  • Today we're rebuilding the bottom end on my 2002 Yz85, This was my first splitting cases on a dirtbike so I was kind of hesitant on doing so, but everything went perfect and if you did enjoy this video please give it a like and consider subscribing.

    To all those who feel need to tell me how I don't know how rebuild motors. I get it the "techniques" used in this video are all wrong but hey I was 12-13 these were filmed 3-5 years ago depending on the video (uploaded a year or two ago) I can assure you that no motor after this (besides the other two motor rebuilds on the the channel) was built like this. I just glad I was motivated to try this because here I am years later I've seen over a thousand customers and have flipped a 1-2 hundred bikes and happy I did it. This motor ran for years same as the other motor rebuilds until I sold it so I guess I got lucky.

    Hello, my yz85 is leaking transmission oil out of the little breather hole under the water pump. Do you know what would cause this? thank you

    • @TheCompound1325
      @TheCompound1325  4 года назад

      Unless you're doing lots of wheelies or there's too much oil in the transmission it shouldn't leak but there's also the unlikely case that you're having the crankcase leak high pressure into the transmission.

  • @ianbrown5044
    @ianbrown5044 6 лет назад +8

    The bearings you installed were installed incorrectly. You are supposed to hit the outer part of the bearing with a socket not the inside.

    • @TheCompound1325
      @TheCompound1325  6 лет назад +1

      I'm highly aware that you're not supposed to be hammering on the inner race and I know it looks like I'm hammering on the inside race but I was actually working my way around the outside race

    • @Chozenfew73
      @Chozenfew73 5 лет назад +3

      thats also incorrect,no hammering is required at all,stick bearings in the freezer over night then heat up the crankcase where the bearing fits using mapp gas or similiar then the bearing drops in,same with crank in freezer then heat centre of bearing just a little,crank drops straight in too -repeat
