- Adding an accessory rear trunk to a Can-Am Spyder F3 to overcome the lack of storage space that will accommodate a full faced helmet.
Top Case is a SHAD 58X (www.shadusa.co...)
Luggage Rack is a "Baker Built Air Wings" Luggage Rack from Slingmods (www.slingmods....)
Opinions in this video are my own - please follow all manufacturer instructions for installation. I am not compensated in any way by Shad or Slingmods for this video.
I'm trying to install one of these to a friend's f3t...what luggage rack mount did you use...they don't actually make one for the f3t
I used a Baker Built Wings luggage rack and the generic mounting plate as I remember
Just purchased a 2016 f3t. I was looking to do the same thing that you did in this video. Do you have a link or description for the mounting plate you used?
The luggage rack is from Baker Built Air Wings bakerbuiltairwings.com/proddetail.php?prod=SPYF3LR
The mounting plate that connects to it is the SHAD universal mounting plate that came with the topcase
Technically I think my mounting plate was meant for a BMW but that’s just a question of the brackets - which you can customize very easily
I've been trying to get a top case for my 2021 f3t too. What is the part number for the Shad bag?
Where can I purchase one and is that the largest one?
I believe the 58/59X is the largest SHAD makes. The other main aftermarket manufacturer is GIVI but so far my SHAD seems to be higher build quality than the Givi I owned. SHADUSA is back ordered on them - I found mine searching “Shad 58x” on EBay. Part numbers are SH58x and SH59x.. The 59x is the same case with a metal top piece instead of carbon-effect plastic
Where did you get the rack and case from ?
I got the rack from Slingmods.com and the case off of Ebay (Shadusa.com is the maker of the case but they were backordered and I saved a few bucks that way)
You didn't show how to mount the plate on the rack... I'm struggling here....grrrrr!
My mount was specific since I had a "fitment" plate from a completely wrong bike.. basically what I did in mine was sandwich the luggage rack between the adapter plate from the Kawasaki bike and the universal adapter from SHAD. If you're using the SHAD kit (which I only have part of because I bought the case used) there should be something that looks like an oversized wing nut that you attach below the crossbars of the luggage rack.
@@AskDIYDad Look at Sids motorcycle world. They have this case and a rack kit to go with the case and Spyder
