so I thought; for want of a correct screwdriver !

Can I ask where you purchased your replacement key fob for this video? Only the one I bought didn't have all the connections so it wouldn't open the car, it woukd only lock and open the boot :/ thanks

Was there no glass transponder capsule you needed to transfer over?
+bryan ninan Thanks for your comment. Everything that was there is shown in the video. Is your key slightly different then? This is for Audi A6 (C6).
There is a small tube shaped transponder which communicates with the vehicles immobilizer. It's locate in the corner under the circuit board. If you don't switch it out the fuel pump will be immobilized and the car won't start. It will say "SAFE" on the dash computer. Its fairly simple to switch the transponder out if you're gentle. Great video otherwise. Thanks for posting.

Great video, there is a glass pill immobiliser chip in my 2010 TT key, before i realised this the key woulf open the car and it would start but inly run for seconds.
Swapped the pill over as well and now all good.
Thanks for the video. Can anyone recommend a shell that includes the housing for the glass cylinder chip? The one I bought from eBay doesn't have this and so I can't transfer this component over. My car is TT 2008

Hmm... Interesting! You shouldn't have to since the motherboard has been transfered. It is pretty much just a reset as if you were to change the batteries. 🤔 Try googling and let me know how it goes! Good luck!

I just did this but some reason the unlock bottom it's not working only the lock
Thanks for the tutorial, but there is not an id ship inside the key ? I tried but when i would start my audi a3 i can't, i have safe mode.
Hmmm… some people mentioned this too. I had no issues whatsoever 😅
Don't forget to transfer over the little Audi sticker to the new fob, you wouldn't want people thinking you're driving a vw!!!
