When Disturbed decided to do a cover of this, they were originally planning to do a rock version just as they did with “Land of confusion”. However, one of the band members, Danny, suggested that instead of that, the band should use this orchestral approach to add to the “ethereal sensation” (I may be remembering things incorrectly). I found Disturbed with the Queen of the Damned soundtrack. Their song "Down with the Sickness" stayed on my playlist for years. Their older albums are indeed heavy rock :) This impressed so many Simon & Garfunkel cover haters. Disturbed were such a great ride live as well.
