Please note the new 2020 Macbook Air and Macbook Pro with M1 chip currently won't do Dual extended monitors via WD19TB, don't think any thunderbolt works atm 20th Jan 2021. Will update as I find fix.
Hi! Thanks so much for your channel - you are helping me a lot with what some would consider basic stuff. I'm wondering if you have found any solution to this? I have a mac with an M1 chip and two external monitors that cannot be daisy chained.
@@michael_5 there's only one dell dock that works with m1 macs at the moment, D6000. you will have to live with displayLink, native resolutions, no scaling (unusable with 2k screens).

Thank you! I ended up using the WD19TB and connected one of the monitors directly with hdmi to the dock and the other monitor is connected to the dock with a simple DisplayPort to ucb-c adapter (instead of the DA300) and it works perfectly
Welcome to my videos Amit Schechter, fantastic to hear great outcome on your end, yes any simple converter adapter to USB-C will work the main thing is to plug the second monitor via USB-C at the thunderbolt port at the back of the dock.
@@BsianTech This is the solution I'm working on but I can't get the screen to connect through the WD19TB. My Dell monitor only has VGA & DisplayPort Inputs. Do you think that's the issue?
FYI for anyone who comes after me. I ended up using Amit's solution. I have one monitor plugged in to mirror my macbook pro via hdmi. Then I have a second monitor through the Dell power dock via hdmi. It finally worked after I downloaded and set up display link on my mac. That was the piece that was giving me a problem. So happy to finally have figured this out!
@@cyclesofchange I copied your strategy and it worked perfectly for me as well. It is the only solution I have found to work for my MBP 14inch M1 Pro. The 2 monitors are each Dell P2422H and a Dell WD19 docking station. 1 monitor directly plugged into the MBP with HDMI. The second monitor connects to the Dell power dock via HDMI. USB-C from the dock then plugged into the MBP. I also downloaded display link on my MBP. The monitor mirroring my MBP happened as default. Amazing. Thank you!
Hey I appreciate your testing of the dock including this follow-up. I wanted to know myself, so I bought one of those docks for my 2019 16" MBP. And I totally regret that. If you want to use your MBP productively, use an Elgato dock instead. Every morning when I connect my MBP to the dock, the dock won't wake up by itself. After I woke it up in most cases I have to disconnect and reconnect the TB-Cable up to 7 or 8 times until all Screens work, USB works and I can just use it as intended. But the "fun" doesn't stope there: When I send my MBP to sleep during i.e. break I often have the samle problem again after waking it up. Sometimes Screen A works and the USB from Screen B works too, but not Screen B itself. Sometimes both screens work, but USB from Screen B won't work. This normally requires me to reconnect the TB-Cable again and again until it works just fine. Well - now I know for sure and I can't recommend this dock in its (and Mac OS's) current state of compatibility.
Buddy made my day! Im using the WD19 for work and was trying my macbook on it then seen this video im using a USB C to HDMI adapter in the thunderbolt port and then a DisplayPort cable but im using a Single DisplayLink adapter and I have three physical screens now :) thank you sir!
I just hooked up my second monitor using the thunderbolt on the back of my dell docking station and it didn’t work. I have a MacBook Pro 2020. What am I doing wrong?
I had this same issue. I accidentally found a fix for this. Here is the hack 1. Connect both monitor(1. via HDMI/Displayport, 2. Via type-c port) 2. Unplug dock from MBP 3. Switch off main monitor(One connected via HDMI/Displayport) 4. Plug dock toMBP and wait until you get a output in second monitor(connected via type-c) 5. Then switch on first monitor and wait voila
@Brooke Weaver I have the same problem. I have a MBP 2020 and hooked the second screen through the USB-C but couldn't get both screens working at the same time. Have you fixed it?
You don't have to buy another expensive dock just to connect a display. I have 2x27" 4k displays running on a 2018 MacBook Pro 13" at full resolution without any problems. One is connected to the WD19TB's DisplayPort output. Another one connects to WD19TB's Thunderbolt jack on the back, using an active Thunderbolt 3 to DisplayPort adapter. Just plug the cables and you're good to go.
Hi, I have a Macbook Pro M1 2020 and the Dell WD19TB. Is it possible to do dual extended monitors? Or am I better off purchasing the Dell D6000? At the moment, I can only get the screens to mirror. Would appreciate any help? Thanks
I’m still stubbornly trying your suggestion of using the TB port on my TB16 with a usbC to miniDP converter and a miniDP to HDMI cable by Apple but no joy… there is no way I can do this using the TB out from my iPad Pro! I tried using a borrowed Dell laptop to upgrade the firmware of the Tb16 but it always stops halfway, no joy there either. I guess I’ll try the 325 buck Caldigit dock!
I continue to struggle to find a plug-and-play solution for Dual monitors for both my Dell Laptop and my Macbook Pro (touchbar). Maybe this is it. I only need dual external monitors so using one on HDMI and one on TB is ok for me so long as I have one cable to plug into my laptops. I don't believe my Latitude 5500 is a TB connection rather a regular USB-C connection so wondering if this will end up working for me given you had to use the TB connection from the dock. Thoughts?
Hi Sean Cunningham, I understand how hard this could be trying to find a simple plug and play solution for both MBP and windows laptop to have just even dual monitors (simple request yet Apple made it so hard). I do know that the Latitude 5500 can be configured come with USB-C non-thunderbolt chip. If you are looking to use both my suggestion is to not look for a thunderbolt dock since the Latitude 5500 isn't going to support it. I made a little video about finding out number of lanes for thunderbolt but you can use this same video to find out if your USB-C port is thunderbolt or not (ruclips.net/video/NeojzI0ilmw/видео.html) if you don't see any thunderbolt listed after plugging things to the USB-C on your laptop then you know you got the non-thunderbolt version. As for Dock recommendation if you have non-thunderbolt version of the 5500 look for an universal dock that uses Displaylink, two examples Dell D6000 and Totu Universal USB-C 4k docks. Using Displaylink drivers will make both the MBP and windows laptops work with the Dock but be noteful there is a drawback on Displaylink docks they do run the CPU harder than have thunderbolt docks natively render the display for the monitors. With DisplayLink will do extra encoding of the video signal to output to the monitors. I hope this assist with you finding a solution.
I have this docking station, a 5k monitor and a 2k monitor. I'm trying to plug both monitors into my dock, which then plugs into my macbook pro m1. What happens is the 5k resolution is dropped to 2k to match the 2k monitor, and the two external monitors are duplicating the image. When both monitors are connected, the 5k monitor doesn't even appear in displays. How can I get this to work?
Hi Bsian, thanks for the video. I have a question though: Will the same setup work with Dell WD19S? BTW- I have two HP VH240a monitors and they have HDMI and VGA out. So I am using one HDMI to DP cable and for other I am using HDMI cable and HDMI-USB-C adaptor. So one monitor goes in DP and the other goes to thunderbolt on the dock.
Hi @Vaibhav Chokhawala, I am taking a guess you a running a Mac and trying to get this to work in dual extended monitor display. The WD19S won't be able to do it, you need the WD19TBS the thunderbolt version, how you are describing is correct but HDMI-USB-C adaptor goes into the USB-C(thunderbolt port) at the back of the WD19TBS. Also this is for the Macs with the Intel processor, if you have a Mac with the M1 processor then this dock doesn't work for it at all. Apple broke this thunderbolt dual display support. If you have a Mac with M1 processor you will need to look for a Dock that runs off DisplayLink Drivers, these are considered as Universal Docks, usually with USB-C with USB-A adapter included.
Great video love the channel I have a Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017 and attempting to hook it up to the dell wd19tb with no luck , Im only get mirror on the two monitors i have but want to extended to both .
I don't have a DA300 but I tried it with another USB-C-HDMI adapter and it worked too. BUT: my external screens are QHD and the one which is connected via the extra adapter is capped at 30Hz and it's notably laggy. If I reduce the resolution to Full-HD i can set it to 60Hz. If I connect it with the same adapter directly to the macbook I can get 60Hz. This is a warning to others with similar setups like this! For me it's not a usable solution
⚡️ WOW. Voodoo! I think I was grinning more than him! So, to confirm: 1) monitor via HDMI --> WD19TB. 2) monitor via DP --> DA300 via usb-c --> WD19TB. correct?? lastly, wanted to confirm a few more things: 3) Did the laptop fan go on at any point?? have you tried this config for extended periods of time?? 4) Did the dock heat up at any point? Also glad to hear from some comments that 3rd party adapters have worked.
Look for DisplayLink driver docks (they are usually universal docks) eg. Dell D6000 they will allow dual, triple monitor support still on the MacBook M1
Hi BsianDad, I've come across your video as I'm looking for a docking solution to enable the connection of 2 Dell U2722D monitors to both my wife's 2016 Macbook Pro (through a thunderbolt port) and my Dell Latitude 7400. I am just about settled on using the WD19TB as the docking station but need some clarity on the use of both laptops - not at the same time! Will this connection solution for the Macbook Pro (one monitor via DisplayPort and the other through the Thunderbolt port via the DisplayPort to USB-c adapter) which enables extended display also work equally as well when I have my Dell laptop docked?
Hi Michael, you have describe the correct way to connect the second monitor to the dock via the thunderbolt port at the back of the WD19TB even if its through the DP to USB-C adapter. This will allow Macbook Pro 2016 have extended dual external monitor display just like the Dell 7400 you have. So both will work =).
@@BsianTech Many thanks for the confirmation. Now I just have to track down a supplier who has the item available for delivery within a decent timeframe!

Quick question, will a new 2021 macbook pro work with the dell dock WD19S? I'm only able to make a mirror image on the dual monitors, so I'm guessing that this dock isn't supported by my macbook pro.
Good video mate, thank you for helping me with this choice in deciding which dock to get since the belkin one is so darn expensive and I'm tossing up between the WD19 and the Caldigit TS3+ (Macbook pro 16) and I just bought one! Thanks
Got any response to several people below? So if have an M1 I and screwed for dual monitors forever and ever with the WD19TB? I don’t want to buy the d6000. Just got this 19 one and 2 -2k monitors. Fatal flaw Apple!!!!
Hi, thank you for the video. I am kinda lost here. I was after WD19TB to connect the dual monitor on my MacBook Pro 2018 by using thunderbolt 3 connections. I have 27" (2k) and 32" Full HD monitor that I want to connect. Do I have to buy D6000 or DA300 as well to use WD19TB? Would you give me advice with your tech knowledge? Thank you.
Hi Ryan Lee, to get the MBP to work with dual monitors with the WD19TB you must connect the second monitor using the thunderbolt port at the back of the dock. Since most people don't have a USB-C monitor, you will need a converter from USB-C to either HDMI/Display-port/VGA/DVI what ever your second monitor cable will be. So in my instance I had the DA300 handy and used that as a converter from USB-C to Display-port. You don't need the Dell D6000 that is another docking station entirely. I hope that clears it up a little bit for you =).
Hey, so I if have a MacBook Pro and just want to use one extra monitor, I can buy Dell Dock Station WD19TB and it will work on extended mode? One MacBook and one monitor
Hi. I am using a macbookpro with a DELL TB16. It just outputs to a single monitor. Will a DA300 connected to the thunderbolt port on the TB16 enable a second monitor output? Thanks for your videos
This will depend on your computer, if your computer has thunderbolt then the WD19TB would be more ideal for first able to provide more power to the computer and faster data transfers. If you don't have thunderbolt port then easy choice left is the D6000.
Hi BrianDad - I connected my laptop via the usb-c port on the dock. I have 2 monitors plugged into the doc. Both monitors turn on but are mirrored. The mirrored setting is turned off but I can’t seem to extend the displays. So I have the laptop monitor and 2 other monitors mirroring each other. Can you please help me?
Hi BsiadDad, am I able to use a 2013 Macbook Pro through TB adapters with this dock? Also, did you ever get the dock's power button to work on the macbook?
Hi Rayhan Mirza , unfortunetely you won't be able to use this dock with the 2013 MBP as the thunderbolt is a different plug ending, the WD19TB thunderbolt ending is the USB-C which the 2013 MBP doesn't have that type of port. Look at the Dell D6000 dock instead and again it hasn't got a power button =(.
Hi Matthew Ma, there is support for dual 4K with the WD19TB, you need to make sure first your laptop has thunderbolt which this dock connects to. As for dual 4K support pretty much as long as the monitors isn't connected to the USB-C port (thunderbolt port which is at the end of the dock is okay), else all other display ports is fine. You can find more information here: www.dell.com/support/manuals/au/en/audhs1/dell-wd19tb-dock/wd19_tb_userguide/display-resolution-table?guid=guid-5558fc88-5c31-4e2c-90be-42359855a1ae&lang=en-us
Matthew Ma if it’s a MacBook 16 then you can use one DisplayPort or HDMI port for one monitor and the second monitor must go through the thunderbolt port at the back of the WD19TB (you can use a converter to USB-C if need be) else it will only go in mirror mode.
@@mxc0317 it should do dual 4k monitor on displayport and thunderbolt or HDMI and thunderbolt, in those two combo for the mac my thoughts. I don't have dual 4k monitors to test it out myself sorry.
I preface my comment by saying I am only very recently learning about this stuff so please feel free to correct anything I get wrong. From what I understand, another way to use multiple monitors is on many recent monitors themselves by daisy-chaining the monitors ie, linking them from the input of a single USB-C from the laptop, this requires the laptops output of said USB-C to have multiple lanes, 3 lane usb for instance, this allows you to then plug a single USB C cable to the first monitor and then use additional cables to connect from the back of that monitor to a second monitor and potentially a 3rd monitor or from the second monitor to a 3rd monitor. Using this method requires computers that were released from intel 7 series I think it is and having the multi-lane USB-C. As you can likely tell my knowledge on this subject is a bit unsure so please before investing money check into all this before going ahead. As a bonus, this system is very clean as depending on the monitor, you only need 1 cable going to and from your laptop as the high band USB-C will not only transfer the data but it will also charge your laptop. If you pair this with a wireless keyboard and mouse you have a really clean and tidy setup....well until you fill it with stuff like my desk 😋
I’m getting in a Dell USB-C one instead of LG because I see it had more inputs compare to the LG plus more adjustable which is what I hate about LG, don’t get me wrong I have LG as well just that stand is really annoying. The Dell can power charge as well through its USB. Lol as my desk yeah I try tidy it up every 6 months but it just gets cluttered quickly
@@BsianTech Well I have had Dell in the past, one currently sits unused on my desk, they generally make great monitors too, I wasn't aware they had a USB-C one as I have not looked at them recently, I have previously bought the monitors focused on colour calibration from Dell, I think I have only ever had one issue with one monitor and it was too much light bleed but the warranty crew were really great to deal with.
Hi DESERT CASTLE SCHOOL SCHOOL, did you connect the second monitor to the thunderbolt port at the back of the dock or is connected to the Displayport or HDMI ports?
Can anyone help? I have the WD19TBS and a MacBook Pro (not M1). I will buy two monitors, but what connections must they have to use this dock in extended display, both HDMI and DisplayPort? Because the dock can take one USBC and one HDMI? The monitor I was planning to buy 2 of has HDMI only. I plan to use the computer in clamshell docked.
Hi @Rachel Hooper, you have to have one of the monitors off the HDMI port on the dock and the second monitor run off an adapter from HDMI to USB-C. Then plug that monitor into the USB-C port at the back of the WD19TBS (not the front USB-C port) to get dual extended display for the Macbook Pro.

Thank you! Do you think if we put a hdmi usb c cable into thunderbolt port will work too? Or only works with dell DA adapter? And this connection now also works with windows pc?
Checkout my comment above, it will depend on a few factors including whether the hdmi to USB-C cable has enough bandwidth to power the monitors, something I’m not sure about.
HI Marcelo, if you use a hdmi to usb-c adapter into thunderbolt port it will work too, I have tested this on the dell DA adapters, the Apple adapters and Alogic and StarTech adapter which I have here so it seems pretty universal. With the Windows PC I have the Latitude 5401 and 7400 connected to the WD19TB and it will work with 3 external monitors in extended desktop mode fine (using the HDMI, 2x Displayport configurations) so you can do it with any configurations just be mindful the HDMI and USB-C (DP) port at the back share hardware so only one will work at a given time for display output.
BsianDad I would be interested to know that too, I would think it may relate to how high the resolution the monitors are and the strength of the internal or external graphics card but I’m not sure about this, it would be an interesting experiment. The Mac should do pretty well as we know they will run with a 5K monitor nicely.
Yes the WD19TB will support dual 4k @ 60hz monitors. Provided that your laptop/device is thunderbolt. Your device/laptop is non-thunderbolt it will not support dual 4k @ 60Hz. Page 22 of dl.dell.com/topicspdf/dell-wd19tb-dock_users-guide3_en-us.pdf will assist you in the display resolution table.
Hey BsianDad, I can see that you are using the DELL WD19TB in this video, can you test this with the DELL WD19, because that is what i have and its not working, i have been buying multiple docks for this but i dont know why its not working, thank you!
Hi CodingWithSam, I am taking a guess you using a MBP? If so then the normal WD19 will only work with one external monitor, you need the thunderbolt port on the dock which the WD19TB has to support the second external monitor. This is to do with Apple limitations which is really annoying.
So far in my testing yes but there is one scenario I haven't tested which is to have a thunderbolt monitor, have the one monitor connected via DP or HDMI, second monitor being a true thunderbolt monitor connected via thunderbolt port then have a third monitor connected to the thunderbolt monitor to see if the MBP is able to do three external extended monitors.
You will need to install first the displaylink drivers for the mac (can be found here: www.displaylink.com/downloads/macos) after installing it make sure in System Perferences > Security that you allow Displaylink manager to run. After that just start up the application DisplayLink Manager and the dock will start to display to the external monitors. As for the USB headset it should just work on the mac, even through the dock without displaylink drivers installed. If it doesn't work I would suggest to go to the headset website and look for the drivers for the mac to install Anh Ngyyen. Hope that help you out.
i have a Dell Thunderbolt Dock - WD19TB and I am having issues getting 2 4k monitors to display at 4k. one will show 4k and the other in HD, both using the display ports on the dock. Any thoughts?
Hi jordan slaughter, assuming your laptop has thunderbolt and that the dock is connected to the correct thunderbolt port (not just a USB-C port, some laptops have both), knowing that you are able to get one 4k monitor to work with the WD19TB, I know and from the documentation the WD19TB does support dual 4k@60hz monitors on thunderbolt connection to the computer. What I actually suspect instead is actually the second monitor might have a faulty DisplayPort cable or a DisplayPort 1.2 cable which would effectively bring the second monitor resolution to FHD. If you try swap the working 4k monitor cable to the second screen just to see if that would bring that second monitor to 4k mode or not. Other thought I would be also be doing is upgrading your graphics drivers too as this could effect driving the second monitor or installing the proper monitor drivers for the actual monitor as that can also limp the monitor when display is extended mode. Hope one of these tips could help your issue. WD19Tb supported resolutions(www.dell.com/support/manuals/us/en/04/dell-wd19tb-dock/wd19_tb_userguide/display-resolution-table?guid=guid-5558fc88-5c31-4e2c-90be-42359855a1ae&lang=en-us).
Will the Dell WD19TB charge your MacBook Pro? Will the dual monitor screens awaken with movement from a wireless mouse when connected to the dock? Or do you have to reopen the MacBook Pro every time?
@Ashwani Kumar I later learnt that this dock doesn't need or run the displaylink software so it won't make much difference, all you need to do is plug in the second external monitor to the thunderbolt port at the back of the WD19TB, this will only work for non-M1 macbooks.
@@BsianTech Thanks for your reply. Actually I saw this video ruclips.net/video/G55QhCJL4gY/видео.html where vlog is explaining the process, can you have a quick look?
Hi Terra Pura, the WD19TB is a usb-c connection dock and the MBP 2014 doesn't have the USB-C port. My suggestion for the 2014 MBP is the Dell D6000 universal dock this will have the USB 3 connection you required.
Hi Himanshu, welcome to my videos, the Dell WD19TB (make sure it's the TB version) is a thunderbolt dock so it should be the same result as the Macbook Pro in this video.
@@BsianTech thanks! I have my two monitors connected to the dell thunderbolt dock and I am wondering what kind of wire is needed to connect macbook air to dock?
Hey Bsian. Nice review. Clear and to the point. I got a question though. I have a Macbook Pro 2017(touch bar) and I have three external monitors that I want it connected to while I close my Macbook lid. Frankly, I don't see the point of all those ports if I can only use one of them 😄. So I was wondering if you could tell me how I get to use all three monitors. They're all HD monitors with HDMI/Display ports. Thanks
Thank you for your in depth review of those very important accessories almost nobody cares in YT ;-) Any chance to test this one on a PC laptop ? I had the chance to use the D6000 (who has no TB3 port, just USB-C) with a 2018 XPS 15 and managed to connect 3 ext. monitors (one 4k + one 2.5k + one FHD) + the XPS internal 4k one by connecting one directly to the HDMI port. So in total 4 monitors with just a USB-C dock ! The only problem came from the software Displaylink as the monitors connected could not use the "night light" option included in W10 and it is a shame as I always use it by night. And Dell customer Service confirmed me there will not be an update :-( As I maybe will buy a new XPS 15 with 2 TB3 + 1 USB-C, I could imagine connect again my 3 monitors but, in this case, by using the WD19TB in order to use all the W10 features :-)
I’m using one display port to thunderbolt 3 connection and display port to display port and it’s still not working for me. I’m still having the same mirroring problem. I don’t have any display link drivers downloaded.
I am taking a guess you are connecting to a Mac? Is the thunderbolt adapter connected to the back thunderbolt 3 port on the dock? Also make sure it’s not just the normal WD19 dock
@@BsianTech Yes I am using a Mac, and I figured it out. I didn't know I had to plug into the actual thunderbolt 3 port. Before this I was plugging it into the usb-c enabled display-port port. Couldn't clearly see which one you were using in the video but no worries! I'm glad you made these reviews! Thank you.
Great to hear you got the WD19TB working with your Mac finally. Hi BsianDad, I have a 2019 MacBook Pro, two Dell QHD monitors, the WD19TB dock and the DA300. I have the MacBook connected via Thunderbolt to the dock. One of the monitors is connected to the DP port on the dock. I connected the DA300 to the Thunderbolt 3 port on the dock (not the USB-C Multifunction DisplayPort) and then Display Port to the monitor. The problem is whichever monitor is connected through the DA300 only has a 1080p resolution. The one connected directly to the DP port has QHD resolution. I've switched the monitors between the two ports to be sure it isn't a cable/monitor problem. But when I connect the DA300 straight in to a Thunderbolt port on the MacBook it get QHD resolution on both screens. This is a workaround but also a bit of a pain. Any ideas?
In case anyone had the same problem with screen resolutions as me, I purchased a USB-C to DP cable as a couple of others have done and connected one of the monitors to the Thunderbolt port on the dock and the other as normal to one of the DP ports and both monitors now have 1440p resolution and without the need for the DA300

Amazing. Thank you!
WoW, really nice to hear Dell got in contact with you, you should make sure you take advantage of this in getting review samples 🐨
Yes it was really nice that they reached out and as always we learning things =).
My MBP 14" M1 Pro worked with my WD19TB out of the box (startup setup already via two external monitors). One connected via DP, the other one via TB3.
Here is the hack
1. Connect both monitor(1. via HDMI/Displayport, 2. Via type-c port)
2. Unplug dock from MBP
3. Switch off main monitor(One connected via HDMI/Displayport)
4. Plug dock toMBP and wait until you get a output in second monitor(connected via type-c)
5. Then switch on first monitor and wait
voila
@Brooke Weaver I have the same problem. I have a MBP 2020 and hooked the second screen through the USB-C but couldn't get both screens working at the same time. Have you fixed it?

@@jibingeorge2007 thanks! I have tried but with no success. I can't get both monitors running at the same time. =/
Would it be great to have some quick diagrams in the video, to help illustrate your connections?
You don't have to buy another expensive dock just to connect a display. I have 2x27" 4k displays running on a 2018 MacBook Pro 13" at full resolution without any problems. One is connected to the WD19TB's DisplayPort output. Another one connects to WD19TB's Thunderbolt jack on the back, using an active Thunderbolt 3 to DisplayPort adapter. Just plug the cables and you're good to go.
i think that only gets you 30hz refresh though

@@BsianTech Hey, thanks for the detailed explanation. It's very helpful.
It's there a easy way to get triple monitor using Wd19tb? Maybe in clamshell mode?
Great video love the channel I have a Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017 and attempting to hook it up to the dell wd19tb with no luck , Im only get mirror on the two monitors i have but want to extended to both .
This worked for me! Thank you!
Fantastic to hear!
For me it's not a usable solution
great point. I was considering trying this for a 2nd monitor, but it's also going to be ultra wide, and I'm hoping this would not be an issue.
How quiet is wd19tb? Can you hear fans?
I am looking for the best docking station for my xps9500, but it should be very very quiet.
Hell yeah! I have a DA300 adaptor and it did the trick. Thanks a million!
You're very welcome. Absolutely fantastic to hear that worked for you adding the DA300 in there =)!
is it possible to connect WD22TB4 docking station with MacBook Air M1 2020 and 2 screens Dell U2722D?
⚡️ WOW. Voodoo! I think I was grinning more than him! So, to confirm:
1) monitor via HDMI --> WD19TB.
2) monitor via DP --> DA300 via usb-c --> WD19TB.
correct??
lastly, wanted to confirm a few more things:
3) Did the laptop fan go on at any point?? have you tried this config for extended periods of time??
4) Did the dock heat up at any point?
Also glad to hear from some comments that 3rd party adapters have worked.
Thank you very much for your video, which docking station do you recommend for working with Maсbook Air on M1?
Look for DisplayLink driver docks (they are usually universal docks) eg. Dell D6000 they will allow dual, triple monitor support still on the MacBook M1
Hi
BsianDad, I've come across your video as I'm looking for a docking solution to enable the connection of 2 Dell U2722D monitors to both my wife's 2016 Macbook Pro (through a thunderbolt port) and my Dell Latitude 7400.

Any other docs that support Mac and extended monitors (two)? That maybe are a little cheaper...
I hope that clears it up a little bit for you =).
used a generic usb c to cdmi port and it enabled the dual/ triple monitor function
Nice job man!
What Dock is better? Dockin Station D6000 or Dell WD19TB?
This will depend on your computer, if your computer has thunderbolt then the WD19TB would be more ideal for first able to provide more power to the computer and faster data transfers. If you don't have thunderbolt port then easy choice left is the D6000.
Hi BrianDad - I connected my laptop via the usb-c port on the dock. I have 2 monitors plugged into the doc. Both monitors turn on but are mirrored.
BsianDad Not even with Tb3 adapter?
Can you test line-out port on the back? It is not working for me. Am using MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2018, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports).
Using a USB C to HDMI cable + either HDMI or DisplayPort output does not work for my M1 Pro Macbook
Thank you for the information. I am considering buying this dock. Would this two-monitor setup support 4K? or at least one 4K monitor?
Hi Matthew Ma, there is support for dual 4K with the WD19TB, you need to make sure first your laptop has thunderbolt which this dock connects to. As for dual 4K support pretty much as long as the monitors isn't connected to the USB-C port (thunderbolt port which is at the end of the dock is okay), else all other display ports is fine. You can find more information here: www.dell.com/support/manuals/au/en/audhs1/dell-wd19tb-dock/wd19_tb_userguide/display-resolution-table?guid=guid-5558fc88-5c31-4e2c-90be-42359855a1ae&lang=en-us
@@BsianTech Thank you! The laptop is the macbook 16.
Matthew Ma if it’s a MacBook 16 then you can use one DisplayPort or HDMI port for one monitor and the second monitor must go through the thunderbolt port at the back of the WD19TB (you can use a converter to USB-C if need be) else it will only go in mirror mode.
@@BsianTech I am wondering about 4K support with the setup you described above. I'll post back if I found out first. 🙂
@@mxc0317 it should do dual 4k monitor on displayport and thunderbolt or HDMI and thunderbolt, in those two combo for the mac my thoughts. I don't have dual 4k monitors to test it out myself sorry.
Would this work with a Macbook (2015 model)?
Hi BsainDad!! Do you know if WD19TB works with DELL G5 5590? Can you guide about this scenario? Thanks in advance!
Thanks MaZEEZaM, I haven't thought of daisy chain the monitors. I will try get hold of USB-C displays for future videos to test this idea out.
BsianDad Try to get one that will also charge the laptop if you can, LG offers several.
BsianDad btw, sounds funny but I like that your desk is as untidy as mine lol
Hello.I am able to see both monitors, but cannot view different screens at the same time.

2. Unplug dock from MBP
3. Switch off main monitor(One connected via HDMI/Displayport)
4. Plug dock toMBP and wait until you get a output in second monitor(connected via type-c)
5. Then switch on first monitor and wait

Hi Adrian, how many monitors are do to connect?
BsianDad amazing!!! It works for me too! Thanks to you and your friends in dell! Now it’s great tool for windows and Mac!
No problems mate, I like to see how far we can push this in terms of number daisy chain of usb-C monitors for the Macbook pro.
BsianDad I would be interested to know that too, I would think it may relate to how high the resolution the monitors are and the strength of the internal or external graphics card but I’m not sure about this, it would be an interesting experiment. The Mac should do pretty well as we know they will run with a 5K monitor nicely.
Will this for with dual 4K 60 Hz monitors?
BsianDad Thabjs did the clarification, that’s cool I’ve already returned it, the WD19, trying to get the WD18TB now. Thanks
So this means you can only have two external screens for Mac, with wd19tb?
So far in my testing yes but there is one scenario I haven't tested which is to have a thunderbolt monitor, have the one monitor connected via DP or HDMI, second monitor being a true thunderbolt monitor connected via thunderbolt port then have a third monitor connected to the thunderbolt monitor to see if the MBP is able to do three external extended monitors.
Can you help me ? How to connect dell -d3100 to Macbook pro 2020 ? Because I bought headset , it have usb . I don't know how to connect?
You will need to install first the displaylink drivers for the mac (can be found here: www.displaylink.com/downloads/macos) after installing it make sure in System Perferences > Security that you allow Displaylink manager to run. After that just start up the application DisplayLink Manager and the dock will start to display to the external monitors. As for the USB headset it should just work on the mac, even through the dock without displaylink drivers installed. i have a Dell Thunderbolt Dock - WD19TB and I am having issues getting 2 4k monitors to display at 4k. one will show 4k and the other in HD, both using the display ports on the dock.

@Ashwani Kumar I later learnt that this dock doesn't need or run the displaylink software so it won't make much difference, all you need to do is plug in the second external monitor to the thunderbolt port at the back of the WD19TB, this will only work for non-M1 macbooks.

Any chance to test this one on a PC laptop ?
I had the chance to use the D6000 (who has no TB3 port, just USB-C) with a 2018 XPS 15 and managed to connect 3 ext. monitors (one 4k + one 2.5k + one FHD) + the XPS internal 4k one by connecting one directly to the HDMI port. So in total 4 monitors with just a USB-C dock !
The only problem came from the software Displaylink as the monitors connected could not use the "night light" option included in W10 and it is a shame as I always use it by night.
And Dell customer Service confirmed me there will not be an update :-(
As I maybe will buy a new XPS 15 with 2 TB3 + 1 USB-C, I could imagine connect again my 3 monitors but, in this case, by using the WD19TB in order to use all the W10 features :-)

Do not work with a new MacBook Air (13-inch, 2020) but it works with a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017)!! The new Mac do not communicate with a screen through the Thunderbolt port on the Dell WD19TB.
really?? What happens w/ the MBA? Can you explain what's not working ? Thanks!
I had this same issue. I accidentally found a fix for this. Here is the hack
1. Connect both monitor(1. via HDMI/Displayport, 2. Via type-c port)
2. Unplug dock from MBP
3. Switch off main monitor(One connected via HDMI/Displayport)
4. Plug dock toMBP and wait until you get a output in second monitor(connected via type-c)
5. Then switch on first monitor and wait
voila
Does anyone tried this model with an iMac 2019? Or any other Mac with Catalina?
@@smokebelch2010 Hi! I'm looking to buy WD19TB for this exact setup. Are your screens running at 60Hz? What exact adapter USB-C to DP did you use?
