For the player under the drip stone to win shouldn’t they need to survive for a certain amount of time? Since there’s limited space there’s only so long they can survive before there’s literally no ground to stand on. Either that or give the players with the tridents a limited amount of throws to make the game more fair and fun for both sides.
Redstone clock that allows dispensers to retract the lava after time passes? You have to replace all the snow afterwards anyway, so it won't complicate setup too much.
I have an idea,use observers to send a redstone signal to pistons who will push blocks of the arena above so it make an obstacle on the ground so you cannot stand where there are no drip stone.
I believe you were able to make dripstone grow so, im unsure of its effected by tick soeed but just put some water over the drip stone blocks and set the tick speed high so that the dripstone regrows
It was a good idea how the dripstone runs out, because then the runner can actually win. It gives the thrower a limit of attempts. Now it’s just see how long you can last.

I have a way to improve it. Me and my friend recreated it but the runner also gets a trident. If they hit a target that is hard to hit it will drop fire balls and potions on the hunter. The floor for the hunter is made put of wood so it would slowly wither down. Of course because of slowness and poison and wither dropping on them they get health boost and resistance. And for a hunters chance with the fire they get splash water bottles to put out the fire. There is also basalt pillars replaced with wood so they can do parkour to try to avoid falling in lava, there one more main problem and that is out can catch the dripstone so your inventory will be filled with dirt. There is also a structure block connected to a button that will reset the whole machine. Have fun with this fun twist.:)😊
I still prefer my idea of sand being on top of the drip stone so that way when it fell or if you broke the top one somehow sand would fall or grab a wood fall walling them in and creating places for them to hide behind so then the heighter gets limited on movement but also and gets advantage on vision

You can cheese this for a while by simply standing in the back so maybe at something dangerous over there or just replace the glass with an opaque then it would be much fun so you wouldn’t know where the person is

My idea of how to improve the minigame without the snow thing would be to have the guy under the spikes constantly poisoned so he has to avoid all the spikes, and to rebalance the game he wins at the end of a timer

Add trapdoors to the back so the runner can use them to traverse when the middle has no more powdered snow. Then add a button to the shooters side that flips the trapdoor so you can't just stand on it. The runner can flip it again but if your standing on it and its flipped. They won't have enough time before they fall in.
I think a way you could’ve fixed the drip stone part is: You could have a command block and connect it to the drip stone. Input a command or smth like that so that when all the dripstone is gone, a whole new row spawns in. You could also have hoppers underneath the whole thing to catch the stone and spawn it back up there or smth (I’m not too familiar with Minecraft physics so my idea might be a little confusing)

Add dispensers on the sides with buckets of powdered snow in them tied to a slow red stone clock to give the runner more of a chance if the trident guys try to lock them in one half of the arena. Then, add a piston that will pull back at the same time the powdered snow is placed so the runners can knock down the snow and not create the same problem the game had before. Please try it out I would like to see how that works
To counter the taking half away and slowly removing it, give the person inside a jump boost effect for a short period of time, and a speed effect for a short period of time. You get to choose one to have
