  • We caught up with Leon Redbone at the Galway Arts Festival in 1994. He took some time to talk with Eithne after his performance. Apologies for the audio, this is the raw (unedited) footage and our intention wasn't to use the interviewer's (Eithne!) questions on-camera, so she does not have a mic.

I seen him on Saturday Night Live back in the mid 70's and became a fan. He was a good kind of different !! It's a shame he's gone !! RIP Leon !!! ❤

Such a rare moment to calmly sit and chat with a very private individual. Leon knew how to appreciate and entertain an audience, while keeping a safe distance from the general public. A curious combination.

A voice like warm honey, a mind like a circus performer and the mold was broken when he was born. Miss you Leon!!!!!

Mr. Redbone was one of the best kept secrets in music, a true artist who always stayed true to his unique style of music. I discovered him as a teenager 45 years ago. Over the years his music has brought me hundreds of hours of joy. I’m only sorry that I never got a chance to him him live before he passed. Thank you Leon, you will always have a special place in my heart and ears.

I remember seeing him on SNL in the 70s but had forgotten all about him. I was watching Elf with the kids last night and recognized his voice as the snowman, and singing over the closing credits. Enjoying finding some of these videos experiencing him again.

I think it would be a lot better if you could put the questions in text on the screen. It's a good interview and worth doing.

The reasoning of the off camera interviewer baffles me..The sound quality between the 2 people blows...
Great to see Leon..but this format style is horrible.
