I’m the type of guy who researches as much as possible about a product before I buy it. Part of my research is checking out installation videos. Out of all the videos I’ve seen regarding these lights, this is the only video that shows what goes on under the seat with the connections. The other videos talk about it but do not show it. Thanks for being so detailed. My only gripe about these lights is how the cable is visible. I wish there was a way to hide the cable. How do you feel about this?
Thank you, I appreciate that. I agree about the wire, but what else could they do? I was thinking of putting some white heat shrink on the wire so it blends in, but I’m not all that concerned. I have more of an issue with the cheap light housings HD put on these bikes.
@@BrandonsHarley Hogworkz has their cables for their saddlebag lights running inside the bags but they require drilling a hole. I was seriously considering those over CD’s but theirs were not compatible with ‘24 Road Glides.
Mine did not. These are the only lighting changes I’ve made. If you’ve installed other lights, you may need to install Custom Dynamics’ load leveling kit to prevent the dash light and/or hyperflashing turn signals.
I installed these as well as the lighting bars for the tour pak on a 24 RG....now get fast flashing turn signals. I tried doing a BCM sync and clearing codes that it threw, but did not work. Custom dynamics says I need to install a dynamic load isolator to clear codes and stop fast flashing turn signals. They said HD lowered load parameters on BCM to make it harder to use aftermarket lighting. Any experience or thoughts with this issue?
@@bradleysimon1811 as custom dynamic states that is what you will have to do. That typically happens if you replace or install more than one pair of lights.
You are installing Chi-comm junk shipped to North Carolina from China; the H-D electrical system is flashing faster as it reads it as needing repair. Literally.
Hey there fellow Texan. About time it cools down for some garage time! I have this on my list to order after Labor Day as well as the license plate removal project to be replaced with CD so glad I found this video to see how easy the job will be and the actually get a good look at the project. I have a 24 SG. Just a quick question regarding the lights on the saddle bags....is the sticky stuff on the lights really secure?
@@GAPalmer awesome! These are great bikes and CD makes great products. Yes, the tape is extremely secure. Had them on my previous bike for 20k miles and 5 years, no issues.
Good install video! Like the lights, but not a fan of seeing the wiring. The black wiring on white paint is noticeable where the light is attached to the bag and the first anchor point. Hopefully Custom Dynamics has an update planned for this.
I doubt CD will change their design as it has been the same for over a decade. It’s noticeable when you install and when you’re looking for it, but it’s not visible out on the road. People aren’t looking in that much detail. I was considering putting white shrink tubing on the wire but it really isn’t worth the extra 5 minutes.
Great video!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
Really nice clear helpful instructional video. Been a huge Custom Dynamics guy for years. Ride safe.

Hey Brandon, your videos are very good and informative, thank you from Brazil 😎🤘
Looks great! Great video and step by step!
Thats a beautiful bike you have there ❤
Looks sick
Does the warning light on the dashboard come on?

Think there is enough wiring to make it so they’re ran through the inside of the bag? Kinda like the Hogworkz ones?
I think so
Great install! What seat is that u have on there?

Good video, simple and clean install!
You are welcome to install lights on my saddle bag anytime you want! ❤

Do these not come in an amber turn signal?
You’ll have to contact Custom Dynamics. As far as I’m aware, no, they don’t make an amber turn signal on the saddlebag lights.
From China? No. They are shipped to N Carolina fr China; CS in N.C> blames H-D for everything, it's their way...

Nope.
Do they have the same ones like those that fit the 2024 CVO and CVO ST bags but do amber for turn signals and red for break and drive lighting?
