Thank God for all the talented and, in the best sense of the word, patriotic composers who immortalized the folk dances of their homelands in orchestral pieces. Lizst, Schubert, Smetna, Dvorjak, Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Enescu, and many many more.
AH! This is the closest to what I recall was Bruno Walter conducting where the opening just romantically glides. Woofy is OK! I have a box set of Robert Schumann symphonies where he does a great job. Thanks for posting CHEERS! Also this is recorded technically great. Does not BLAST you deaf. Balance outstanding! This dance #3 was the theme song for a program of classical music from the University of South Dakota radio station KUSD sent and played by radio stations throughout the state. Hosted by dearly departed Martin Busch.
I played this in an orchestra that has been playing with the same people for about 7 years now and honestly we were absolutley terrible, i hope i can play in a concert like that some day

Is there any bad sense to the word patriotic?
I played this with my 8th grade full orchestra....man off beats were brutal
As a horn player, this was possibly the most painful piece I had ever played.
Maravilhoso! Eu conheço! Simplesmente lindo!
