Another Fact since Caddy didn't Mention this in the Crash Boom Bang Segment: If you thought the models for Crash Boom Bang looked Horrible... well it doesn't get much better for the unlockable characters either.
My favorite out of these portable Crash games that were specifically designed for handheld/mobile devices is unironically Crash On the Run. It's still a shame you can no longer play it officially and they didn't even bother making an offline version of the game before the servers were shut down. All the preservation work was put on the massive, bold shoulders of the Chad Crash Bandicoot community, as always.
I was born around the tail end of the era of handheld lcd games. The issue is that those games can be good. Nintendo had their Game & Watch series and Mattel released a few sports simulation games. They were a good build quality and the games themselves were easy to understand and had addictive gameplay loops. Tiger made plastic waste that you could shatter in your hands and the games were convoluted with no obvious goal.
So the main Villain from Crash Bandicoot 99X was Mr. Crumb, a ghoulish, greedy ghost. And the defunct Crash Mobile Game Crash On the Run literally deep cut pulled Mr. Crumb from the ashes of the cheap Tiger Electronics game and made him a grand, dapper redesign and honestly a funky boss theme and also sick dance moves in his intro.
I’m glad your a caddy Fan, I’ve been a Caddy fan since Dalmatians three back in 2014 aka My Junior year of High school. He is a living chaotic Monty Python Character.
Speaking of great Cash Banooca videos from Caddy, I of course have to recommend his Bad Crash Games video and his tackling of Crash Bandicoot 4. Both hilarious!
Something about Crash Boom Bang that Caddy didn’t mention is that it’s literally impossible to lose. When you remain idle for long enough while playing(and by “long enough”, I mean like 5 seconds), the game will literally move on from whatever you’re doing, and in a way will play for you, the only exception being during cutscenes and when betting in competitions between CPU players Not only that, but the game will literally move on to the next board even if you don’t win it. Yes, even if your CPU opponents wins the board, the game will keep going. So the game basically says that you don’t need to put effort in what you’re doing
