  • Luka Doncic is one of the best offensive players in NBA history, and his 50 point, 15 assist performance against the Suns on Christmas proves it.

      It's funny that Luka is one of two players that you should never double. Yet, teams find themselves in a position to double Luka and immediately pay for it.

    • @ironboxfilms
      @ironboxfilms 5 месяцев назад +13

      @@berryesseen I think they think its safer to double Luka and have him pass to a lesser player, than it is to just give him room to shoot even more. And it think it shows. if the Mavs can sort out the other positions with better shooters, they'd be unstoppable.

      your videos are great man, i haven't seen many but you're definitely going places. I'm sure you get this all the time. I also rarely leave comments, if you practiced some editing (like putting arrows and highlighting the players in a play like kinda like espn does it would add some kick to the videos. Give you more separation from other creators doing similar video styles. I watch a lot of fitness creators, and it seems the thing that gives larger creators a boost over others is the fact that they have some sort of unique editing style. I think part of the reason behind that is the fact that if someone who isn't subscribed watched a few videos of yours in the past they'd see your editing style and they'd have a remembrance to the other videos and be more likely to subscribed. Keep making videos man you're doing great and i'm sure it's a blast @@HoopVenue

      I don't know where you heard this misinformation. He's barely leading in total time doubled and he's not leading in being doubled per possession. That's still Giannis and Embiid. To simply believe something as such is possible shows a serious lack of understanding of this game. Embiid would have to only be double-teamed 50% of possessions just for Luka to have a chance at this. It's simply not possible.

      Man that's tough. I do like how Luka's in-between game gives him another layer, as well as the ability to operate out of the post/from a standstill inside the arc. Harden's athleticism is really hard to overlook though. I want to see Luka sustain this 3P% over an entire season, and that'd probably be enough to comfortably lean his way.

    He has a way of making it look effortless. I know his understanding of the game and reading of the court is unparalleled, let alone his passing (out of this world)and his 3 point game is deadly accurate. But somehow, seeing this guy play feels like seeing an OK dude playing for fun with friends. He has a way of making the entire game feel more relaxed. And I know this is just optics, but the fact that he looks "normal" (except for his height, ofc, but surrounded by tall guys he feels normal) and he is not super muscular or athletic, lends more to the image (I can´t understand why some people criticise him for that at the level he is playing).
    The likes of Jordan, Kareem, Wilkins, with bulging muscles 40+ inch verticals and out of this world dunking prowess made (in my eyes) basketball feel like an unattainable feat only reserved for some olympian level of demi-god creature. And along come this Slovenian and this Serbian looking lanky, even untrained at times, and in the case of Jokic so careless about all the glamour surrounding the game and almost unaware of how great he is... it is refreshing.
    This guy is already an all time great. The definition of "sleeper build".

    This is exactly what was so exciting about Luka. He is already so good and he has like 5+ years to go before we see the final product. This is just the proof of concept phase of Luka. He is going to take the whole sport to another level and does so without jumping out of the gym. A certain Steph Curry did a similar thing and changed the game... Luka is on that trajectory. There is not much you can do about him or stump him in a game. He reads the defense like an open book...

    Give him the MVP already. Jokic is great puts up similar numbers but it's not the same. They run different offenses. He stands at the foul line 7 ft tall passing 5 feet to cutters for easy layups 10x a game and he's 7 ft tall so rebounds are easy. Luka is literally QBing the offense from everywhere on the court slinging it from corner to corner, behind his back, no look passes every game and he's a PG. A lot of his assists come on much tougher shots like 3's. And many of those potential assists are missed. Luka could probably average 15 assists a game if they had better quality shooters. About time for Luka to win his first MVP and don't give me any BS about standings. Jokic won it when DEN finished 6th and Curry placed 3rd when the Warriors finished 10th. Give the man his dues. Kyrie has been out 2 weeks and Lively a week before last game. They were in 3rd place before those 2 guys went down with injuries. He's carrying a bunch of bench rotation guys, G league players, and making Dante Exum look like the most improved player in the NBA. If Luka doesn't win MVP this year and the Mavs finish top 3 then the fix is in.

    • @AchillesWrath1

      And don't get me started on Embiid the free throw merchant. The guy averages about 20 pts a game on legit FG's and 15 free throws a game. Ever watch a sixers game? It's painful to watch a 7 footer flop on the floor so many times a game. He should have a sponsor from Bounty, the quicker picker upper

I'm a Cowboys fan, but my favorite football player is Peyton Manning because of his IQ. I'm a diehard Mavs fan, and I think the same about Luka. I'm not a soccer fan, but I know Messi is the greatest player ever. I honestly think his many of his teammates are chilling out behind the 3pt line and not getting closer to the paint to get that easy 2pt bucket. Watch Larry bird and most of his passing to guys deep in the paint.
    They need to get in the range. Michael Jordan would make 85% of his shots and not just wait for the open 3. Let Donic take those long range 3's, He's the skilled player. But he still could try making 2pt buckets more when it's an option
