Great review! When i worked with the homeless olive garden was one of the few restaurants that would bring us huge pans of food...always loved their food.
I hate it when u work at a restaurant and they have a ton of food left over. With so much food going into the trash I don’t know why they don’t call these homeless shelters up and tell them that they leftovers do they want to send someone over to pick it up? And if they don’t pick it up before all the employees leave then throw it away.
@ditackett unfortunately in some restaurants employee's were cooking too much so that there would be food left over at the end of night to take home...so they stopped and then some restaurants got sued for giving out food ..so most restaurants have nixed both policies
I watched the Cracker Barrel episode and now this one. I did not know that they had such a thing. I’m a widow but I like eating good food but it’s hard cooking for 1. These would be ideal for someone like me! Thank you for the info. God Bless!

If this is a limited time deal, I’d be there every night filling my freezer, it’s a restaurant quality meal for 2 for $6, $3 each.

My OG go-to order is their lunch Soup, Salad & Breadsticks with a Take Home of 5 Cheese Ziti. Yum Yum! I always request 1 extra salad dressing and 2 extra breadsticks (not a side order of breadsticks). You can't beat it for the $, and it tastes great! This is shared by 2 ppl and we get 2 meals from it. Great review! I 100% agree! 👍
I like the soup, salad, & breadsticks too. At our restaurant, you can get any “seconds” to go. They will give you a full soup, salad, and 2 breadsticks. Whole fresh serving!!

This is my first time seeing your channel and I will check out the rest of your content. I don't live near and Olive Garden, however I am occasionally passing one in my travels. Since I am alone now I hate cooking just for me so these meals, the red sauce ones would freeze really well and I would eat the Alfredo the next night with grilled chicken and Broccoli or shrimp, crabmeat. I look forward to seeing more of these take out meals, budget friendly and oh so easy. Thank you so much.😊
Had no idea that Olive Garden has discount meals for home. Six dollars is pretty good, and those meals are so big that it's plenty for two people to share. No need to get more than one. That's the meal I always get at Olive Garden, "spaghetti with meat sauce." Nice review you did here.
I tended bar at OG decades ago... I don't know about today but I believe they still make their Alfredo from scratch... They do a very good job with it... I've since worked in upscale Italian restaurants that just can't do it right.. Take care.
I’ve found that with the meat sauce one that it varies with how much sauce they give you. The first time, like it was maybe a 2-3 inch diameter amount of sauce they gave. I don’t think I’ve ever had them give me as much as u had here.
They should use a standard unit of measure for each portion so that doesn’t happen! That would be disappointing if the next one wasn’t like the first one…
@@jennifermountaingirl they used to have a take out of "pint of sauce". I ordered it and when I got it home I thought no way is this a pint. I poured into a measuring cup scraping every bit I could....six ounces. That was the last time we ordered Olive Garden.

He gave me a line about how different people like more or less sauce. Sorry but when the sauce can't cover the pasta, it's not enough for anyone. I think they just were cutting back everywhere they could. They had also started only bringing one bread stick per person at the table when we would eat in. Olive garden was my kid's favorite and we went there fairly frequently. It definitely changed after COVID.
I suggest you make shorts out of these take home meals for both Cracker Barrel and Olive Garden. You will get a lot of hits from them and it will help the companies a lot.
Recently, we ate at Cracker Barrell and purchased 2 of the take-home meals. We bought the grilled chicken & meatloaf with 1 side each. They were well worth the $. I hope they offer a different choice next tim.
I don't live near an Olive Garden - so when I go get pasta I usually get 1 of these to take home. I've found I can put it in the freezer and then cook it later and it is great.

Great video, guys, thank you for sharing that video. I like these videos when you eat at either national restaurants or cook from home so that people from anywhere in the United States can either replicate the food that you cook or enjoy the same food at a different restaurant location in the U.S. My wife and I live in Kansas, for example, and while we have Olive Garden and Cracker Barrel here, most of the restaurants you have reviewed to date seem to be just around the Sevierville or Tennessee area. We are not able to travel much so there is little to no chance that we will be able to go that specific area of the country. At any rate, your videos are fun to watch anyway.

My local Cracker Barrel take home are $6.00 not $5.00. Yes, I wash & reuse the containers also. I was not real impressed! I preferred meatloaf over grilled chicken. I love eating at Cracker Barrel & Olive Garden.❤️🤗😋
@noahname6695 yes that is a great idea. The Publix that I shop at recently recently went to all paper in the deli. So whatever you get you get in paper instead of plastic.
I love these dishes the best. Actually better than Cracker Barrel’s. I take a friend once a month. Go for the lunch weekday specials. Endless soup or salad. Eat the soup there, take home the ravioli and 3 of the take home meals. Very amazing value.
Great review Jen &Rich! I did freeze these one time. They reheated in the microwave just fine and tasted great. I did put in a microwave safe dish to heat up because I didn't know if the longer time would melt the plastic. If you or anyone tries this, I would like to know. Thanks❤. I just found y'all, the Cracker Barrel video, then this one. Thank you! I haven't tried the Cracker Barrel to go meals yet because I'm the only one in my house who likes Cracker Barrel. 🤔 But we do the Olive Garden meals at least once every two weeks and eat several meals fŕom them. We haven't frozen any yet, but if we do, we'll probably try to slide the whole container into a freezer bag to prevent freezer burn.
We ate at Olive Garden on Mothers Day, we talked about ordering the small meals to go we did not, but since you gave them such a good review, I can’t wait to go back and get some. Thank you. If you ever decide that you want a great dessert for special occasion, the Cola-Cola chocolate cake is awesome at Cracker Barrel. We buy a whole cake. You do have order a day or two ahead. You could add meatballs (Italian meatballs from the freezer section) to the spaghetti and get 2 or 3 high protein meals out of a single $6 platter. Same thing with the Alfredo - add grilled chicken to create multiple meals. I would add sautéed zucchini and onions to the last one.

I went to Cracker Barrel several months ago and tried the grilled chicken take home. It was too much like a tv dinner but adequate. Olive garden is about 45 minutes away but if I'm in the neighborhood I'll definitely try these thanks to you. Thank you for your honest real person reviews. After the studies I've read about micro plastics even in water bottles I prefer to cook in corningware. I do reuse take out containers a few times for salads and sandwiches before discarding/recycling them.
I did get one of the spaghetti with marinara sauce. It was very good. And I am now a widow so one of those is more than enough for 2 meals. I love spaget .. The other 2 I have not done yet but I will. Thanks for doing this. And I also w watch the Cracker Barrel video and appreciate that info as well. I am not near one of those. But was good to hear. First time watching your channel, loved the review. I would recommend not heating in the plastic as heat will break it down and you may be ingesting forever chemicals. Hand wash the containers if you want to reuse again.
Oh my the fettuccine Alfredo looked amazing! I agree with you and Rich, I think it would taste amazing with crabmeat or shrimp, or both! My hats off to the Olive Garden for putting that much more effort into their pre-made takeaways! I mean for it to taste freshly made from a restaurant, is something, and cheap as well. I would easily buy a few and add a nice salad and some nice bread.
For sure! You could get two meals under $20 and get the salad and breadsticks complementary. Have a water instead of a tea or soda and then get a couple of takeoff meals and be all in under $60 for sure.

They are turning struggling companies around you bring home 5 of those your meal options are great the round containers help . Your getting there quality and there moving a product that they own . With kids and those meals you could order a pizza for the kids and have that and a salad. and a loaf of garlic bread . Those styrofoam containers are nice but your food is spilled. Corporations have to give people a affordable meal . Wendy’s had salad bar and Chile night for the elderly but that is gone . This a game changer.
OG is my favorite local restaurant, and sometimes I do get the $6 take home meal with my regular order, it has always been good, no complaints at all. Just pop it in the refrig and warm it up to eat the next day.

Cracker barrel is now woke. They said "the food they serve is no longer relevant." So supporting c.b should not be a concern.

I just found y'all, the Cracker Barrel video, then this one. Thank you! I haven't tried the Cracker Barrel to go meals yet because I'm the only one in my house who likes Cracker Barrel. 🤔
But we do the Olive Garden meals at least once every two weeks and eat several meals fŕom them. We haven't frozen any yet, but if we do, we'll probably try to slide the whole container into a freezer bag to prevent freezer burn.

We ate at Olive Garden on Mothers Day, we talked about ordering the small meals to go we did not, but since you gave them such a good review, I can’t wait to go back and get some. Thank you. If you ever decide that you want a great dessert for special occasion, the Cola-Cola chocolate cake is awesome at Cracker Barrel. We buy a whole cake. You do have order a day or two ahead. I get the lunch specials M-F that comes with Large salad and bread. Then also order extra meal. Alfredo and 5 cheese ziti are my favorites too! 😋

Ok- we will do it. Probably will be on next Thursday!! When I was a kid we lived in Woodville Ohio. My Dad worked in Toledo. We moved to Florida when I was 8 so that was along time ago!
You could add meatballs (Italian meatballs from the freezer section) to the spaghetti and get 2 or 3 high protein meals out of a single $6 platter. Same thing with the Alfredo - add grilled chicken to create multiple meals. I would add sautéed zucchini and onions to the last one.

I went to Cracker Barrel several months ago and tried the grilled chicken take home. It was too much like a tv dinner but adequate.
Olive garden is about 45 minutes away but if I'm in the neighborhood I'll definitely try these thanks to you. Thank you for your honest real person reviews.
After the studies I've read about micro plastics even in water bottles I prefer to cook in corningware. I do reuse take out containers a few times for salads and sandwiches before discarding/recycling them.
I did get one of the spaghetti with marinara sauce.
It was very good. And I am now a widow so one of those is more than enough for 2 meals. I love spaget ..
The other 2 I have not done yet but I will.

First time watching your channel, loved the review. I would recommend not heating in the plastic as heat will break it down and you may be ingesting
forever chemicals. Hand wash the containers if you want to reuse again.

My hats off to the Olive Garden for putting that much more effort into their pre-made takeaways! I mean for it to taste freshly made from a restaurant, is something, and cheap as well. I would easily buy a few and add a nice salad and some nice bread.

For sure! You could get two meals under $20 and get the salad and breadsticks complementary. Have a water instead of a tea or soda and then get a couple of takeoff meals and be all in under $60 for sure.

They are turning struggling companies around you bring home 5 of those your meal options are great the round containers
help . Your getting there quality and there moving a product that they own . With kids and those meals you could order a pizza for the kids and have that and a salad. and a loaf of garlic bread . Those styrofoam containers are nice but your food is spilled.
Corporations have to give people a affordable meal . Wendy’s had salad bar and Chile night for the elderly but that is gone . This a game changer.

OG is my favorite local restaurant, and sometimes I do get the $6 take home meal with my regular order, it has always been good, no complaints at all. Just pop it in the refrig and warm it up to eat the next day.
