The Hunky and Spunky series were owned by at least three TV companies; NTA, UM&M, and Kit Parker (Walt Disney). Spunky DID appear in a cartoon with Casper the Friendly Ghost.
What these animals did to him was child abuse. They were driven solely by revenge against a child for his pranks. They treated him like a medieval criminal by dunking him in a well and pelting him with rotten food. He was not their kid and these animals were undermining the mother donkey and her authority with her son.
The other animals judge Hunky and yet don't help her deal with him, then when he starts bothering them, they use the medieval dunking torture. The animals kept telling her the "proper" way to discipline spunky, but when they got the short end of the stick, they didn't discipline him in their "proper" way, they just went straight to drowning him. Honestly, this is a bit real because some people are so judgemental on how someone parents their children yet won't actually lift a finger to help them; those people just look down on the struggling parent and their children
this cartoon horrified me as a child with the drowning and beating done to the kid when he couldn't defend himself, very scary how the other animals easily could have killed him and then just shrugged it off as a "he deserved it"
Did anybody else notice the strange jumpcut at 1:43? It feels like something should be there. Maybe the master tape got damaged and it was cut out, or just an animation error the animation studio missed🤔
@@abigrace6235 It's sad Hunky and Spunky were unsuccessful and later forgotten. I think Paramount should bring them back like they did with Looney tunes
prixe12 Too bad I'm not. I'm and 80s kid. I don't claim any generation as I was raised with respect to my elders and not being an entitled whiney little snowflake like you. I'm a mix of old and new school. As fight club said I'm a forgotten child of history, no great depression no great war. Not yet until the liberal democrats fall and I can go hunting SJWs like you with impunity. I pray for the day.
Vanity on the GO Without having CPS called on you by the child themselves. I always thought that going into a foster home or into the system would be way worse than *gasp following rules and respecting your elders. I don't know when the world went from disciplining children to having to treat them like little adults with whom a conversation about feelings has to be had to get anywhere... Maybe that's why the world is in the F'd up situation it is now, minus the virus and all that jazz, but more to the point speaking on the amount of broken families, the amount of entitlement amongst the youth and the automatically hostile attitude to any form of authority even when said authority is trying to act in the youth's best interest all things considered.
Love cartoons like this!!! Childhood memories!
Nothing like the classics..👍
5:02 Spunky Threatened his Mother Hunky, Uh-Oh!

Spunky is very crazy

1:33 Bucket on his head, upset him?
Well, honestly, Spunky deserved that retaliation from the other barnyard animals, but still, they went a little overboard and almost killed him.
Yeah, what they did was attempted murder. And they got a taste of their own medicine when Hunky arrived.

Well, the mother also spanked him with the handle of the well when he was still being a brat.
Love it !!!!
what a LOT of misbehaving people (not JUST bratty kids) should have right now!
Notwithstanding he was an animal, he STILL needed to be taught a lesson!!!
Spunky use hydro pump against the mother duck at 2:37! It's super effective! LOL

Yay!!! A new upload!! ✌️🙂
rooster: i will fight!
also rooster: does nothing, disappears after the onslaught ensues and hunky dishes out the beatings
6:14 that sounds like the end of a popeye cartoon

Maybe it was slightly cut to avoid copyright claims? But we’ll never know. Good call though!
I kinda pay more attention to watching the cartoon than wondering what happened.

The only normal character of this episode is Hunky. Other characters, including "brat" Spunky, are at least weird. Funny cartoon otherwise.
