I agree with Cynthia Moncrief's comments. Katherine is doing a wonderful job of bringing their life down to earth. She will follow on with the Queen's traditions when it is her turn. I am one of the old school and cannot forget that Prince Charles was so selfish and heartless to behave so childishly to his legal wife. About the ring, I think I read somewhere that some thought Diana chose it because it looked so similar to her own Mother’s ring. Maybe she thought that the ring was a positive thing as it reminded her of her Mom. The point is, she chose it and she wore it and so it comes from her really in that sense and I would think has great meaning to it just because of that alone :)
She stopped wearing it ,most do when relationship ends . and really never wear again. Making it into a Broach or dress ring would have been better all round .
She chose that ring because it was the biggest and and most expensive on the tray presented to her by Gerrards of London. That’s the truth of the matter.

When people marry quickly its usually for one of 3 reasons: its needed for legal status, the womans pregnant, or, they are very sure and have no reason to wait.
