The bits in ghost files make this show so amazing. Shane and Ryan saying random shit is the highlight of the show. Don't get rid of the bits
Fr, I would watch 3 hours of “boring” footage of ghost hunts. I really feel like they need to listen to the fans and not be perfectionist!! We want the stuff they see as boring tbh lol. I’d love to see them set up at locations and discuss random stuff, or even talking in between ghost hunting moments
Igy and I love them but it can get a bit chaotic and repetitive if they are always channeling their chaotic energy. Like I love their banter, dont get me wrong, but I am also here for a ghost hunt and would appreciate a better balance. Because like they said, they'd have 10 seconds of silence which isn't enough imo. I love their jokes but sometimes the screaming is a bit much if its constant. This isn't hate, just an opinion based on comparing buzzfeed unsolved and ghost files
@@emmawills4112not necessarily Ghost Files specific, but I've thought this since the start of Watcher. Everyone in this company is entertaining enough that they could put out filler content of them just talking about nonsense and it'd still be entertaining and I'd watch every minute.

@@jessw391 I agree. Especially for Mystery Files. I really enjoy when they’re calmer like they were in Unsolved instead of constant ‘bits’ and jokes. Thats why I’ve never watched more than a few minutes of puppet history. It’s too scream-y for me lol. Of course we love when they joke around, but I prefer when they’re more speculative and serious for mystery files. LOVE these boys no matter what though!

I do believe Liz is describing retail therapy... totally relatable! I practice having control by shopping online, but only put things into carts. I'll wait 24 hours before purchasing. 9 times out of 10 I never return to the cart, but I know I really want it if I go back.
haha what i do is get really into the research and reviews and and brand and price comparison. then i bookmark my final pick in my browser, and then a month or whenever later if i remember it again and look it up and want it, i usually get it

The pajama convo had me rolling lmaoooo I also go to bed in a full sweatsuit Steven don’t worry also our feet regulate our body temp so when I’m cold I put socks on and when I’m overheating they’re the first to go AND IT WORKS
I feel the podcast becomes Steven’s therapy session and he can discuss his stressors each time
I used to work as a hostess at Olive Garden and have seen multiple wedding parties walk in. After the pandemic, many locations stopped reservations so yeah those brides were stuck waiting 45 min to an hour to eat our mediocre breadsticks for their wedding.
My new trick for gift giving is to buy gifts throughout the year and stock up. Set time aside to peruse a store when doing your own shopping, and see if anything pops out at you that reminds you of someone in your life. Buy it and put it in a gift storage area. I have a huge family, with lots of birthdays and a big Christmas. The gifts aren't always perfect but they're personal imo, and let me tell you I am rarely stressed out about gifts anymore 😂

Shane saying he always likes the toddler clothes. SAME. I buy something from Gap, then seeing ads for Gap and see something I love and when I click it's from GapKids. Damnit, why can't adults like colorful things with animals on them too?! I want a sweater with a smiling sheep on it DANG IT!
The world would be so much better if select children's clothes were also made in adult sizes.

As a female with long legs that also struggles to find pants that are long enough, it's amazingly comforting to know I am not alone in the struggle. I only ever hear about how the pants are too long for people and as horrible as it sounds it's refreshing to hear someone has the same struggle as I do lol.

No I actually get what Steven is saying. 😭 I’m really cold when I go to bed and my room is drafty, so I bundle up and then sometimes take it off when as I get warmer
FYI for Lizzy mentioning that she has unread messages she can’t find on her iPhone. If she has a Mac she can simply right click on her messages app on her Mac and it will display unread messages as options to directly open. She should hopefully be able to finally find and clear them that way

For all the stress Shane felt about being the middle and feeling the responsibility of hosting or mediating (which, hard relate), he did end up being sort of the bona fide host this episode and did a great job!
Also, looove the vibe that Steven and Shane have when it's the two of them, and then add in Lizzie who is a really good conversationalist on a wide variety of topics and also a perfect companion to Shane's bits with them bouncing off of each other's "yes-and's" just makes for a wonderful episode!
Sean is the reason I love 50 First dates as well! He is so funny. 😂
Best idea I've heard lately! Please, make an episode of ghost files in black and white - like a silent movie with dialogue cards.

I'm glad I'm not alone in my hatred of shopping and gift giving. I absolutely loathe having to buy gifts for people so I've decided it's gift cards or nothing from now until I die.
For stocking stuffers, I kind of collect little things throughout the year. Stressing out because of time pressure makes my mind go blank (esp in Dec), so it's easier to just grab little things I know they will like/use when I come across it. Sometimes it's larger things (concert tickets) and sometimes it's tiny things (crystalized honey from a local spice shop). Terry's (dark) chocolate orange is a must as well! World Market has fun little trinkets for stockings around the holidays especially. I also am lucky that I live in an area that has a ton of craft fairs and markets, so I often find cute little things there. If the person you are buying for has a Christmas tree, a special ornament is always fun.
For general gifts I often go to local bookstores. Even if you don't know their taste in books, they often have nice journals or calendars, plus cute little trinkets. Even a bookstore gift card and a lovely bookmark! I just got a friend a gift card from Away so she can choose her own suitcase, but got her a customized luggage tag as a part of the gift so she had something tangible to open (besides just a gift card). Another thing I will do is get small souvenirs when I travel that can double as gifts later on, such as tea towels, or locally made crafts.
The thing about the People's Choice Awards is just that it's now an internet popularity contest. In the 80s and 90s, many celebs did go to and accept People's Choice Awards (search Meryl Streep's acceptance speeches for example, they're sweet), because back then the ballots were sent in the mail. But now the winners are always going to be who the younger generation loves in that given year, so it's understandable that celebrities who have no chance to win don't see a point in going.
I’m so happy I wasn’t the only one who agrees that the bits need to stay! I was so happy to see Lizzie on but please Lizzie don’t discourage Shane and Ryan’s shenanigans!!
I have never related to someone more than Lizzie reacting to Steven’s psychopathic sleep habits
My comfort show is Downton Abbey. I couldn’t tell you why, but I can watch it over and over.
Same...i rewatch it about every 6mos & it just never gets old. My husband inevitably will hear the theme music & pop in with his usual, "didn't you just watch this?!"
I usually crochet while binging Watcher and got so excited for Lizzie to mention the Woobles! 😭💖 I haven’t tried one of their kits, but I love that more people are learning a craft I care deeply about.

Def with Lizzie on this one, Walking Dead is probably a top 5 comfort show for me, especially the first few seasons! Imo it just falls off in the end. But right now there's a spin-off about Rick and Michonne coming out called "The Ones Who Live" and they really stepped it up quality-wise, I'd totally reccommend it to anyone who enjoys a good horror romance haha

the sopranos is just amazing. the psychology of the show is legit too. ive analyzed things in my own life because of it. i definitely recommend watching the 'talking sopranos' video podcast of it. its so funny watching steve and michael interview the actors from the shows episodes. they all seem like such nice ppl too. its a national tragedy that we lost james gandolfini at such a young age. 😢
my one tip for gift giving is to just do it year round - i get super stressed if i wait until the last couple of weeks and am put on the spot to think of something, but if i see something i think someone will like and just buy it and squirrel it away until the next holiday all the shopping is done already :)
I dislike shopping too, i have to do a ton of research before I can decide and I really think about whether I actually need it. Oh and I don't do gifts. Giving or receiving, unless it's food.
As a brit, I was so confused by the olive garden breadstick hype (i kept hearing about it online. It wasn't until my mid 20s that I find out that american breadsticks are very different to ours!
I love this podcast so much! Everyone is genuinely kind and funny!
On Gifts:
I always find the ones I like the best are things that are useful that I just don't think to buy for myself (because I am interested in certain areas and don't devote my resources to other areas).
The best present I have received were some rugged shoes - I walk a fair amount and am on my feet at work (a cinema). And the best work secret Santa gift was a cup I use at work every day...
I think gifts fall on a want vs need spectrum. And the other factor is price vs importance.
I am a Decent gift giver - just trying to turn the map around and figure out why people generally like my gifts 🤔🧐, also I much prefer giving gifts...I find it hard to accept things from others but always try to appreciate what people gift me (just appreciating the sentiment).
Style also plays a big part for me... not that I am stylish, but things need to be within my wheelhouse of what I am comfortable with...so I suppose style / comfort would be another category.

During the pandemic/ lockdown times, I got really into joggers, stretchy cotton pants (trousers) with elastic waistband, a really nice middle ground between "real clothes" and like sweats or pjs

I also start out sleeping in socks, Steven, so I get it. At least in the winter months.

I'm here to defend Steven wearing sweatpants and a sweatshirt to bed. If you are cold, this makes the most sense. What's the problem here? It's easier to sleep in a cold room, maybe Steven keeps his bedroom cold. I'm here for this.

Y’all- there are a million other ghost hunting shows, most of which take themselves very seriously. What makes your show stand out and what built your fan base with Unsolved was the dynamic with Ryan, which is massively built on bits. Unsolved was most certainly part comedy based and that’s what made it unique and engaging.
