I've used Waverly brand from Walnart for 3 different projects. I love it. Those small containers are great for those small projects too. Don't have so much left over either. You can use it like it is or add water to have a whitewash effect. So easy and low priced.

Pull the drawers out altogether and then paint them. Painted drawers while still in the cabinet may stick together and have to be prized apart. My ex husband learnt that lesson.
Pried and learned. Also...she did all that. It just didn't make the video cut. How do I know? While she was waxing, she opened the doors and they didnt stick

So helpful...I've been out of painting 4 ages now as I've injured my back...but that hasn't stopped me from aquiring pieces to paint...! It's wierd because mind just works the same,everymorning think of all the places I want to go, things to do etc...Then I try and move,within minutes I feel like a bus is parked on my back !! &I'm going nowhere...but I think I've devised a "Sit down' method of painting...Paint arriving 2moro and I cant wait..Thanks for inspiring..

The water tip is fantastic. I never knew paint for furniture was that versatile. It’s much like acrylic paint. I’m watching your vids for help as I’ve got a nest of 3 tables to paint. For the tops I’m going for different themes . One will be arty with old world pictures on. Another will be a map and I’m not sure about the other one, I’m thinking maybe Victorian decoupage? You’re so amazing at what you do and it’s a real pleasure watching your videos. Thankyou xx
thank you so much for this video. so helpful. i used chalk paint for the first time on a small yard sale table. i used annie sloan paint and an annie sloan brush...very expensive. but for my second piece i ordered natural bristle brushes and home decor (couldn't find the color i wanted in the Waverly brand) chalk paint from amazon. So much less expensive and i was totally satisfied. same with the wax. again...helpful and saved me a lot of money.

Wow! That's amazing and so inspiring. I have a cheap small armoire that will fit perfectly in my new kitchen (my husband hates it and thinks it's junk. He may be right, but I think I can improve it until we find the perfect piece). While watching this, I got an idea for my chalk paint project. The house comes with a large kitchen island that has legs painted chalk paint in blue, and the previous owner left behind the unused chalk paint. I'm going to use the soft blue on the insides of the armoire, and then paint the outside the linen white that I've planned. You have me excited to start tomorrow.

Beautiful ! I’ve been wanting to do my first DIY piece for awhile now. Yours is one oh the only RUclips videos I’ve watched so far and it was very helpful ! So good to know it’s hard to mess up really bad when chalk painting ..🙂. Seems pretty forgiving. Doesn’t seem as daunting as it once did. Now I have to just DO it, as Nike says ! Thank you for watching! The wax is not difficult at all! I would go recommend the magnolia homes clear wax because it’s so smooth and goes on very easy, great for a beginner! But really they would all work well!

Thank you! I just went through a grand ole time completely sanding down my bathroom cabinets because I was going to stain them navy blue. Ended up making some mistakes and was unhappy with how they looked. Have been researching chalk paint and decided to take this route instead. I used the Behr and they made the exact color I wanted and I'm already much happier with the result. Great video. I wanna try the dark wax for an antiqued look. We'll see how it turns out. :)
Little Neko wow that’s great! I’m glad you found chalk paint lol. Remember to always apply clear wax before using dark wax! It is pretty awesome you can get behr chalk paint locally and they match colors.

Gorgeous! I have a tall pine wardrobe that I am really wanting to chalk pain to make it a focal piece in the room. Thinking of using Waverly Rhubarb. This curry color is perfect for my kitchen! I’ve never seen this color in Waverly, goo to take this color and have it matched to paint my kitchen with latex. I’ve don’t that with the Waverly celery color for my bathroom. Thank you for introducing this lovely color and helping me get started on my wardrobe with these easy tips for beginners! 🧡💛💚

I use Waverly, can't afford AS. I would never think of using this color, and it's beautiful. I will be trying some bolder colors. Also, I will start using wax instead of poly. Thanks for the tips.

I live in Germany and we have had a total lockdown since mid Dec 2020. The shops in our area have just opened (March 2021) but many places are still closed. I really appreciate your using a variety of paint products and brushes. My experience with Waverly was adhesion to the furniture was horrible. I wasted so much time trying to get the paint to stick! Yes, I used tsp and light sand prior to painting. Never again.

Nice to see that you state various alternatives to the famous brands for paint, tools and wax.
It seems many chalk painting tutorials almost insist the top brand products are used. No doubt these branded items are good, but many folks can't or don't want to buy a large chalk paint brush for nearly £30 (here in the UK) Even the best brush a professional decorator would use wouldn't cost nearly as much.
Finally, I'm not really a fan of the distressed look, but everybody to their own. I prefer solid colour.
