Sister Lauren, you can't go anywhere out of Türkiye because you became our beloved sister. Please stay with us in Türkiye as you have brought peace, joy and blessing here. Please take one of common Turkish and muslim names such as Leyla, Ayla or anything you like. I hope you'll get citizenship soon. Take care our lovely sister.
Lovely video. As a 64 y/o Brit, I have travelled to many countries and lived abroad for 28 years. Visited Turkey first in 1996. This year twice, renting a scooter from Antalya and travelling through this beautiful country. Have made many friends and will visit Istanbul next month. All the people I met left a deep and positive impression on me, so much so that I am now to start reading the Qur'an from M.A.S. Abdel Haleem. I am sure I will have questions and my Turkish friends will guide me further. Thank you for your video's, so insightful for myself and I am sure for many others.
Brother, to read quran, first, you should answer 1 question, why children go to schooll to listen math teachers, why they dont read theirself? Whom you trust, ask him, whats quran in reality, first u need mentality to look it
Masha'allah Sister Lauren Sarah Booth! You are such an amazing Muslima. You sound like you have been a Muslima all your life. You know how to project Islam in the most amazing prescriptions. Went for umrah & found Turkish pilgrims are the most gentle in demeanor & kindest towards children ❤ When it's crowded during tawaf I'll look for a turkish-speaking entourage to embed my kids into 😅
Great collection of images and advice and personal observations, Lauren. Alhamdulilah, you and so many others are at the forefront of helping us navigate through these turbulent times, from drawing attention to the genocide and for the positive outlook of moving to Muslim-friendly cities. Enjoy Istanbul!

Sister Lauren. We visit Turkeye on a regular basis from UK. In fact we just got back last night from there and was in Konya for the Shub e Arus. We also visit Mahmud Aziz Hudai RA sometimes in Uskudar and have stayed near there a few times. I met you in London once when you visited South Woodford masjid a few years ago. Not sure if you remember me. But it would be lovely to meet you upon our next visit. We travel solo. That’s me and my husband and hire a car while we are there. It’s always jam packed as we visit so many Sahaba ekram and Awliya. But if Allah wills we can meet in sha Allah. Even for a coffee ❤ Misbah

This is the first video I've seen of yours sister and instantly subscribed. The way you speak and describe your journey, feels like we are there with you.
Asalaamu Alaykum sister Lauren Booth, masha Allah we happy for you that you live that amazing City Istanbul, but not every can afford to live there, I was lucky to visit in 2019 and I loved it so much, the History that City holds is incredible and inspiring.
Why do European Muslims prefer Turkey? 1- non-radical islam 2- geographical conditions 3- climate ( A European, especially one accustomed to a rainy climate, cannot survive in hot deserts.) 4- language ( Since Turkey uses the Latin alphabet, this can make learning the language easier.) 5- Foods 6- helpful Turkish people 7- impressive mosques As a result, Turks have introduced the culture of orientalism to Europe for centuries, and today Turkey continues to introduce western culture to the Islamic world...........
Istanbul for me is a country within a country. It's a fascinating city and there is a lot to see. I find the people quite nice, very helpful and they mind their own business, not bothering anyone. Sadly enough, the inflation factor got in the way and boosted the prices to an unbelievable level. Everything got a lot more expensive than a few years ago and this had somehow pushed people away from Turkiye. I love Istanbul, it's really a dream city.
I traveled through Turkey for a month during the last elections and took part in an Erdogan rally showing my 3 finger salute while dancing with the crowd and took part in the AK PARTi victory celebrations in the square in Bursa my favorite city in Turkey. The bulk of my stay was in Istanbul in two spells. Firstly at the beginning of my travels where I stayed in Yedikule for a week and 10 days in Balat at the end as there was so much to see and do while also being mesmerized by the Bosphorus. It is also a place where you can make your Salaah on time and in congregation even as a traveler because there are so many mosques. But most fascinating for me just like you say is that you feel that you are walking in a film set and part of history which is around every corner and yet connected to 21st century comfort and modernity. One of my highlights was stumbling across by chance seeing the almost 2000 year old Column of Constantine which I did not even know of before.
Dear sister, I identify with the things you've gone through after I have started covering my hair, even when I visit Turkiye. . InshaAllah, we'll experience a supportive environment more and more.
Sevgili Lauren Booth, seni seviyoruz. Senin bu halin bizim için bir sevinç vesilesidir. Gazze'yi senin sayende güzel tanıdık. Allah emeklerinin ecrini versin.

As a turk I am glad that your heart is in İstanbul.. with all its day to day crazyness and chaos even, it is still the city of my life no matter where I travel live etc.. I always return there. And insh'Allah I will be returning for good this year. İf you asked me to describe İstanbul; I would say İstanbul is 'aşk' (powerful love), it's the Leyla of all Mecnuns who are searching for their Beloved. There is always a way to the Divine in İstanbul.. if only the stones could talk
Thank you Lauren for sharing this insight into your life in Turkiye. Im a muslim woman by birth and born in UK and would love to be in a country where i can live without islamophobes! Im thinking about living in Malaysia personally as the ideal muslim country Inshallah but do like Turkiye with its rich islamic history ❤
I like how you expressed it: " We live in a film set which has a modern reality going on. So, we are literally walking in the footsteps of the giants."
Many are 'stuck' in the West and don't know how to go about it. Maybe it's something you can do for those people? Information and stuff. Anyways I hope you enjoy the peace and freedom.
People are not stuck in the west. Everyone wants to live here and people do anything to get here and stay here. And those who don't live here love the west and imitate it and want to be like it and have an inferiority complex. I was born and bought up in the west and later in life moved to the muslim world, I don't know why, there was no deen here. You find more practice of deen in the uk. Muslim nations love the west and want to be like them and majority of muslims try to move here and live here. No one is stuck here, they are free to leave If you are using a translator and don't have sufficient grasp of English please 🙏 dont reply To many people replying on yt who can't even understand English and misunderstand everything Salaam
As a white western person she will get preferential treatment See how they treat other muslims who are brown it's despicable really how they are treated The worst racism is in our own muslim countries not the west

Alhamdulillah. You found peace in the Islamic country. Most importantly peace in yourself.
Islamic country?
Unfortunately, secularism was dictated in Turkiye, but it is taking firm steps towards becoming an Islamic country again.
It' s not a islamic country. It's a very secular country.

Human nature always wants what it doesn't have at that moment. This makes life unsatisfying. I'm glad you stopped that desire and settled in peace.
