This looks absolutely wonderful. Because it’s front wheel drive, and because I live in an area where going uphill is a must, is the Firefly capable of climbing hills that aren’t very steep?
The NEXT Generation Firefly is out now. It's much more Quad friendly. Here's a link to the product page to learn more: livingspinal.com/active-mobility/rio-mobility/firefly-electric-handcycle-next-generation/
What type of wheelchair are you considering? I don't think there will be any issue. You can always give us a call at 619-810-0010 if you have specific questions. We'd love to help!
This would be so AWESOME if Medicaid AND Medicare would pay for one, I use my manual all the time, but some of the time my Rotary cuff Damage gets to me and makes it hard to get out and about rolling my self around the stores and stuff.
I bought one like this similar but lil different and I only ride it for like 4-5 time around my house and is already broken down and burning after it make noise 🥲wasty 600$
The Firefly is 2599 with Free shipping in the United States. We do ship internationally though. Here is the product for you to see. livingspinal.com/power-assists-and-handcycles/firefly-2-5-bk-edition-by-rio-mobility/
i see that your attachment allows for off 'roading', a double amputee, i'd like an attachment to allow me to do yard work. does the Firefly really make this possible?

@@MrTheRalez Hi, As I mentioned I didn't buy this model. The one I bought I've only used a few times it worked okay but was a lot heavier than I expected and I'm unable to connect it to the wheelchair myself, which is a disappointment. The other issue was the brakes as I now have fingers that don't bend so that is an issue. Overall if you have upper body strength and hands are okay you should be fine.
Yes the brakes can be tough, but they can be rotated so you can get your palm over them if you'd like. Also there are speed settings on the firefly so you can prevent it from going unmanageably fast for your ability to operate the brakes. Email orders@livingspinal.com for more details!
Most scooters go around 4-6 mph, where the firefly goes 12mph. This is a big difference, as well as the whole point is to be able to stay in your chair and have a lightweight add on that can be put in the trunk of a car. Or when you get somewhere on a bike ride with friends or family you can lock it to the bike rack like everyone else and roll into the ice cream shop or store in your wheelchair and not be in a big bulky scooter with no turning radius. Alot of advantages.
Andrew Hippert What country are you in? I didn’t say mobility scooter. I said scooter. Three wheel scooters go anywhere from 15mph-70mph depending on how many cc’s. Under 50cc’s and you don’t need a motorcycle license. The speed range on those is up to 35mph. You can get one for about $1200-$3500. Less second hand. Also, they look much cooler than mobility devices and I can modify the seat to make it work for mobility with little effort. I might be handicap, but I don’t need to look it.✌🏽Google three wheel scooters or trikes and you’ll see what I mean.

The brakes are fairly easy for someone with limited hand functionality. It has 2 disk brakes, which work incredibly well!

it's too bad that this model, like its predecessor, can't be used by quadriplegics because of the way the brakes operate.

Yeah, but for that price, you can just buy a scooter.
