I think that Halo Wars was so good because of how simple it was. you didn't have to be a micro management freak or have slight of hand pro to control all your units around. I wouldn't call simplicity a flaw but instead a a bit of a blessing. there aren't many simple "play to kick ass and have fun" strategy games out there, they're all complicated and sometimes I struggle to have fun because of that.
Yeah, the simplest games can sometimes be the most fun, and I agree overcomplication isn't a good thing. Have you seen profesional starcraft players? It's inhuman.
I will admit I'm new to RTs games and halo wars, but I have always been into MOBAs so I thought I might enjoy this, my hardest problem so far is trying to control everything at once. When I hear this is a basic RTS my brain explodes
I've seen quite a few pro RTS and Starcraft players pick this up and love this game. Battles can get really intense and it isn't as simple as most make it out to be.
There is a lot more stuff you have to micromanage, you've got supplies, power resources, upgrading your base for better tech rather than just a reactor, there's making sure you get the power generators before the enemy team does, etc etc. Honestly I'm having to give as much attention as I did with RoN tbh
did you just really mention RON!? ok im deff getting this game then. After RON anyother "rts games" are just shit. AOE and RON are the true definition of rts
Aarontor 3000 friend, don't call yourself that. as a guy who has a gaming PC,i can assure you, a 'more expensive' or 'higher tech' system does not do much for the entertainment factor. i prefer not to refer to you guys as peasants. you just decoded to own a console. perfectly fine. i love xbox as well as PC. so much fun, plenty of banter within the community. and we are not so different. our communities may mock eachother, but we both share one thing in common. a hatred for ps4 elitists. besides, the most fun games are on xbone (which sounds like a cool name for a device, much better than PLAYSTATION, sounds like a 5 year old's toy train set) and PC. anyway, as i was saying, don't call yourself a peasant, you have to actually pay for online, it is a private service for you, all the PC elitists don't realise they are given it for free, as if they are homeless and being given what everyone else pays for lol.
BrandonDog5K if you paid attention, you woulda realised i said that having higher tech doesnt matter for entertainment factor. I literally explained on the first two lines that having a high end system doesnt make gaming better, hell, the old mario games are fucking better than most of the shit that comes out on steam these days. Pay attention and analyse before you make statements.
Lol, while all those "spartans" in Halo 4 and 5 struggle with their fancy technology and new armor, Jerome, Douglas and Alice are kicking ass in their original Mjolnir mark IV armor.
They aren't. The Spartan 2's and 4's are the same when both fully equipped.. The Spartan 4 armor is more high tech and allows them to compete with the Spartan 2's. outside the armor they are normal humans though and the Spartan 2's are still bad ass without their armor.

And Halo Wars released in 2016.... The tools you have today is vastly high tech compared to before. Not only that, Warcraft 1 was the first RTS Blizzard had ever created and CA (Creative Assembly) has been making RTS games for fucking 20 years or longer! And CA can't even manage to put in one simple fucking standard feature which is Attack Move.
It may be a different format, but it was done so well. Simple advertising, (some comedy between Cutter and Atriox and then the regular trailers) and then the cutscenes, HOLY SHIT THE CUTSCENES! They're so good the contrast between gameplay and cutscene is a bit too much. But I love the game. It's more than the first, on many different things, plus, there's a lot more to do. And it's getting me into the more advanced PC RTS games, like Command and Conquer and Starcraft II. And can I give a MAJOR FUCKING THUMBS UP FOR THE ART STYLE?!
There are some awesome moments to be had in both campaign and multiplayer. One of the 'hold the line' missions was an intense battle where me and my friend were frantically trying to defend and build more defences at the same time. We also had a game in multiplayer that lasted 90 minuites! We finally managed to pull through in the end, despite one of our teammates quitting.
Can't believe I am saying this, but god DAMMIT! You pulled through 343! You gave me the best campaign in halo in fucking YEARS! I might just even have to replay it to get all the side objectives, skulls, and phoenix logs cause I enjoyed it that much

As someone who played Warcraft 2 and 3, and StarCraft 1 and 2 religiously among many other RTS', Halo Wars 2 is one of the best. It expands and makes better everything from the first game and it manages to be deep enough and have enough customization through the different commanders without tripping over itself like many RTS' on PC tend to do. This game is a solid 8.5/10.
Loved Halo Wars 2. So underrated. I'm actually a veteran RTS fan (Age of Empires II, Rise of Nations, and Age of Mythology are some of my most favorite games ever) but I actually enjoyed the simplistic nature of this title. It is to the RTS genre as what Super Smash Bros. was to the fighting genre: easy to pick up, difficult to master. The claim that there isn't much strategic thinking isn't quite right: leader powers and Blitz mode certainly have you strategizing in ways not found before in this scene.
I am absolutely blown away by how damn good this campaign was. Absolutely a fantastic story. Don't really care about the "simple gameplay", I don't play any other RTS games and it's fun enough to keep me playing. Probably my favorite Halo story to date.
i have been playing command & conquer / RA since 1996, age of empires / ii / iii since 1998, and starcraft / sc2 since 2004, and i LOVE this game. halo wars 2 is awesome. (i play on PC)
whats with all the hate in the comments for? if you like the story in halo get it, if not dont. people saying glad i got a ps4... relevance? i have one yet play more xbox. its no pc rts but its still fun.
halo reach was good with the campaign but the multi-player went down hill a bit, but fun halo 4 had a good campaign but bad multi-player halo 5 had a balance multi-player but not a good campaign or split screen but forge is amazing you can make it into your own gmod or make it play like regular halo
Joshua Mendoza Halo Reach's forge mode multiplayer was fucking insane, and I loved it so much! Playing Indiana jones with like 8 friends...Griffball was pretty Lit too
I've always wanted to start playing RTS games but they seem very complex and intricate so it can be daunting. hearing that this game is not overly complex but at the same time not simple sounds very appealing. how has people's experiences been on PC?
Esteban Castelblanco that's kinda what I was thinking plus I'm still hyped on for honor plus we have mass effect andromeda and that's probably going to take over my life so it looks like halo wars might just get squeezed out if it's not like really really good
I just discovered this channel yesterday, AND WOW. This is a great channel and I am really happy I've stumbled upon these reviews. Honest, concise, and no bullshit. Thank you.
I thought I was the only one who was keeping around a 360 just for halo wars. This game has a lot to live up to in my eyes. I dont even care for the halo series but halo wars was one of my favorite games. When I moved to PC I was disappointed to find few RTS games a simple and fun as halo wars.
MercilessHobo Hahahahahaha!!! Halo 4 had a much better story than Halo 1-3! Let me tell you something that you won't probably like: Bungie DIDNT make perfect stories!!!!!
Cristóbal Duchén Halo 4 was mediocre at best. Halo 1-3 ateast bad strong connections to each other and were memorable. I never claimed they made perfect stories. Look at Destiny. It's meh at best. That doesn't mean 343 is any better.
MercilessHobo My point is, that both companies (343 and Bungie) have never made great stories. The only games that in my opinion have had what I would call a "great" story are Halo 3 ODST and 4.
I have a copy of Halo Wars 1 for 360 and I loved it. When I saw the open blitz beta on my xbox 1 I instantly downloaded it. Sadly, I doubt I will be able to get Halo Wars 2 for a while, but I am sure I will enjoy it when I do.
Halo wars 2 is a great game. I actually prefer it to the definitive edition of the first one. The only thing I can say is there is a lack of unit upgrades which can make the games go fast but unlike the first one. Most of the many many games I have experienced have been close and nail biting until about the last 2-3 minutes. Which is a really awesome experience plus seeing 3 scarabs completely destroy a base is just beautiful.
I love halo wars, it's one of the games that got me really into RTS. Even now after upgrading to PC, and playing a ton of complex RTS games, halo wars is still very satisfying. Halo wars 2 also being a great game so far.
It took 7 years (Bungie would love that) but 343 finally made a good halo game. The story is closer to the old games and I couldn't be happier about it. Also the in game spartan models look pretty cool idk what it is about them.

As a Halo fan, I think Halo Wars 2 is a step in the right direction for the future of the franchise. It's simple, but that's what makes it so fun to me. My friends that aren't as big of Halo fans as me can jump into the game and we can have lots of fun playing it together. It's obviously not perfect but it's still a great Halo game and it makes me look forward to the next Halo fps game they make (whether that be Halo 6 or something else). That's just my opinion.
Reality Blitz is a different game type that involves managing and getting cards, the regular deathmatch and base building rts halo wars 2 is a totally other game type. You don't have to worry about the cards
As a fan of the original Halo Wars, and of course the original Halo games, I must say I sold my Xbox 360, after having had one for half a decade (at the time my first major console, and only console that I used) and got a PS3 not too long after Halo 4 came out. I felt very disenfranchised with what 343 Industries was doing with the series, it didn't feel like Halo anymore, and had these microtransactions and whatnot included to the detriment of the overall game. Halo 3 was an amazing game, with a large community for custom made matches where I will say I've had the most fun in my life. Halo Reach, still made by Bungie, was well made, but felt like it lacked the soul that Halo 3 had. The competitive multiplayer and casual multiplayer, through matchmaking was much improved. I enjoyed my time with the new matches and whatnot, but the forge mode that made Halo 3 feel so great, with the wide-sweeping community for custom made matches was gone. Then Halo 4 came out from 343 Industries, and they blew away all the good will. It was one of the most depressing game releases I have ever seen, so much so that the entire series is just another generic waste of time at this point.
I absolutely love this game, I still own an play the first halo wars. I am honestly not for the "blitz" mode. This pay to play aspect reminds me of hearthstone. Over all though Id give this a game a 8.5/10.
Henry Samson when i first played halo wars 1, i homestly thought, wtf is this.... though after playing for a few hrs i instantly fell in love and feel this in my opinion is one of my favorite halos.... same with halo wars 2
If they ever made Halo Wars 3... they should have 30 main missions 3 side missions for all heroes/leaders that connect into the main game. Make blitz cards apply to skirmish/warzone mode. Redo the unit count to have bigger battles. Add all Halo factions:Unsc, Covenant, Banished, Flood, Prometheans, insurrectionist, ect. Plus add all concept art. More air units and space battles
tristanovic2 - no, the base building is very limited and only allows building in preset areas. far off from C&C. the focus lies more in the actual fighting
ITS RESTRICTIVE, why the fuck you waste RTS experience for a fucking console? All RTS games for consoles are bs vs pc rts games(the good ones). Hail PC MASTER RACE PEASANTS. Have fun with your "awesome" controllers why i enjoy the REAL games on my chair c;
It has but not as in commderconquer ... Here u have sites of building spaces so u can't put building were ever u want but yes u can build bases and there is many bases and locations on the map for u to build on
It is for hardcore RTS fans too. I play PC but sometimes I play my console and when I the RTS urge I don't feel like switching back for a deep RTS game since they take a while. Halo Wars 2 is perfect for when I need a quick game of RTS. Wish they would make a Supreme Commander 3 for console and of course PC.
Super solid game still in 2022. I’m a huge halo fan and very casual RTS player. Only other one I’ve played is lord of the rings battle for middle earth which is also casual. I’d highly recommend for any halo fan as this game is easy to learn but still has a lot of strategy and skill ceiling to win online
Most Unique Salty over an obscure cult title the most other Xbox players don't mention because they either don't play RTS or don't play Halo games? Before you say anything PC gamer not PS4 gamer, and my Microsoft cousin you Xbox users should really stop reaching so hard, especially Halo fans, it's pathetic.
Okay then, I was saying that you calling ps4 gamers salty over an obscure cult title that the majority of Xbox players don't even care about is silly, especially when you take into account that the targeted group for the spin off was Halo fans. Halo fans want another decent installment in their franchises main series, not an RTS, something that the majority of people who play Halo care nothing for. I mentioned I was a PC gamer to stop the inevitable Xbox fanboy whining of taking sides. I said Microsoft cousin to point out that as a PC user I understand that the company behind the rise and fall of the Xbox has breed you all like cattle to take less effort rather prefer more effort from them, they're the same way with PC users. I couldn't careless about both sides little console war, but reaching for the stars with every other small title, which for the Xbox has been under marketed spin offs from a franchise rather than a new entry, is counter productive to bettering the franchise. My point was not to argue, but to discuss how starting xbone and pony slur fan wars throughout every other RUclips comment section is only making Xbox lose this generation more, and the strength of the upcoming Scorpio is totally irrelevant if the titles available aren't impressive enough to current Xbox users as in indicator of good things to come from the Scorpio with its own possible exclusive titles. I want to see the Xbox succeed, but if Microsoft is banking own things like Halo Wars, Forza, and Gears of War then it simply wont. Losing another console to the pages of gaming history because of the incompetence of the company behind it, and the pure audacity of some of the players of the console to tout a title that did nothing for the console is ounce again counter productive to it's survival. Lastly, don't use lol, and prove that everything older people say about our generation being weak at forming compelling arguments is true. It devalues the power of a potential debate to better the current situation at hand rather than worsen it. I'm done now. I just dislike childish responses when I'm giving a serious comment about something I deem important. In this case, people forgetting that Microsoft has plenty of spare money lying around, but Xbox as a subsidiary doesn't and is therefore expendable.
I'm not a huge RTS fan but I do love the Halo franchise. I'll give this game a try and by the way the comment sections looks like I'm guessing it is an enjoyable game.
How do you even know how to comment someone saying something that stupid surely can't do basic things like typing and then pressing a button as you must have something seriously wrong with your brain if you think RTS is a Board game.

Halp wars 2 does expand on RTS genre for consoles going a little bit more in depth than the SUPRR CASUAL original halo wars. It is a step up in terms of console RTS and I really love this games campaign even though i haven't even finished it yet.
the game is great for what it is, but man those cut scenes and main story. I wished a halo movie existed, if it was made cg just like this game that would be awesome.
Ive had the game for a week now, i love it. Its a casual and fun RTS, works great with the controller. Yes i have had the game crash on me..twice. But after a patch it should be perfect
I'm having fun playing this. I love all the Halos. They all bring something unique to the table in their own respective ways. Not an RTS guy, loved the first Halo Wars, and this is just like it. I am playing on normal and it takes me 30-60 min to do each level. I get all the Phoenix logs and skulls, try to do all objectives and when doing that it provides quit a challenge. If you don't try to get all collectables and do every objective you could steamroll through it pretty easy on normal...but that's no fun and requires no strategy/skill. Did a great review, best out of any I have seen so far. Am yet to try the multiplayer. I see myself doing multiple play throughs in the campaign on every difficulty trying to get all gold ratings.
When Supreme Commander 2 came out for games with gold I just began loving RTS games, but because I don't have a PC it's tough to find any to play. Anyways, I've been looking forward to this!
I like how they brought the falcon back and you can argue all you want that the nightingale isn't a falcon but that is a falcon design and it's how the falcon should be used realistically
Coming at this over a year late, and as a PC RTS veteran, the game is still pretty light in the depth of play. However, the game is still fun and runs/looks amazing at 4K(yes I play on PC with friends on Xbox). Its a great game if you want to play with friends who are primarily on console.
Using Atriox's eradication on someone's entire army is just so satisfying. The changes from the first game are actually refreshing, and I honestly didn't expect halo wars 2 to be so great. The simplicity of the game is nice, since it is designed for the console. If you liked the first one, buying halo wars 2 is an easy decision. (Just watch out for Anders and her damn sentinels)
Before you buy, wait for the price to go down. It's inevitable especially for an RTS. Wouldn't be surprised to see this for at least $40 within the next two months.
It looks like pretty good RTS. It is fitting for Halo. The multiplayer in Halo is at it's core a simplistic arena shooter, that still manages to carry an insane amount of depth. This could be summed up the same way a simplistic arena RTS. BTW this type of simplicity is a very good thing when considering COMPETITIVE ARENA multiplayer.
top 3 reviews i wait on if im iffy on buying a game in no particular order: 1.ACG 2.Angry Joe 3.gameranx You guys are awesome. The gaming docu's are dope too.
This is a very good game. I grinded halo wars 1 on the 360 for years when I was younger. Then I went on to buy a PS4 and build a pc. But after years of boring releases from PS4, this game is what got me to buy and keep the Xbox one I have now and sell my PS4. Solid rts with great gameplay (my favorite) and I've played many on pc
Probably best for more casual RTS/Halo fans.
gameranx dont know anything about halo but im on pc and like rts like AOE and EE and do u think i should get it???
nice vid
gameranx PLEASE can you guys do Ghost Recon Wildlands Pls
my windows tablet can run this game at the lowest settings LEL

Good thing I'm a console peasant, and not spoiled by PC RTS, so I can enjoy Halo Wars 2's simple mechanics!

Lol, while all those "spartans" in Halo 4 and 5 struggle with their fancy technology and new armor, Jerome, Douglas and Alice are kicking ass in their original Mjolnir mark IV armor.
Well Spartan IIs are on the same level as Spartan IVs. The only difference is that out of the armor Spartan IIs are still bad ass.
Jose Delgado Spartan 2s are more supior to the 4s
all that being trained from 6 year old in militairy tactics and combat. probably makes them suprior

What made warcraft so fun was its simplicity. Simple RTS games do have a place in this world.

Halo wars 2 is legit!!! I am absolutely loving it, so glad i got the ultimate edition to play early. Only 10 achievements left to complete!

Halo Wars is getting a lot of hate, like it's ok to dislike the game but to act like this one game ruins the console, like what the fuck?
Yeah, that's just the Playstation fanboys.
The Beast I agree
or maybe people that have an opinion, dont talk out of your ass beast
If you say that a console is shit because of a single game you don't like the look of, chances are you're a fanboy for the alternative console.
I was referring to this part "but to act like this one game ruins the console, like what the fuck?"
Jacob Helmick the lack of exclusives does.

Justin Kunz skirmish i believe.
yes there is
Justin Kunz yes I pre ordered ultimate edition there is lots of offline content were u can play against bots if u liked first game u will love this one
Justin Kunz yea and theres a firefight mode thats offline but there is no blits vs bots yet
Same here, I used to play the original all the time. Little Caesars and Halo is love

Dunno why people pay for shitty microtransactions in a AAA release, that like saying cancer is good.
It only took them 7 years to finally make a new and actually good Halo game.
i have been playing command & conquer / RA since 1996, age of empires / ii / iii since 1998, and starcraft / sc2 since 2004, and i LOVE this game. halo wars 2 is awesome. (i play on PC)
Horizon before you buy coming soon?
It's too late. Everyone has already bought it.
They typically try to get the game through normal means (i.e. buying on release day) unless they get sent a copy. I'm sure they'll do one on release.
whats with all the hate in the comments for? if you like the story in halo get it, if not dont. people saying glad i got a ps4... relevance? i have one yet play more xbox. its no pc rts but its still fun.
***** every community has a small number of ppl that are, doesnt give anyone the right to berate someone because of what they like.
You dont honestly believe they make up the majority do you? Out of millions of fans? Im a huge halo fan but im not like them.
id like halo wars 2 to run at 30 frps and have 2X more things on-screen
I wouldn't mind 30fps, doesn't bother me in Hw1
Me being a halo fan and played hole wars 2 demo and I really like it
I respect Xbox players coming from a lifetime PlayStation user and was a fan of halo myself but what happened after halo 3?
halo reach was good with the campaign but the multi-player went down hill a bit, but fun
halo 4 had a good campaign but bad multi-player
halo 5 had a balance multi-player but not a good campaign or split screen but forge is amazing you can make it into your own gmod or make it play like regular halo
it went to shit
Joshua Mendoza Halo Reach's forge mode multiplayer was fucking insane, and I loved it so much! Playing Indiana jones with like 8 friends...Griffball was pretty Lit too
George Kush why didn't you think I said it was fun
Joshua Mendoza I never said you didn't think it was fun?
pls bring back flood 343, that's all I need. I miss the suspense of the old days when halo levels were spiced up with different enemies and scenarios.
I've always wanted to start playing RTS games but they seem very complex and intricate so it can be daunting. hearing that this game is not overly complex but at the same time not simple sounds very appealing. how has people's experiences been on PC?
I played the hell outta the first Halo Wars! Loved that a sequel finally happened!
I have enough money to get the game but I wanna know everything before I buy it!
Great video, honestly this series helps out a lot and I can't wait to see more.
Not the biggest halo fan and didn't play halo wars 1 but I use to absolutely love age of empires. Do you think it's worth 60 bucks for me to buy?
Yes I think it is .... I have it and thee is much content to enjoy
No, It won't, If you are coming from AoE.
30$ or at least 40$ But it doesn't worth 60$.
age of empires was my childhood
Esteban Castelblanco that's kinda what I was thinking plus I'm still hyped on for honor plus we have mass effect andromeda and that's probably going to take over my life so it looks like halo wars might just get squeezed out if it's not like really really good
Gameranx what do you think?
I just discovered this channel yesterday, AND WOW. This is a great channel and I am really happy I've stumbled upon these reviews.
Honest, concise, and no bullshit. Thank you.
The graphics quality is higher than my uncle terry
I'm a Halo fan and a Command and Conquer fan playing on PC. I think this game was made for me. The campaign is fun so far.
Looks amazing but dont really wanna buy it for 60$ im a HUGE halo fan keep it up 343
Andres Di I do.
KILLimanjaro Unfriggenbelievable good 4 U, Im just saying my opinion
Andres Di yeah...even i (big halo fan) would not buy it at full price...but if it is similar to hw1 its sure is fun...
Andres Di | IT'S $60?!
I thought I was the only one who was keeping around a 360 just for halo wars. This game has a lot to live up to in my eyes. I dont even care for the halo series but halo wars was one of my favorite games. When I moved to PC I was disappointed to find few RTS games a simple and fun as halo wars.
Hopefully Halo 6 has a much better story than 4 and 5. So far 343 has ruined Halo.
MercilessHobo Halo 4 had a good story.
Better than Halo 5? Yes. As good as Halo 1-3? Not even close.
MercilessHobo Hahahahahaha!!! Halo 4 had a much better story than Halo 1-3! Let me tell you something that you won't probably like:
Bungie DIDNT make perfect stories!!!!!
Sadly, I doubt I will be able to get Halo Wars 2 for a while, but I am sure I will enjoy it when I do.
rts is an acquired taste genre
Halo wars 2 is a great game. I actually prefer it to the definitive edition of the first one. The only thing I can say is there is a lack of unit upgrades which can make the games go fast but unlike the first one. Most of the many many games I have experienced have been close and nail biting until about the last 2-3 minutes. Which is a really awesome experience plus seeing 3 scarabs completely destroy a base is just beautiful.
rate the games
I love halo wars, it's one of the games that got me really into RTS. Even now after upgrading to PC, and playing a ton of complex RTS games, halo wars is still very satisfying. Halo wars 2 also being a great game so far.
Damn I wish this was on PS4.
Oh well!
Duarte it’s halo what did you expect
@Duarte
It’s halo you Weeb. NEVER been on a PlayStation console.
@@youreokayboah2128 I said "I wish" not why isn't on PS4.
Go eat glass or something headass
It took 7 years (Bungie would love that) but 343 finally made a good halo game. The story is closer to the old games and I couldn't be happier about it. Also the in game spartan models look pretty cool idk what it is about them.
i had halo wars amazing to bad i cant get halo wars 2
That Gamer same
Why? If it's too much money that's cool but its on PC and Xbox so it should be fairly accessible
ITS RESTRICTIVE, why the fuck you waste RTS experience for a fucking console? All RTS games for consoles are bs vs pc rts games(the good ones).
Hail PC MASTER RACE PEASANTS. Have fun with your "awesome" controllers why i enjoy the REAL games on my chair c;
Matt Haas Wise words Matt, Very Wise words
very wise
As a Halo fan, I think Halo Wars 2 is a step in the right direction for the future of the franchise. It's simple, but that's what makes it so fun to me. My friends that aren't as big of Halo fans as me can jump into the game and we can have lots of fun playing it together. It's obviously not perfect but it's still a great Halo game and it makes me look forward to the next Halo fps game they make (whether that be Halo 6 or something else). That's just my opinion.
That card stuff is a massive turn off
Reality Blitz is a different game type that involves managing and getting cards, the regular deathmatch and base building rts halo wars 2 is a totally other game type. You don't have to worry about the cards
Cancer Cupcake cheers for info, bought game cuz of it and have been lovin it
As a fan of the original Halo Wars, and of course the original Halo games, I must say I sold my Xbox 360, after having had one for half a decade (at the time my first major console, and only console that I used) and got a PS3 not too long after Halo 4 came out. It was one of the most depressing game releases I have ever seen, so much so that the entire series is just another generic waste of time at this point.
who else likes command and conquer
I absolutely love this game, I still own an play the first halo wars. I am honestly not for the "blitz" mode. This pay to play aspect reminds me of hearthstone. Over all though Id give this a game a 8.5/10.
I've never rly played an rts but I love halo. Do you think I would enjoy it?
Yes I think u will ... And if u like strategy ... It's a +
halo wars is great for non rts players.
Henry Samson he is a simple rts, very easy to learn...i guess u should try it...but not now at full price...
Henry Samson when i first played halo wars 1, i homestly thought, wtf is this.... though after playing for a few hrs i instantly fell in love and feel this in my opinion is one of my favorite halos.... same with halo wars 2
Thx for the advice I think it's looks rly good but I'll wait a little bit until the price drops some just so it's not too much of a gamble
Does HW2 have base building like Command&Conquer?
tristanovic2 - no, the base building is very limited and only allows building in preset areas. far off from C&C. the focus lies more in the actual fighting
Ok thanks.
ITS RESTRICTIVE, why the fuck you waste RTS experience for a fucking console? All RTS games for consoles are bs vs pc rts games(the good ones).
Hail PC MASTER RACE PEASANTS. Have fun with your "awesome" controllers why i enjoy the REAL games on my chair c;
It has but not as in commderconquer ... Here u have sites of building spaces so u can't put building were ever u want but yes u can build bases and there is many bases and locations on the map for u to build on
FlamyMind nice copypaste. you make me ashamed to be a part of the PC gaming community
This channel is amazing ,quality content I hope it doesn't go down like machima and IGN love the channel so far.
"Held on to their 360's" Well they are pretty stupid because the game is backwards compatible
I would be interested if it wernt for all of the 343 garbage
Peachwad It's pretty good, regardless.
You're the exact level of ignorance Halo doesn't need
Super solid game still in 2022. I’m a huge halo fan and very casual RTS player. Only other one I’ve played is lord of the rings battle for middle earth which is also casual. I’d highly recommend for any halo fan as this game is easy to learn but still has a lot of strategy and skill ceiling to win online
Ps4 players, stop being so fukin salty lol!
Most Unique salty for what?
Most Unique Salty over this? Horizon zero dawn is coming in 3 days. No salt whatsoever.
Kyle Shade I can't even understand your comment lol
I'll never understand the appeal of RTS games. If I wanna play a board game, I'd pull out monopoly or Mario Party :')
Frankie Dingleberry lol how is "real time strategy" the same as a game that takes turns? and Mario party is all minigames you clown.
Frankie Dingleberry and if I want to shoot someone I will just pick my gun
How do you even know how to comment someone saying something that stupid surely can't do basic things like typing and then pressing a button as you must have something seriously wrong with your brain if you think RTS is a Board game.
Damn, you guys get offended so easily .-. RTS is just an awful genre.
RTS are awful if you have ADHD and no dexterity
Never played an RTS but as a big Halo fan, I will be picking this up (eventually).
343 ruined halo.
Come at me haters.
Johann no they did ruin halo
I like the ideea of an rts that simulates a realistic approach, in their interactions and upgrades
Really? Playing with a controller? In an RTS? This has got to the be the dumbest thing you guys have done.
TessellatedGuy
They could just use Windows 10.
+Regnier575 Agreed
EDIT: Added target
+idkwmgtis
How you said. ITS RESTRICTIVE, why the fuck you waste RTS experience for a fucking console? All RTS games for consoles are bs vs pc rts games(the good ones).
Hail PC MASTER RACE PEASANTS. Have fun with your "awesome" controllers why i enjoy the REAL games on my chair c;
try playing starcraft on a N64
Have you even tried it yet
Loved Halo Wars, and surprisingly, I love Halo Wars 2 even better! Never thought I'd say this, but good job 343i!
before you buy : don't buy, it's shit
You haven't played it have you?
scj 95 it's actually amazing lmfao. Especially for console.
scj 95 PlayStation fan?
How you said. ITS RESTRICTIVE, why the fuck you waste RTS experience for a fucking console? All RTS games for consoles are bs vs pc rts games(the good ones).

FlamyMind could you not keep copying and pasting this bullshit comment, why do you care about the opinions of others?
Halp wars 2 does expand on RTS genre for consoles going a little bit more in depth than the SUPRR CASUAL original halo wars. It is a step up in terms of console RTS and I really love this games campaign even though i haven't even finished it yet.
its an RTS game.... thats why u dont buy it lol
FearKV so you hate a game where you have to learn a certain skill set, ok 👌
FearKV Ah I see, you are lacking in skill and patience.
You have to have a certain level of entelligince to enjoy these games.
"entelligince"
HK47 Grizzlybeer intelligence* dumbass
the game is great for what it is, but man those cut scenes and main story. I wished a halo movie existed, if it was made cg just like this game that would be awesome.
wtf is halo?
idk
troll comment gee thanks
Sophia Watkins A legend.
Do you live under a FUCKING ROCK
Flame Party 7.0 never owned a xbox in my life thats why
Big fan of Civ on PC, absolutely loved Halo Wars 2. Only played the campaign, trying Blitz and MP later on.
Ive had the game for a week now, i love it. Its a casual and fun RTS, works great with the controller. Yes i have had the game crash on me..twice. But after a patch it should be perfect
I liked the first halo wars when I was younger and it was like training wheels for me before I played command and conquer
Great RTS game and as a huge halo fan I love the story and Atrotix is awesome hope we can fight him in 1st person in Halo 6!
I haven't picked up a halo game since 3, so I felt a little Captain Cutter jumping into one again.
(Just watch out for Anders and her damn sentinels)
when i saw this game was coming out i was so hyped, i played around 400-500 hours on the original on the 360 so I'm excited to get my hands on a copy
Surprisingly the story was pretty damn good
Love the new (old) art style
I hope the next thing 343 Can do is make a classic halo game
I absolutely love halo wars 2
I didn't even know they were making a part 2. I loved the first one. I'm really excited to check this game out!
Before you buy, wait for the price to go down. It's inevitable especially for an RTS. Wouldn't be surprised to see this for at least $40 within the next two months.
this comment didn't age well lmao, three later and the price is still about 50 bucks :(
It looks like pretty good RTS. It is fitting for Halo. The multiplayer in Halo is at it's core a simplistic arena shooter, that still manages to carry an insane amount of depth. This could be summed up the same way a simplistic arena RTS.
BTW this type of simplicity is a very good thing when considering COMPETITIVE ARENA multiplayer.
top 3 reviews i wait on if im iffy on buying a game in no particular order:
1.ACG
2.Angry Joe
3.gameranx
You guys are awesome. The gaming docu's are dope too.
Christopher Polanco I fucking hate angry joe
TigerGaming_117 _ Why?
This is a very good game. I grinded halo wars 1 on the 360 for years when I was younger. Then I went on to buy a PS4 and build a pc. But after years of boring releases from PS4, this game is what got me to buy and keep the Xbox one I have now and sell my PS4. Solid rts with great gameplay (my favorite) and I've played many on pc
