- This English Civil War Walk of Newark on Trent stretches 12 miles as I follow the Civil War Trail and then extend the walk following an old map that dates back to 1645 pointing out the perimeter to this garrison town in the heart and end of the 1st Civil War of England between the Parliamentarians (Roundhead's) and the Royalists (Cavalier's). Prince Rupert and his troops came to the rescue of the King in Relief of Newark but it took 3 seiges of the town before the Parliamentarians took final control of this Garrison Twon from the King.
Also I got the chance to get a rare tour of the inside of Kelham Hall and its Sacred Order
If you enjoyed this historical walk let m,e know and I will do further historical walks

I have been improving my editing skills, glad its been noticed, personally I like the editing to get the cannon ball to hit the church- Thanks
@@ExpeditionHiker the cannon ball hit was the video highlight... I'm off to Newark in the morning to see many of these places I never knew existed!
@@walkinderbyshire I have a question - your choice which Cromford or Repton?
@@ExpeditionHiker Cromford 👍
@@walkinderbyshire ok wise choice, will start editing that video now, it was filmed in 4K - I followed the full original course of the canal including the pinxton arm
