As a senior citizen, I’ve been pulled over more times than I can remember, mostly when I was young. Once I was pulled over at gun point, mistaken identity of similar vehicle from a shooting. As I type this today, it’s a simple reminder…just follow their commands and drive away with their blessing a few minutes later.
Perhaps we should sign a document when getting our driver license that states, you must follow officers commands or lose your driving privileges.
Walking through a park w friend in high school, cop pulled up and drew his gun on us and told us to put our hand on the vehicle, turns out we matched the discription of some other teens beating people up.
Scary moment but we complied and were let go, yeah screw that cop for jumping to conclusions but if your innocent complying will really help out.

@@BLUELEADER78 because he drew his gun onsight and could've hurt one of us, was only till another squad car came that this particular officer felt safe enough to put away his gun. Also none of us were older than 16.

Rose isn’t wrong. Whether the woman had a gun is only ancillary to the situation, because she used her vehicle as a weapon.
The media has been instilling a belief that the only time an officer may even consider lethal force is when the suspect is armed with a firearm. Even other weapons like knives are treated as ‘lesser’ threats. But this is untrue, and attempting to flee with an officer removing you from a vehicle is using a deadly weapon, period.

The reporter obviously caught wind of it and wanted confirmation. Before I go further, may I ask if you are assuming it was a question meant to cast aspersions against the officers and why you are if so?
I'd love to know your thoughts on it, because it seems to me the question actually goes against the SUSPECT, not the police. The reporter came across more as wanting a bit of "elaboration" on the suspects mental state, as not many people go out in public with NOTHING but a tank top on. It seemed more like "hey, I heard she was unconventionally and unusually dressed in a manner possibly questionable, can you confirm the crazy lady was half naked?"

When people resist an arrest, it's they think the law means nothing to them. Until cops show up and say your under arrest, then they run cause they don't want to be behind bars.
With it being Chicago, the percentage of resistance of arrest is probably going to be high.

They explained it pretty well. She was at a restaurant that was closed for the night, she didnt like that, she acted like a crappy human being, so the employees at the restuarant called the police. At that point she is obligated by law to cooperate with an investigation. It should also be mentioned she was armed but that no further details in that regard have been released.
Further, PENNSYLVANIA v MIMMS decided that you do not have the right to disobey an order to exit your vehicle.

How do you get dragged, you don't just walk up to a car and get dragged, and in this case we have learned he was trying to get her out of the car and she drove off. I'm an ex cop, and one of the easiest ways to not get dragged is to make sure you're not trying to reach into cars while the engine is still going.
