- In this episode, I talk about the latest Black Flag Bug Zapper that I have purchased. The 2000 Volt zapper is about half the size of the 4500 Volt Black Flag Bug Zapper, uses a white or bluish light and is the cheapest of the three models. It also works just like the others and that's pretty darn well.
9 minutes of footage
1 hour of editing
I like the Three Bears correlation with the zappers
Plenty of lessons learned, like it's been almost 2 months since I shot the footage and it's been so dry here there's been very little mosquitos, or maybe the zappers are taking care of them. Хобби
Where did you get the pole for it ? I bought one and need one to hang it up lol.
I like to use Shephard's hooks. I kind of look for anywhere they are on sale, but large stores like Lowe's and Home Depot will have them, Walmart carries them sometimes, also local places like Ace Hardware, Bomgaar's, Fleet Farm, etc. can be good locations as well. A tall one can be a little pricey sometimes, so that's why I check websites and flyers for when one is on sale.
@@bigmikebeardwisdom thank you!!
Nice your so willing to laugh at life; very refreshing! Good info. Any thoughts on best way to weatherproof cord connection? THX. Be Well!
I prefer just using electrical tape on the connection. In this video ruclips.net/video/3A3k0LEPJSQ/видео.html at the 4:15 mark I show how I wrapped to extension cords together with tape. If you go take your time, you can make a waterproof seal on it. The 2 bug zappers I'm currently running have their connections sealed this way. I show it in this video about setting up a bug zapper ruclips.net/video/B63t8WMtE4c/видео.html but it's not a really good look at the tape job. Thanks for the comment and good luck with your bug zapper.
Mike, perhaps you spent more time in the video explaining "this is a little bigger than that one which is a little larger than this one,...etc. Time spent should have included crucial elements:
1). Show the product operation (zapping bugs)
2). Explain about a 18-24 in cord as a negative
3). Illustrate how to clean the bugs from the grill, electronic wiring and bowl/bottom or wherever bugs land and cleaning.
4). Express the price differences between all compared
5). Where it's best to hang and how
6). I'll stop here before I attempt to insult (which is not my style for someone trying to help others in their purchases. Thank you.

I appreciate the feedback. Maybe I'll do a Bug Zapper Tips and Tricks video that combines all the info into shorter bits.
Mike, it would not hurt to do an all-in-one on any topic you choose. I'm not one to watch very "multiples" of various videos when one video could have been nice, avoid repetition of "sizes 'n humor", etc. Buying any product is a serious consideration if kept serious. And "Tips 'n tricks" (I don't know how that's possible with a bug killer, in exception of picking great locations (to place OR not where to place), how to avoid mess (vs. cleanliness), etc. And, you don't have to stop at bug killers as any product evaluation will do. I've done evaluations for many years of products from Symantec (Norton), Microsoft, and so many others. Keep it up, but refine it to perfection. Do not be satisfied with the last one, but improve upon it. :-)
Can it be inside the house?
I wouldn't run one in my house as I'm pretty sure when the bugs get zapped they kind of explode and make a mess. Some companies market indoor bug zappers that look more like a flat panel, but again, I don't know how it contains the exploded bits. Also the Octenol lure is for outside use only, so if you were looking to catch mosquitoes, it's not going to work as well.
It's a trade-off - use inside and hear buzzing while watching TV or cooking, including the zap and the lighting OR spend a $1 for a nasty fly swatter and waiting a half hour for the flies, etc. to land. Either way, one loses. :-)
