    Sleater-Kinney official bio:
Sleater Kinney’s The Center Won’t Hold is the first new album from the celebrated band since their 2015 album, No Cities To Love, available August 16 on Mom + Pop. After years of legendary collaboration, rock’n’roll giants Carrie Brownstein (guitar/vocals) and Corin Tucker (guitar/vocals) sound bigger and bolder than ever. The new album was produced by Annie Clark (St. Vincent), and hailed by The Fader as “one of the most furious, dynamic records of their career.” The New York Times called them “one of rock’s most enduring and respected acts” and Rolling Stone gave the record 4 stars and raved, “one of America’s greatest bands does battle with modern apathy on thrilling LP."
Sleater Kinney set a new bar for punk’s political insight and emotional impact. Now, at the height of their formidable powers, the feminist icons continue to challenge themselves, break all the rules and push boundaries. This new creative chapter in the acclaimed band’s musical journey is poised to win over both longtime admirers and new fans alike.

    Modern Girl lyrics:
My baby loves me, I'm so happy
Happy makes me a modern girl
Took my money and bought a TV
TV brings me closer to the world
    My whole life
Was like a picture of a sunny day
    My whole life
Was like a picture of a sunny day
My baby loves me, I'm so hungry
Hunger makes me a modern girl
Took my money and bought a donut
The hole's the size of this entire world
    My whole life
Looks like a picture of a sunny day
    My whole life
Looked like a picture of a sunny day
My baby loves me, I'm so angry
Anger makes me a modern girl
Took my money, I couldn't buy nothin'
I'm sick of this brave new world
    My whole life
Is like a picture of a sunny day
    My whole life
Is like a picture of a sunny day
    My whole life
Is like a picture of a sunny day
    My whole life
Is like a picture of a sunny day

I feel like I've been give a new chapter of Portlandia. I never knew Carrie was this. This is awesome. I never knew who she was or where she came from. I always loved her and the fact that she was a girl/actress/comedian I didnt recognize. I assumed a writer for snl. I just accepted her awesomeness on Portlandia. Now years later I see her listed as a guitar on some video promo on you tube so I looked it up.. and to my happiness it's true. I love when life/the Internet, gives you little miracles like this. I also recognize the drummer and guitarist, I think from random episodes of Portlandia. I was just a casual Portlandia fan.. may water everything 3 or 4 times by now. Thus my ignorance to all of this. I liked Portlandia because it seemed... Un loved underground and yet un cancelled. And always hilarious. Fred is awesome but where did this Carrie girl come from... I never cared to look i just thought I had it all figured out. Lol And the music is awesome... I love letterman's face when they finish that tune. And Paul Shaffer... "This is my new favorite band."
Now I guess some serious fans will educate me on the timeline of all three asteroids.... Seater, Carrie and Portlandia. Yeah I could look it up/Google, but I don't care. I just love it the way it happened. Cheers... Where are my areopress filters?
