Not really. Linux mint is literally a linux with no complexities. Its even cleaner and simpler than windows while also providing all the functionality of linux

You have live captions, touchpad gestures, decent settings app, standarized program manager which can manage all installed programs no matter from where u install. Now there's linux mint. No live captions, no touchpad gesture as good as windows (tried fusuma but its still gonna take longer to fully develop), no standarized program manager (mint uses anything as excutable sh, bin, packages, and it uses apt as package manager, what if I install through flatpak, snap, appimage and i forgot, lol i actually dont have any sense at where the programs at),, and for the final thing, mint looks absolutely horrible. Idk but cinnamon de? really? over windows fluent dekstop? they could use hyprland but nah. Mint absolutely looks horrendous.

Gareeb, seems you haven't seen the laptop which cost more than 40000-50000. There are many windows laptop which cost more than even mac laptop so think about labeling someone as gareeb only becasue they use windows laptop.

just a correction, we can play games on Linux natively using proton and wine. most of the games can be played, just few games can't be played like valorant coz its multiplayer game, all story line games can be played and some games run better than windows.

Linux by itself is just a kernel. You couldn't do anything on your device with just a kernel. Is android a Linux distro? Yes, but no. It is complicated. Is android a GNU/Linux distro? No!
Android is a Linux. Term Linux is only a kernel and android Linux is also considerable as Linux because it contains Linux kernel. You can even run Linux binaries and cli utilities in android as well but what stops it from doing it? Root access. Android's root access is blocked and you can't install or run Linux binaries. While other Linux distributions then they are not Linux first. They are generic operating systems first then Linux. Their packages contains system wise and management utilities as well but mostly their packages aren't binaries. Binaries are used at backend to calculate data but binaries can't provide GUI. GUI is rendered by using tons of libraries in different languages. Their packages are different than binaries and if only binaries could be considered then these binaries could be installed on Android as well but what stops it from doing it? No package manager utility, no root access. Android is only a marketing software used to catch and sell your privacies and store upon system. Traces left are called bloatwares. Bloatwares slows your device. Conclusions, android is reason why mostly people are addicted to RUclips. But you can't be addictive on Linux with some settings because generic distros are open source. It's only a trap to earn money. It can't sudo.

I mean if you are enjoying web development, you will always make better websites than an AI, and AI writes horribly performing code on a large scale so your website is probably gonna load faster too. But if you are demotivated, then your primary goal is probably to get a job asap rather than enjoying it soooo, maybe change space? I personally suggest getting a good understanding of a systems lvl language like C/C++ or even better Rust. It will help you a bunch!

Paisa hai aur zaroorat hai or agar tum future mein ipad or iphone loge to mac lo mai abhi school me padhta hu par mai jab college mein jaunga tab mai ek macbook lunga kyunki main cs pursue karunga future mein or uske liye mere according mac best hai.

I personally don't believe there's any good reason for a person to get mac over Linux unless they are a complete beginner. Windows is in a different league of it's own, literally no one can compete with the utility and practicality of windows. Somewhere it felt like Harry was trying to say "Paisa Kam ha to Windows lo, Jada Paisa ha to mac lo". I would like to say, don't fall into this misconception. Mac is very user friendly, and if you wanna gift a laptop to ur mum, or you wanna primarily work on a laptop, mac software is very optimised to work on their proprietary hardware, i.e. mac has unbeatable battery life and energy efficiency. If you are going to be using ur laptop for work and not gaming primarily, Mac is always going to save you more money on the long run. A mac will last you longer, will need less repairs and so on. If you are on a tight budget but you wanna start working as a graphic designer for say, I suggest you try to at least get a second hand mac cause trust me, you'll thank yourself later. On the desktop space though, Mac literally doesn't even come close to the flexibility or power windows can provide... Companies like Realtake, Nvidia, AMD optimise their hardware and drivers to work well with windows. It has massive application support, supports basically all file systems, is going to be waaayy more customizable compared to mac, and does come at a resource cost though. Windows pc is always going to be a significantly better value for money if you DIY build your pc(which I recommend to everyone planning to buy a PC cause it's legit not hard at all.) And windows is simply going to be a faster system overall. Windows is going to be the more snappier system given the right hardware. Windows can support hardware mac can't even fathom. Linux on the other hand is a bit complicated. Linux is open source and heavily community driven. Linux can be anything you want it to be. Among all 3 of these, Linux is a most customizable and with the right customisation, Linux is overall just better than both Windows and Mac. These two can't even come close to comparing with the flexibility of Linux. (Windows is still the king of gaming space though so if you are a game, don't even think twice. Get windows since most pc ports of games are made native to windows. Yes Linux can run them through emulation layers like Wine but the performance overhead is just not worth it.) Linux take a while to get used to. And in order to utilise Linux fully, you need to know your stuff as Linux people mostly have the "fix your own problems" kind of mentality. That doesn't mean no one will help you but you'd be much better off having a good understanding of your system and how computers work first. I personally have a desktop which I daily drive for gaming and productivity. I duel boot into it, with windows 11 and (I use Arch btw~). I mostly used my Arch system for basic tasks d coding cause I just have customised my Arch system to be just the way I like it and now I'm most productive in it. I use windows only when I need to play games (you can't play Valorant in Linux/mac). I also have used a mac air before for portability as my side driver and I enjoyed it. Highly recommended but I eventually decided to switch to an Asus Zenbook Oled. I have Arch installed and set up on it too and I personally like it better than mac cause I can customise how Arch works while Apple doesn't let me tinker at all. So in conclusion, if you have a desktop, Windows is always the 1st priority. Don't even think about mac, it's just pointless and not worth it and a waste of money. If you wanna be on a laptop, you should avoid windows at all costs because as I mentioned before, windows is very powerful hungry and does weird stuff like not going into deep sleep when you close a lid and stuff. Basically, it will drain your battery before you even realise what happened. Mac, go for a mac, it's always better utility wise, performance wise (Mac is Unix based so it works better on lower end hardware, so less power consumption and less heating issues.) But if you are confident in your computer knowledge, well then you wouldn't be reading this comment but Linux is jus superior. Arch will just work if you can make it work.

if you can use Iphone as a webcam, it can be done with an android phone too (with Windows) using a software - Droidcam which even makes android work as an microphone with webcam also...
I have a 2014 Mac Book Pro which does not get any OS or security updates anymore. I have installed Ubuntu on it and runs great. I can see using this laptop for several more years running Ubuntu Linux on it.

Umm... You should decide where do you want to head in CS. It's a very broad term. We have web development, embedded system development, Algorithm designing, Researching, Machine learning, Game development, etc. They all work differently tho, For game dev, you can purchase a gaming laptop, for ML a mac is recommended
Well don't do it actually, it may look good but remember that in the end you're just converting windows system calls to linux. And that is what causes some games not to run or produce some troubles and sometimes the GPU won't work in those situations, etc. some games can work and some games cannot. .

Android uses the Linux kernel but it is not really a GNU/Linux based distro. When we address the "Linux Operating System" we generally refer to the "GNU/Linux operating system". Linux by itself is just a kernel. You couldn't do anything on your device with just a kernel.

While other Linux distributions then they are not Linux first. They are generic operating systems first then Linux. Their packages contains system wise and management utilities as well but mostly their packages aren't binaries. Binaries are used at backend to calculate data but binaries can't provide GUI. GUI is rendered by using tons of libraries in different languages. Their packages are different than binaries and if only binaries could be considered then these binaries could be installed on Android as well but what stops it from doing it? No package manager utility, no root access.
Android is only a marketing software used to catch and sell your privacies and store upon system. Traces left are called bloatwares. Bloatwares slows your device.
Conclusions, android is reason why mostly people are addicted to RUclips. But you can't be addictive on Linux with some settings because generic distros are open source. It's only a trap to earn money. It can't sudo.

The system itself-opening and closing tasks, launching software-feels much faster. Even my MERN projects run noticeably quicker, making Ubuntu an excellent choice for efficient programming on older hardware.

I personally don't believe there's any good reason for a person to get mac over Linux unless they are a complete beginner.
Windows is in a different league of it's own, literally no one can compete with the utility and practicality of windows.
Somewhere it felt like Harry was trying to say "Paisa Kam ha to Windows lo, Jada Paisa ha to mac lo". I would like to say, don't fall into this misconception. Mac is very user friendly, and if you wanna gift a laptop to ur mum, or you wanna primarily work on a laptop, mac software is very optimised to work on their proprietary hardware, i.e. mac has unbeatable battery life and energy efficiency. If you are going to be using ur laptop for work and not gaming primarily, Mac is always going to save you more money on the long run. A mac will last you longer, will need less repairs and so on. If you are on a tight budget but you wanna start working as a graphic designer for say, I suggest you try to at least get a second hand mac cause trust me, you'll thank yourself later.
On the desktop space though, Mac literally doesn't even come close to the flexibility or power windows can provide... Companies like Realtake, Nvidia, AMD optimise their hardware and drivers to work well with windows. It has massive application support, supports basically all file systems, is going to be waaayy more customizable compared to mac, and does come at a resource cost though. Windows pc is always going to be a significantly better value for money if you DIY build your pc(which I recommend to everyone planning to buy a PC cause it's legit not hard at all.)
And windows is simply going to be a faster system overall. Windows is going to be the more snappier system given the right hardware. Windows can support hardware mac can't even fathom.
Linux on the other hand is a bit complicated. Linux is open source and heavily community driven. Linux can be anything you want it to be. Among all 3 of these, Linux is a most customizable and with the right customisation, Linux is overall just better than both Windows and Mac. These two can't even come close to comparing with the flexibility of Linux. (Windows is still the king of gaming space though so if you are a game, don't even think twice. Get windows since most pc ports of games are made native to windows. Yes Linux can run them through emulation layers like Wine but the performance overhead is just not worth it.)
Linux take a while to get used to. And in order to utilise Linux fully, you need to know your stuff as Linux people mostly have the "fix your own problems" kind of mentality. That doesn't mean no one will help you but you'd be much better off having a good understanding of your system and how computers work first.
I personally have a desktop which I daily drive for gaming and productivity. I duel boot into it, with windows 11 and (I use Arch btw~). I mostly used my Arch system for basic tasks d coding cause I just have customised my Arch system to be just the way I like it and now I'm most productive in it. I use windows only when I need to play games (you can't play Valorant in Linux/mac). I also have used a mac air before for portability as my side driver and I enjoyed it. Highly recommended but I eventually decided to switch to an Asus Zenbook Oled. I have Arch installed and set up on it too and I personally like it better than mac cause I can customise how Arch works while Apple doesn't let me tinker at all.
So in conclusion, if you have a desktop, Windows is always the 1st priority. Don't even think about mac, it's just pointless and not worth it and a waste of money. If you wanna be on a laptop, you should avoid windows at all costs because as I mentioned before, windows is very powerful hungry and does weird stuff like not going into deep sleep when you close a lid and stuff. Basically, it will drain your battery before you even realise what happened. Mac, go for a mac, it's always better utility wise, performance wise (Mac is Unix based so it works better on lower end hardware, so less power consumption and less heating issues.)
But if you are confident in your computer knowledge, well then you wouldn't be reading this comment but Linux is jus superior. Arch will just work if you can make it work.

I have a 2014 Mac Book Pro which does not get any OS or security updates anymore. I have installed Ubuntu on it and runs great. I can see using this laptop for several more years running Ubuntu Linux on it.
