The iX may not win any beauty contests, but I'm definitely interested. I never considered the i3 until I bought one back in '17, and it was perhaps the most fun car I've ever owned.
I am a life long Porsche, BMW and other drivers. The new design didn't work for me - but it stands out. Now the more I see them on the street the more I like.
Interesting how that works. BMW design has - to me - looked bland/uninspired for decades. To me, it looks like they’re finally finding their way and bringing life into the design language. Haven’t given owning one a second thought in a long time, but now they have my attention. To each their own
So the hood can’t open or they just won’t let you? Seems kind of dumb for a manufacturer to make an electric and not make a frunk. Even with a suv or truck I still love the idea of having a frunk for that extra storage space.
@@laloajuria4678 sure it is if they reduce the length of the front in favor of more cabin space. Look how long the hood on the Mach E is to accommodate a trunk.
@@swisstrader frunks have only been out for a tiny amount of time and very few owners exist already. How the F could they have done an accurate study. I could see how a truck with a frunk would be extremely useful. Keep the bed dirty for hauling and the frunk clean for groceries. Also that’s another point. Most truck owners report not using their trucks for hauling anything yet they all want a truck. Imagine manufacturers telling the truck owners we are going to get rid of the bed and just cover it up since none of you use it anyway. It’s basically useless.
I've to disagree with one point. Most won't see the exterior design as a complain, but instead the price tag. For more EV adoption with current battery technology, the market needs more cars in the price range of the Nissan Leaf or the Dacia Spring.
BMW’s goal isn’t to make affordable vehicles lol, I’m sure Toyota will be the one to have affordable ev’s within the next 5 years. BMW is luxury performance, which always come with a high price unfortunately
I was able to drive my C5 Z06 on the ring! Talk about a once in a lifetime time opportunity. I will never forget that! And I live BMW, just ordered my 6th Beamer. M440i, can't wait.
Plus convenience superchargers for many long distance trips but once the 3m double-sided tapes used in many areas failed, there will be lots of SC visits. Flimsy build quality is annoying so I now have iX on ordered.
For people saying don’t like it because there are no tactile buttons, very easy w voice command to do whatever you want and very quickly. Want it cooler, just say “hey BMW, make it cooler”. So easy
I love the real buttons, I like what Audi is doing with the etron models, but I guess it's subjective. Some people like the simplistic look, I like an ev that has a regular car interior
seems like countrysh cant get used to big grill, what a joke. I boght ix50 for 3 months until i will get ix m60. The coolest looking car, by far right now. X 6 and x7 looks like century old design, feel sorry for those who have to drive with oli-lamps. Just get into new era....
Totally agree with the buttons. The i3 we have is perfect and still feels minimal. Wish they had continued that amount of hard buttons with the newer/larger screen. Also, they needed the frunk!
I really don't understand the push for no hard buttons. I've never in my life gotten into a car and thought "huh I would rather fumble my way through touch screen menus to be able to control my A/C". It just doesn't make sense for things that people fiddle with while driving.
EV is the future, embrace it… good job BMW finaly some real competition for Tesla, I like the fact that BMW created a cheaper option to the X model with better interior design
I would be curious to see some slalom figures and skidpad data comparison to iX xdrive 50, x5 xdrive 50, ,X5M etc Strait line acceleration is only one dimension of a performance sav/suv Thanks for a good video guys
I dislike the look, strongly dislike the lack of tactile buttons for basic functions when driving, wish the steering wheel was more about ergonomics than looks, and I wish they put fast charging on the level of kia/Hyundai in there. Oh yeah also metal in the seat back is bad I like the range, power, BMW quality.
Personally as a single guy who likes his cars but has never really wanted to own a fossil fuel Porsche I think I prefer a Taycan Cross Tourismo over any version of this iX

How far has it fallen from design followed by ergonomics and purposeful Teutonic simplicity to this atrocious hodgepodge of clashing design elements. OMG that grill, I'm sure only Bugs Bunny would look at that with pride.

13:10 agreed. The grill isn't the only issue either. There's a lot of "check that box" modern styling details that aren't going to age well. Of course I'd go for the R1S if given the option. But that's apple's to oranges really.

But BMW isn’t going to be the company that brings a new technology at a good price. After all BMW stands for Big Money Wasted.
There are basic EVs at much lower cost, such as the Chevy Bolt EV or EUV which will be 5k to 6k cheaper in the US for 2023
