- As some of you may know, I'm not much of a fan of riding in the rain because of my slight "accident" caused by standing water. Therefore, I thought it would be good to teach others about what I've learnt so they don't make the same costly mistake I did.

Tyres slipped going round a corner at around 30k in the rain. Tyres slipped reaaaal easy so am trying to gain back my confidence when turning. Now I go around 20k even in dry conditions 😅 Thanks for this.
Glad I could help, hope you get the confidence back soon! I had a similar thing happen to me, hence the video
I just started riding a scooter and am really nervous about having to ride it in the rain. Thank you for this video, I will follow your tips.
Glad I could help!
Yo tysm I needed this! I always scooter to school and stuff but where I live, it's super rainy and slippery and walking distance to school is really far. People always tell me that its dangerous to scooter in rain but tysm, this actually really helped!
Cheers mate, glad I could help
I totally agree with what you say & demonstrate . Simple equation , Ride a bit more conservative equals ride longer , live longer .
Yep especially in the rain
Great video with tons of useful info. Thank you! I have to go help a family member move some things today and I'll be driving in the most substantial rain I've had to drive in since I bought the vehicle a couple summers back. This will help a lot!
All good!
Thank you very much I am an experienced car driver but new scooter rider. I have picked up valuable tips.
Good to hear!
Man ive been doing this for years now my wife uses the car and we have no need for 2 cars so i use the scooter riding in the rain is great fun especially when its dark and you cant see 😂
Yeah I quite enjoy it too - keeps you cool as well
Really like your videos , top guy. Keep it up
Cheers man
Good tips i will def use them !
Cheers
Great video. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That 364 days a year here in northern ireland good advice 👌
Haha yeah
Also great shoes especially at night People can SEE YOU lol good on ya mate
Lol
Thanks for the very informative video. I have my full Australian Licence in Sydney but wanna get a scooter. Going for my text in 2 weeks.
Good luck!
Thanks for a great video. All those manholes should be painted yellow. Do you think a Tricity would corner better and stop better in rain?
Yeah definitely - it feels a lot more grippy at the front end on the rain
Awesome vid. Just started riding a moped. 🔥👍
Nice man hope you're having lots of fun!
I only ride a scooter in the rain if I have to it's no fun.
yeah it's a little sketch
lol you can stretch it when it's wet.
I'm used to using my front brake and everytime I do I go down lol especially around turns. The road I rode on is like ice.
Oh goodness
I feel twice today thinking rain riding will be easy never again dry weather only
Found this useful
Good to hear
Thx!
All good!
mate you said somewhere near the end you were goin 35km/h ... I thaught if you were driving on the left side of the road you had miles per hour? I dont know where youre from, judging by your youtube name I would guess New Zealand? SO they have kilometers per hour there or is your scooter just a european export?
Yeah mate nz so km/h. 35k or 23mph
I hate riding my Vespa px in the rain, damn those small tires. I'm always praying I don't have to brake for a sudden orange light, my tires always slip. It's terrifying.
Yeah it's not pleasant. I learnt that the hard way when I ran over a puddle round a corner and went for a slide
@@KiwiCarLife Some wet vowels stones road also caused that for me to slide a little distance when a car slammed the brakes since then scared of riding in the rain.
Yeah it only takes one incident aye! You'll get your confidence back I'm sure. Main thing is just leave a big following distance I reckon
Im new rider and im nervous about riding in rain. Will using breaks in the rain will make me crash or no?
Ofc you won't crash you just need to be more gentle so you don't lock up
@@KiwiCarLife fine I'll try it in the next rain😅
Keep a long following distance and brake early and gently using the rear brakes,i find front brakes makes you slide easily (talking from experience,i flew off my scooter after using the rear brakes and because i was following too close i had to use the front brakes as well, and i fell so bad @35 to40km/h
Rain is no go i fell twice trying to get to turn going 5 mph im heavy never again
Oh dear
Advice for the wind?
Not much you can do tbh... Gonna get blown around on a 50
@@KiwiCarLife basically, don't go out?
@@matt1612 I live in Wellington and I was fine haha
@@KiwiCarLife it's just cause wind and rain are not exclusive where I live
RAIN IS WET!!
Yes
Seems very dangerous when compared with my car
Yes but it’s possible to still ride a scooter safely, and at the time I had this it was significantly cheaper. Good for me as a school student

Me, an American, trying to figure out why he was riding in the wrong lane.
Lol
The trick to all this is riding in the snow. Once you learn how to slide you're a real bike rider and rain will be nothing to you.
True, only works if you live somewhere where it snows
