Your awesome. I'm stoked. I'm thinking hard on buying a new 250x when the shop opens back up (virus)and keeping my current bike for my homies that want to ride with me.
@@Moto290 I purchased the yamaha OEM "restyle" kit from RMATV/MC. It's more expensive, but the plastic holds up better color wise. Oh that tire is a Shinko 505 Cheater
2:25 You don't show it for long, but that damage to the piston on the exhaust side (crown edge wear above the top ring, and maybe even the upper ring groove getting wider.), is due to not letting the water warm up enough before taking off for the ride. The bike is running rich stock, and that takes longer for the water to warm up. Don't be impatient when warming up your bike. The tops of the radiators should be pretty hot to the touch. Warm enough to be uncomfortably hot with no gloves on.
Sweet build. I have an 01 yz250 with 2005 yz250 front forks, flywheel weight, fmf gnarly pipe, and some other goodies that make it a trail monster. The yz 250's are by far the easiest Japanese 2 strokes to turn into woods/enduro bikes.
Very cool! May I suggest maybe heating up the cases in an oven so that they expand uniformly to insert the bearings. I'd be too worried about the propane torch causing warping. What type of material did you bolt onto the glide plate at the bottom?
Aye nice build, Found you by looking up swing arm removal as mine is seized. Also live right down in pueblo working on my 2013 yz250. Appreciate the info i got from it.
That was fascinating. If that was a “woods bike” build, I think my mostly stock DRZ will stay whatever it currently is out of the box. “Woods bike” looks hard 😅.
Glad to see you're back, that was a sweet build, love the ending. What did you like about the Flex bars? I've been looking at them just can't pull the trigger on the cost, at 50 years my shoulder and wrist joints need all the lovin they can get.
Vince the vibration reduction is huge. When I get on my Beta now (no flexxbars) i can barely stand it. I never really had a complaint until I started using the flexxbars on this bike. So, that’s my measurement guide basically.
hey dude. i was wondering if you give us the link on what parts did you put in the bike i just bought a run down 05 yz250 and this pushed to upgrade it to next level hope for your reply.
Hi mate........great video! it was very useful for me. If you are reading this...........what is the exact description(name)of your swing arm bearing removal tool....
How are those TUSK rims holding up? Is the Lectron worth it and did you try a JD kit or anything else before the Lectron? Those bars look nice and tall.
Tusk Rims we’re great. The Lectron I actually pulled back off and went back to stock. It kinda neutered the bike in my opinion. Ran great but lost some of is spirit.
I think that's a safe bet. The x can be easily tuned to be more like the motocrosser with some tweaking of the powervalve, ECU swap, getting the head decked and stuff like that.
You got the skills. I find making things much more satisfying than giving my money to communist china so communism fund itself. Anybody who has production over there, (or business with communism anywhere), has no idea the free enterprise opportunity that they helped destroy for their own children.
@@PlushEnduro I was thinking the same thing like damn that’s a lot of cash to put in a older 2 stroke but it couldn’t have came out better nice bike and great video hard work and dedication pays off💪🏽‼️

I didn’t love it for trail riding, so i sold it and bought my KTM 300. Oh and also, I’m super jealous of your engine stand. I just wrestle with them on the work bench LOL And your garage is too clean haha
Can I drive enduro with a 2018 YZ250, or will I crash it every 5 minutes? I'm considering buying one. It has already been modified with an 18" rear wheel/tire and a full FMF system. I'm a lower-intermediate rider, so I understand that I probably should buy a WR250F instead, but this '18 YZ250 I found is so gorgeous that I fell in love with it instantly. 😅
Hard to say. The YZ makes a great singletrack bike. As far as hard enduro or where things get incredibly technical, it can do it absolutely, but there are better bikes out there that are made specifically to do the harder stuff. I will say that the YZ has been the most comfortable bike out of the box. I think it comes down to the person riding it to be honest. If you get the YZ, but get the heaviest flywheel you can find and hit the woods. I think it’s a good enough platform to learn on. My biggest gripe is lack of e-start.
@@PlushEnduro Thanks. I don't think I will do very technical stuff. More enduro trails (single track type terrain but can be wet muddy), for the fun and exercise. It's hard to find a very good bike
@@PlushEnduro Is it possible to fit an electric starter on a YZ250 2-stroke? 🤔 I'm guessing no. Then again, if I'm not going to do much technical stuff, I suppose I wouldn't stall the bike much.

They were re-valved by a local suspension guy. I’m not sure what weight he used though. I blindly put my faith into his expertise. 😂
