how can you be that close to the ball and not call a blatant forward pass
It's allowed to float forward as long as it's backwards out of the hands. It was very flat out of the hands however I see much worse passes let go all the time.

It can't be checked or changed if it's not called during no normal play. It's mainly up to the touch judges to call it if the infield ref isn't in position to. The game is so fast now and asking the touchy to make these calls with any sort of conviction is ridiculous imo.

@@martinlongford replay the first highlight of the try, it is so far forward it is incredible, I know they don't do video ref on forward passes but how doesn't the linesman see it? Forward out of the hands is the law. What do you think? How can you justify that instead of just saying 'that's not how it works'?
