I'm so glad Marilyn is at the top of his game once again and looking and sounding better than ever! Sad that we lost Steve. George continues to do well and is releasing great new music!
Steve raised the flag with pride before he left. The two Visage albums from 2013 and 2015 are an amazing feat for him personally and a golden tribute to a glittering era.

Only one Blitz Kid had the actual talent to not only survive through today but also remain on top. Still as engaging as always, sharp busines savvy, infectious laugh, sharp wit and still selling out arenas around the world. Love you George. ♥️🏳️🌈♥️🏳️🌈♥️🏳️🌈
Truth well said! Honestly can't find words that could explain the "Boy George phenomenon"! Artistically, I consider him as the same level as David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson...Legend!!!
Sex pistols are amazing seen them 6 times on reunion tours, many of the guys were part of the punk scene prior to new romantics.pity when hard drugs came into it, but they sorted themselves out, sadly some didn't.
The problem is that the all turned into caricatures of themselves. Once you take yourself (and your drag) too seriously, your appeal dries out. Old men sitting there with tons of hairspray/faded beauty/camp clothes and bad teeth. Boy can at least laugh at himself. He is brilliant and has a beautiful emotional voice and real talent. What those kids did not know was that for a short moment in history, they took David Bowies crown and ran away with it
It's ironic now that George's initial TOTP appearance was the outrageous, ambiguous height of femininity and now 40 years later people wouldn't really look twice if you walked down the street like this.

So, it stood the test of time. But come on, the way Boy George looked and the song Carma Cameleon!!!! Really great pop music sung by a really attractive character that you just want to keep looking at!

Either Marilyn's demeanor is from year's past drug abuse or he's doing it when this program was made, he's really fidgety and his speech is slightly slurred and his eyes look quite sunken.

Marilyn is disgusting, an absolute one!!! Steve Strange?😄 Nahhhh....Rusty Egan? The man who THOUGHT he was the center of the world...😄 And here comes Boy George, the super talented, a genius, an amazing artist, a fabulous personality, the one from the Blitz Kids who destined to become one of the biggest true music stars...An absolute legend!💯
George sure has the wit, he's a pop star extraordinaire, a cultural icon being among the most advocate in bringing the entire drag/gay enterprise to a wider mainstream audience. I respect him as an artist yes, BUT George as a personality I wouldn't be so sure he's as fabulous. Especially when hearing some of other people's personal recollections that show a different side to George; Man Parrish's video story here on RUclips is as every bit as juicy in revealing his personal encounter with the star - at the same time entertaining as it casts a pretty grim shadow on George as dubious, arrogant and cruel. Which may not be entirely untrue. As for others - well, as artists, each brought something on the table; Steve Strange and Marilyn probably became the biggest victims in terms of their arrogance towards others during their youth. Or so it seems. I still admire how daring these people were at such young age, creating their own entertainment which went global. And for that, regardless of their true personalities, they all deserve respect, their contribution to pop culture was immense and is now part of history books. Music/style wise, I still prefer the first two Visage albums at any time over those by Culture Club (as much as I love "Colour By Numbers", too)... Marilyn's songs from that time are enjoyable but something about them sadly makes it more of a wasted opportunity - radio-friendly and catchy but just as instant if not entirely calculated, Marilyn's own great potential as a pop star was diminished too soon, leaving him in Boy George's shadow... Of the lot, Rusty I find the most irritating - at least judging from a spokesperson angle; he may be a nice person (I don't know him personally) but from the sound of his voice, it's hard to shake off the impression the guy's a downright egoist, he never shuts up - even from a video distance, he depletes all the air out of a room...
@@antunivanovic yah even though I like BG I heard that man Parrish story here too onRUclips. (Can’t find it anymore). Robert Elms is so annoying. I love these Blitz Kids documentaries. Boy George is charming, as usual. So funny, but insightful too, followed by Philip Shallon, who is also very funny and bitchy, but from what I've seen from him, lacks Boy George's empathy. Steve Strange I never liked, even if he was the perfect frontman for that short lived fashion. Marilyn is at his lowest here, which is sad to see, but apart from his looks and being at the right time at the right place, and beside the right person, I never found much substance in him.
No. The 'New Romantic' cultural movement was not a "continuation of punk." Way to blow out that perspective! Ask the NME and shudder at the foolishness of that statement. Read what the NME said about all things "New Romantic" and shake with embarrassment for saying that nonsense. The defined manifesto of "New Romanticism" was to defy punk, directly. This has been repeated clearly and endlessly. *sigh*. What a dolt.
