    I have access to VIP service as well and several months ago when I asked the same exact question, JackeyLi answered me this (I only give a summary) :
    Firepower boost +5% = increase the unit capabiliy to deal damage by 5%, but does not mean the target will receive 5% more damage based on its defensive stats and temporary bonuses ; it does only affect your own unit stats.
    Damage boost +5% = the target actually receive 5% more damages than before, no matter what its defensive stats are.
    Same mechanism for Durability boosts and Damage resist boosts.
    Which means, Damage and Damage resist boosts are better than Firepower and Durability boosts.

    Here is the comment they gave me directly from VIP support: Sorry for the late reply. The damage is an attribute that acts on the outer layer of firepower, which means that it will provide you with a bonus on top of your ''comprehensive'' bonus. For example, the base firepower is 100, and the firepower is increased by 10% to 110, and the damage is increased by 10%, and the firepower becomes 110x (1+10%) = 121. And if it is a 10% firepower bonus, it will only act on the ''base firepower'', and your firepower will be, 100x(1+10%)=110. Hope this can help you.
    Even this answer is still a bit convoluted and confusing in my opinion

    This has puzzled me for a while. Firepower is just a unit measurement. So what actually happens when you get a 10% firepower buff? Do I get a 10% increase on each of the core statistics that make up firepower?

      Yes if you have fire defense boost active and attacking units don't you'll come out head.
      It's
      1. Boost
      2. Maximize units & lv
      3. Officer strength

    Unfortunately this video did not really answer any question regarding the simplest of questions everyone asks. In the officer skills, which one should be upgraded 1st. Firepower or Damage. You cannot do anything really to units as they basically upgrade to the next level no matter what.

    I think this subject needs an actual live test on a battlefield so that we all know whats really best. This sbould be easy to do now because of the officer skill training.

    Your officer damage only show in your battle stat. It's base on units vs units, so when you get mb vs mb both equally match in fire power and damage. Your officer is your next to decide the out come. For additional damage in that match up. Why sometimes infantry will stand up to tanks when bunker like they are base of there own. All depending on officer set up. Wolf who give bunker ability but erupter who artillery officer gives mortar attacks help with extra damage to attacking units.

    You should change howitzers units leader to white wolf, it gives more damage

    Did some testing with base skins on arty and it seems that if you choose skin with firepower arty 5% and firepower all units 5% you will get the most and best results…..this will change your unit stats overall firepower and DMG number.
    If you select skin with arty dmg 5% and firepower all units 5% that will be less than first option, even DMG number will be lower….which is weird cause you have specifically dmg buff 5% but you will ser that number is lower comparing to first skin with firepower 5%

    So regarding the two firepower and damage which is the better stat to increase first - which one gives the better boost - thanks for the video I’m just a few months into the game and having trouble understanding
