i just traded up my Syulen for the Sabre Firebird... never flew it after the first day or two because you're absolutely right - we need a mid-tier cargo/transport ship. i'd also like to see an alien take on ground vehicles. since the Nox is alien and a hover vehicle, imagine a Xi'an hover tank! fast, hovers (of course) and comparable to the Storm maybe?? light to medium hover tank... would also like a hover "car" - we have so many bikes in the game, but we need a two seater vehicle like all the buggies, but in hover mode...
I agree Erad. Hopefully we get something like the Banu Triptaker mentioned in A Gift for Baba, cause that would be an amazing 'home' ship to explore the 'verse in. I would love it if it had a special display room for treasures that would double as an escape pod that you could reclaim later at a terminal and get your trinkets and sub-flairs back that way. As it is, no one really stores goodies or trinkets on their ship because its so easy to lose them to bugs or random explosions even when avoiding combat.
Access to the blade is not consitional on any AC game play or completing the vandual swarm. That would be the heavy fighter the Glaive, access after completing the 25 waves in the AC vandual swarm
Banu don't use/have bathrooms so medium or larger banu ships aren't useful for humans, the merchantman is a bazaar so might have customer bathrooms. In between not so much.
It would be smart for them to make a banu daily/medium cargo ship and would probably help with the bmm starting on a smaller scale but building off the defender art style
Only alien ship I have flown that I liked was the defender. Melted it because it did not have anything to offer over my tana which is ~1/4 the cost. With the store credit I got a Corsair for $15 less using a CCU chain. Not sure how CIG justifies some of the ship prices.
They are all basically starter ships which kinda limits the appeal of them outside of being unique in design. If they have more variety and more bigger ships that offer more than the minimum then you would probably see more people interested.
CIG has stated that they no longer wanted to release ships without their bespoke gameplay mechanics being in place. BMM requires a fully fleshed out player economy, player marketplace, player owned kiosks (at least) and a way for players to sell in the form of a store with shelves. BMM also requires some light form of a player operated prison. And they need to open those huge capital class hangars we see at landing zones like Loreville. The whole thing about CIG not having a competent artist was a lie, and an insult to every artist who worked for CIG. Any competent artist would have the skills to do way better than the current garbage. The exterior is a Carrack hull stretched and deformed (barely) into a bigger Carrack hull. Then the ugly wings and the weird top thing bashed on.
I like the blade. I'd buy one if it were $100 cheaper. But it's not sooo.. better luck next time cig marketing vampires. Drop the alien tax and maybe we can talk.
I'd not choose any of the alien ship over other alternatives. I don't see any of them worth it, beyond someone really liking the designs. For the price, features and capability, other manufacturers are ahead.
It’s things like alien tax (price hiking JUST because it’s “alien”) is what started the whole “Star Citizen is a scam” meme. I wouldn’t spend anything on alien ships in Star Citizen because of this “tax” BS. Why would anyone buy a ship that performs half as good as another, and at twice the price? That’s absolutely why we don’t see many around.
100% with you, I think every race would have some kind of miner, how else would their industry work in their home system? The same goes for other industries - From salvage to medical. I do love the ships in SC, I can understand why they take so long to make, there's so much detail! Regarding the current sale, for once my wallet is getting a break, thank you CIG!
All the Alien ships i had i replaced with better/cheaper ships. It's a bid sad that most alien ships are worse/more expensive than a non-alien alternative. We really need some Alien Miner, Cargo, Medical and/or Salvaging ships. For example the prowler. It looks good but is mostly useless. But a medical or small cargo variant would make sense. Or a slighly bigger Banu Defender with some Cargo capacity.
With all due respect I'm pretty sure your top choice is kind of garbage right now. It should be good but it isn't. Of all the ships for the prices the talon is the best as far as fighters go
The SQ42 video at last year's CitizenCon showed the NPCs talking about a Xi'an cargo ship. I think there's a chance that the Railen might have been completed for SQ42, and they are keeping it under wraps for players to discover during game-play.

I'll bet my left buttcheek we'll get a handful of vandul vehicles when sq42 finally comes out.

Alien Boarding Ship with Tentacles When? lol
CIG, take my money!!!
sadly, i have no interest in alien ships. overpriced and underperforming. alien tax, wtf
agreed. and as erad says they need more variety. Skins are cool at least.
I'd love to see a bounty hunting style alien ship with the same functionality of the Hawk.
And a mining ship as well!

It's alien Time!

I'm not interested in adding any of the alien ships to my fleet, but if the Prowler is a loaner, I may use it at XT to land players on the Idris.

an Alien conny or Corsair, something overpowered i can do almost anything with, size 3 shields, room for an Nursa. a bunch of size 5 guns!
I picked up some CCU upgrades for a future chain.

Thanks Erad!
I dig the alien ship designs, but the pricing keeps me away from pledging any. No alien tax for me.
The only alien ship im remotely interested on is the Railen. The Merchantman is a second but i would never use it as a soloist.
A new mining ship would be nice!
i hope they announce that they will resume work on the bmm thats all i want for alien week or at least a date they will start work

i own a Blade......and a Glaive
hmmhmm Vanduul heh?
I owned two OG Blades.. then used $0 CCU's on each of them to BMM's.

Erad, great video. I'll stick with my Ironclad, ty anyways...
we need alien characters also :D

Just gimme that banu triptaker
The one single answer is BMM.
These aliens don’t believe in cargo…

still not spending a dime until i get what i already paid been 5 years now as pretty and nice some new stuff is STILL NO GAME
So “Alien week” is just a regular week and you can buy ships that you can buy already most of the time. Big deal.

If it's more than $5 don't need any of them. Prices for these cartoon ships is absolutely ridiculous.
Cartoon?
Game assets are cartoon? LMFAO 😂😂😂
