There is no lever to open the door at the end. You open it like a normal door. Also, there is a weapon in a chest, as well as a shortcut to the boss door, at the end of the first lava pathway. Let the chariot turn around one final time and make your way down to the bottom of the hill. The chariot will not follow you. This skips the second chariot section, but also causes you to miss out on an armor set.
You can easily skip to the boss room after dodging the first chariot, if you go into the lava area past where the first chariot ends its track, theres a room on the left with a "Ringed finger" greathammer, and to the right theres a small alcove with a grave glowart and a small ledge that if you drop down twice, drops you right in front of the boss room door.
Never needed a walkthrough like this in a souls game before. Plenty of articles of tips and tricks, and a few build videos. But never this. Until I absolutely needed it. Thanks for the super easy to follow video, much appreciated
I had to personally comment due to just how much of a god send this was, i'd of never thought that I could just jump on the chariot, I made it most of the way down by brute forcing it through the lava before I looked up this guide.
I honestly believe these catacombs are the worst thing Fromsoft has to offer. EVERYTHING tells us these Chariots are deadly to any touch. And now, you have to ride it? I got to the very END of what I was suppose to do, then I had to see you needed to ride it. I'm sorry, but this is bad level design. I don't care of the deity Miyazaki made it. I just hate every solution in these catacombs.
There’s a massive shortcut on this which I found by accident! Basically as you go down the second ramp bit, you can drop through a little hole onto the beams above the chariot you ride and you bypass most the dungeon right to the boss. You will miss the wolf boss though with this method
For those who didn’t know, there’s actually a secret weapon where instead of going to the end of the path of the first chariot and jumping left, you have to go THROUGH the lava in which rolling is the fastest way through unless they let you use quickstep because I hadn’t tried that and the weapon is called “Ringed Finger” EDIT: the path can also bring you straight to the boss as there’s a glovewort at the back right corner next to the lava that lets you drop down in front of the door
So the guide is great but I realize something. Everyone who's having a problem with the second chariot equip the opaline bubble tear to your flask of wondrous physick and drink it right before you run. That way even if you are late by just a fraction of a second and it hits you it'll knock you right into the shade with taking basically no damage
@@mars188 yeah, no kidding I think I died like 12 times in a row and one of the times before I did what I said above, I got hit into the area with the shade and had a sliver of health left which showed you could survive a hit from it. I was then quickly killed by the shade but then I thought about the fact that my potion mitigates almost all damage so I figured I'd try it, and it worked
@@keb8907 you know theres an area right before the shade that you can jump down to? its right at the end of the chariots path, just look down while in the safety hole and youll on both sides you can drop down. if you fight the enemy you get an epic surprise.
1:16 You see where the two holes are on the sides of the walkway you can actually skip the entire killing enemies part by dropping down onto the wood below it won’t kill you. I noticed that you could land on it saving yourself lots of time
A bit unrelated but holy moly, this game is unbelievably huge. I’m on PC and I’m just in awe of how large the game really is, it’s almost overwhelming coming from DS3. Anyways, keep up the good work!
I've never played a DS game before but I'm absolutely loving my experience with Elden Ring. I'm 70 hours in and it feels like I'm only halfway through the game because of how much stuff there is to do. Easily one of the best, if not, the best game I've played in years.
In the first charior spot you can use a fire res liver and walk all the way to the back without worring about the charriot. There is a ring finger weapon on the left and a fall that takes you to the boss (Skip the whole dungon) Thanks to my GOD of a friend Ethen100 for risking his life exploring.
I remember getting passed the first chariot, then getting to a dead end saying "I'm alive! I'm ali-" just as I get mowed down, because I forgot it follows you as you progress.
For the first part of this dungeon you can actually run past the 2 skeletons and jump across the lava to the right where the skeleton archer is before the chariot comes up.
You can skip a lot of this and just fall down the area right at 1:21 in the video and land on the wooden beam that lets you drop down onto the chariot. I fell by accident and when I landed on the beam and saw the empty chariot below me I heard that little "link opening a treasure chest in zelda" sound play in my head.
I wouldn’t have finished this if it weren’t for you. Worst dungeon in the game so far and I’m 50 hours in and level 70. So I’ve been to a few dungeons.
if you guys grab a dagger with quickstep you can slide through the lava past the first chariot and go right at the end, there will be a hole dropping you in front of the boss door.
I completed this dungeon so many times using quickstep that I thought that was the intended solution. I would've never figured out the solution if it wasn't for elden ring reforged mod which changed lava to basically prevent you from quickstepping over it. I had to look for a guide and found this. Thank you so much for making this guide, it is informative, yet brief. Everything a good guide needs to be.
I've died so many more times in this damn dungeon, trying to figure out where the hell to go, then from fighting the actual bosses. THANK YOU for this, seriously!! The Chariots in this place have highest kill count in the game I bet.
Just did this entire area had about 60k runes on me. Died because I was falling of the back of the wheel because it was janky so I moved back onto it. Died from nothing hell yeah.
I am so glad this dungeon is over! I can’t believe how many time I died. I finally did lava challenge from the comments and first time kill on boss. Relieved to the max!
There’s a way easier and quicker way to do this. Once you get to the spot with the guys with crossbows. You need to roll through the all the lava and you can get the giant finger weapon at the bottom and a secret spot across to get to the boss room.
All this time...on the second chariot I kept trying to go through the magma section instead of noticing a drop off spot leading to a safe route. Thank you!
Margit's shackle also disables the fire breathing pillar, and the Bloodhound's step ash of war is useful here as it enables you to dash through the lava. It can be gotten as a separate ash of war, but is also included in Bloodhound's claw. Bloodhound knight is the wolf-like enemy that drops the armor set.
A lil tip but u can phase through the chariots using the ash of war “raptor in the mists” didn’t die to a chariot once this way and didn’t need to hide in the side holes
Alternatively, you can bypass that section at 1:21 by using bloodhound step. Go straight down into the lava and take a right i believe. You can also also margits shackle to turn off that firespout pillar
I have been trying to find the bloodhound knight set since the very first time I fought Darawel with Blaidd. That was about a month before I got the game for my birthday when my friend let me play on a new save file. I now have more than 350 hours in the game. Thank you so much, and have a great day.
Dude I figured out everything except how to get past that very last part lmao I woulda never thought to jump on the the thing to get down there. Crazy puzzle to figure out. Thank god for RUclips
I have to say I finally just beat it and it took me probably 5 hours to beat this was by far the hardest part of the game I’ve ever had to face. This killed me more times then the rest of the game combines absolutely rediculous dungeon
Yeah bit of a warning, just tried the whole thing and... If you move while on the chariot it may just kill you. Doesn't matter if you're near the wheels, if you move to the front even while cleary on top it still counts as "running you over." Don't ask how I know just, just don't do it.
I genuinely would have never figured this out had I not watched this. I even got to the rafters above but I would have never thought to jump on top of it.
Omg. Thats messed up! Ive literally been trying to find the switch for near 2 hours . . . the devs have got jokes. I cant believe they would decide to pull the switch from this dungeon as if it hasnt been a part ov the recycled experience. SHAAAAAAAAAAAME!!!! 😅 This is my first play-through and I just got to the Haligtree but wanted to do a bit more before wrapping up the endgame portion. My character is ridiculously balanced, current level is 206. Ive not torched anything significant so if I can do the things to make Purgatory wondrous without literally immolating the Heavens, I will gladly move mountains . . . or doors without switches in this case.
The chariot is designed with smart AI, it stops at our place whenever it sees us 😅. If use Raptor of the Must, it will not pass through, instead it stops right at our place and turns around and kills us immediately after Raptor Mist I-frame.
I just started using the Grafted Greatsword. That thing really works a boss over good when you use it with the mimic. I always start whistling that tune about working on the railroad when we start wailing on something with the grafted.
Damn man.. thank you.. I kept trying to lava walk. Beat the chariots. Jump on holes. It was pissing me off.. lol.. and all I had to do was get an Uber to the bottom.. nice.. Great guide man!!
to skip everything you can jump from the first bridge (without lava) directly towards the corner and you will fall onto the beam- I uploaded a video for it
You can actually drop down the first set of holes (first chariot with horse on) and land straight on the cross beams before jumping on the second chariot. Also there is a secret area if you role down the lava after the first chariot where you get items and skip the second chariot entirely.
What kills me the most in this dungeon is at a certain junction (at [2:40] in the video) it looks like you can go left or right. If you go right you will assume there is some alcove at the top of the ramp to avoid the chariot, but there isn't and you will almost certainly die. It's also hard to retrieve your runes if you die there, since the chariot will kill you over and over - you just have to try and grab your runes and run back as much as you can, so that your runes are nearer the next time. But the best idea is: don't go right. Once you realize that the lava does very little damage, this dungeon is much easier. You can walk all the way down through the lava in the first long chariot hallway and the chariot will not follow you. That leads to a meme weapon and a shortcut to the boss room. This is useful, but the path shown in the video nets you two suits of armor (Gelmir Knight and Bloodhound Knight).
Tip, this Is way More quick if you wanna fight the boss, you dont need to use that way 1:39 instead keep moving foward till you get to the wall and turn right (if you turn left you gonna get a special weapon) and there is going to be a little tunnel, use it and It will drop you directly to the boss in 4:53 if you wanna go faster in the lava and any lake use the bloodhound step ashes of war
You can also go all the way down from the first car rolling on the lava, on the left you'll find a finger axe, and on the left a hidden hole that can take you straight to the boss
I was reading a guide and it said to roll down the lava and never mentioned jumping on the chariot and then I watch this and I got it thank you so much
Funny thing was I watched this video to see where the lever was to open the door as I was stood next to it. Then realised you could just open it. I ran all the way down the lava lol. Great tip and shooting the arrow, lower the flame. When moving through lava rolls if back step to move fast.
Just too let y’all know, you can skip the entire dungeon if you keep going after the lava for the first chariot all the way to the end then turn right and in the lil cubby with the ghost wort there is a hidden ladder that leads you straight to the boss.
I legitimately have been stuck here for like 2 hours and I got all the way to the shade and tried to just roll through the lava. I never would have thought to jump on the chariot
I went into this one totally clueless and I've died a couple dozen times already. Made it all the way to the end, I even thought "hey, maybe I can land on that and ride it down," only to instantly die and give up on that idea. Glad I was right all along!
There's a short cut to getting down plus a cool secret weapon in that dungeon. Do not go to the 2nd area with the enemies, just keep going down in the first chariot area, fall down the lava river, on the left side there is a chest witha weapon ( the finger ring blade thing) and on the left there is a small hole which lefts to get to the boss immediately.
Bro id have never thought to jump onto the damn chariot lol. I never noticed the lack of a rider statue on it lol, I was to busy trying to not get flattened.
Great guide. I like guides that are narrated like this. It’s hard enough to glance down to see the directions, let alone read text that’s giving directions… thank you
You can skip the second chariot altogether by just continuing to go down in the lava after the first chariot , turn right at the corner and then drop down on the left side , you will arrive directly at the boss area. You'll have to chug some pots to stay alive but it works , and the boss is not that difficult as the video mentions but there is a statue of a Marrika so no worries. You can go left after u go down the lava after the first chariot to find a treasure , there is a cool weapon called ringed finger there.
I kept dying, and raging then dying, and raging again and again over and over with absolute hatred, anger, fury, and frustration with this dungeon more than I’ve ever had playing this entire game almost start to finish as this is the hardest and most distasteful place in Elden ring
Came here cause I'm stuck trying this. I've died at least 15 times. In your walkthrough, when you start running at 3:09, I can never make that. The chariot always catches up to me. I've been trying to find an alternate route. Also, your toon has no problem with some of these due to not being a cloth wearer like me. That guy at 1:45 has taken me out at least 5 times. He dodges my spells and is able to lunge in and hit me. The guy at 3:43 is easy, as I can hit him a couple times with spells before he turns around. Thanks though. The tip about riding the chariot was very helpful.
There is an alternate route that was discovered after I made this guide. If you continue walking down the first lava hallway, you can go all the way to the bottom and find a safe platform with a chest on it. That chest has a weapon. Near that chest is a hole you can fall down and be placed right in front of the boss door, skipping the whole chariot mess. The first chariot won't follow you down, so you can take your time.
short cut on first ramp. slowly drop down in the corner by the 3rd opening. there's a piece of wood to land on then drop again onto the next ramp before the shade. slowly drop off the side of the ramp to land on the ledge to fight the bloodhound or just jump onto the chariot. i literally just found this while struggling with this area
This dungeon got me so frustrated, that I had to stop and go back to gatefront, just to kill EVERYONE and EVERYTHING, several times, just to vent the frustration. So, yeah thank you for this vid!

And 2 complete sets of armor and the Bloodhound Flo summons. So yeah, it's a good payout.

Bloodhound summon is weak. I already had the mimic and black knife tiche so yeah waste of time.

thank the sweet heavens for that entrance next to the shade , I tried rolling down the whole lava hill and almost pulled my hair out lol
This is the most bullshit dungeon in this role game
not even the worst chariot dungeon
Damn man.. thank you.. I kept trying to lava walk. Beat the chariots. Jump on holes. It was pissing me off.. lol.. and all I had to do was get an Uber to the bottom.. nice.. Great guide man!!
to skip everything you can jump from the first bridge (without lava) directly towards the corner and you will fall onto the beam- I uploaded a video for it
Had no idea about riding the chariot, how interesting.
Also the boss explains why there are so many dang wolves by the dungeon entrance.
I had to look this video up because I would not quit this dungeon out of pure spite. Uncountable times I died here holy balls. Thank you
You can actually drop down the first set of holes (first chariot with horse on) and land straight on the cross beams before jumping on the second chariot.
Literally all I needed to know was the thumbnail, idk how that didn't click for me. Thanks man
2:07. You can also use Margit's Shackle to make of those traps go off
I never would have thought of riding the chariot lol, only time I needed a guide for one of these dungeons so far.
When I saw that chariot approaching it gave me flashbacks in the secret area in Fringefolk hero's Grace
Thanks for the guide! Following your route I was able to get through this first time ❤
You can also go all the way down from the first car rolling on the lava, on the left you'll find a finger axe, and on the left a hidden hole that can take you straight to the boss
the shadow literally kills me instantly every time this dungeon is driving me insane
I was reading a guide and it said to roll down the lava and never mentioned jumping on the chariot and then I watch this and I got it thank you so much
I like how my man just casually breezes over the most terrifying part
my dumb ass was walking through lava lmao
Thanks. I was stuck for 2 days trying to figure out how to get through. Had no idea to ride it. Would have never figured it out.
Thanks, I needed a refresher. I forgot about the Bloodhound knight. Went back and beat him.
wow...i would have never thought of that - the riding the chariot. thanks so much
Thank you for posting stuff like this. I was In this cave, and I realized I didn't fight a boss yet. Couldn't progress.
Awesome guide! Very thorough, easy to follow! Keep up the great work!
You rock dude this place drove me mad. Every time I got past a trap, the next one killed me lol
I'm so pissed. Didn't even think about riding the darn thing. Many thanks man
I kept dying, and raging then dying, and raging again and again over and over with absolute hatred, anger, fury, and frustration with this dungeon more than I’ve ever had playing this entire game almost start to finish as this is the hardest and most distasteful place in Elden ring
There is a secret shortcut to skip
@@SweetJohnnyCage Thanks a lot!
short cut on first ramp. slowly drop down in the corner by the 3rd opening. there's a piece of wood to land on then drop again onto the next ramp before the shade. slowly drop off the side of the ramp to land on the ledge to fight the bloodhound or just jump onto the chariot. i literally just found this while struggling with this area
Thank God this video exists.. I was lost at tge second chariot part and didn't know where to go
This dungeon got me so frustrated, that I had to stop and go back to gatefront, just to kill EVERYONE and EVERYTHING, several times, just to vent the frustration.
So, yeah thank you for this vid!
Thank you. I was trying to attack the chariots from above…..it was a long hour for me.
Big Thanks !!! I did the other one in Limgrave & destroyed the chariot & dam did it feel good watching that thing blow up !! 🤘
Thanks for the help mate, been struggling with this one , "Buaidh No Bas (Conquer or die)" as we say
