Was that commentator raised in a wealthy family or did he glean it from reading the business section of varied newspapers. It's a bit hoity toity if you ask me. The average pool player/fan wouldn't have a clue what it means. He also uses the expression "good stead" as well as the word "again" pronounced "agaaain" and "a la" butchering the pronunciation as "e la". He comes across as phony, self important and pompous by choosing to express himself in this way. Relatively speaking his audience is comprised of pool players who are not well read or educated. It's not all bad however, he obviously loves the game and is genuinely excited. Watching Earl play, especially during his prime, is comparable to watching Larry Bird make game winning shot after game winning shot. Nobody like him in my opinion. Cheers
