I think offering figs from both movies isn't that unusual. Mafex is currently doing it with Robocop and Terminator, offering figs across multiple films. However, the Avatar figs look so similar, there will likely be confusion among the average consumer.

No, you're on the mark- reef Neytiri's face has some subtle tweakments in it's upper half that bring it closer to alignment with her CGI model. They corrected the shape of her forehead and raised her hairline to where it's supposed to be (even in the 1st movie). That's exactly why I opted for the reef model, the other one's face looked ever so slightly off.
Real cool review! As for the knife rubbing against her side, the sheath can swivel to face somewhere else since its attached via peg :)

The release of both figures from different movies at the same time. I think that it was the only way, maybe some younger generation never seen the first movie and maybe mcfarlane never had the license until now?
