This is what leadership looks like! I have Cystic Fibrosis and cannot even come out of quarantine until August 15th at the earliest if not pushed out further by mandate of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the largest private foundation in our country that has for the better part of 40+ years focused on infection control as CF’er fight chronic infection of bacteria and viruses. If they are STILL panicking, everyone should still be at least reserved.
I feel this is our time to be the lighthouse in our communities. We do not attend church to recieve a message and a teaching to not do anything with it. We are not without a church, 1 hour a week inside a building is not all church is. WE are made for more!! Lets all be kind and patient, pray for guidance and wisdom to what He may be calling you to do during this time! #madeformore
I have to say that I really enjoy the online services. I don’t have to feel left out or alone. I know this feeling is my own problem. Everyone I have interacted with at Central Christian has been wonderful. I wonder if it would possible to have mentors for new people so we don’t feel alone in a room with several hundred people. Love this church and it’s message.
I miss Church so much, but Pastor Cal youre absolutely right! Its better to be safe than sorry. I think states are opening up way too soon that will come with repercussions.
Thank you Cal and the board for your wise leadership. My husband is at higher risk which will make it harder for us to be out. I am happy that you say we will still be able to worship online.
Thing I have been dwelling on is our church exists for those who do not yet come. It seems it is more likely those with no hope won't come out of fear if the normal congregation is there. The best course of action I agree is to be cautious and wait. That way the public can know we have taken precautions to ensure their safety. The other idea I have been thinking about is to open campuses only for guests. I know you mentioned the eeriness of a room designed for thousands only containing hundreds. I think such an absence could speak volumes if it was to allow those with the most need the most safety.
When we open back up, is Cal gonna visit each campus at least once? I would be grateful and I am sure the rest of Glendale campus as well as the other campuses would love to shake his hand. Yes, I am a follower of Christ but I am a FAN of Pastor Cal!
Also, is Pastor Cal going to continue these mid-week moments even after we open? I love there! Especially if I am struggling during the week, they really help uplift me and enhance my conversation with God throughout the week!
This is disappointing, but I can't say it's unexpected or a surprise. I struggle with the false choice of saying we have to balance not living in fear and being wise or having wisdom in this situation. Basing safety choices off of bad information and lies isn't wisdom. It seems somewhat disingenuous to make church in person somehow at odds with the growing online ministry. Opening up the church would not mean you stop broadcasting online. Let those who are afraid to come to church, still have their online access, but those of us who are not afraid, don't really have any choice. It was the messages heard in person at this church that led my wife and I to step out in faith and foster and adopt multiple children. We were deathly afraid, but it was the example and message that helped us hear God's will in our life. That's what hurts so much about watching the world fall into fear around us. I wish you all wellness and safety, but that's not enough for my wife and me or our family. God bless you all.
I miss the Church, but Cal is right, and the board's decision has everybody's health and safety in mind. Keep it closed for the time being. The online worship is working great for now.
I totally agree. We have to have patient. Thank for protecting many. With God's guidance we will prevail.
Thank you Pastor Cal for sharing the church vision during this difficult time.
I am proud of attending this church. I am glad of a faith community that makes smart decisions and not emotional decisions. God bless.
Love the direction that the church leadership has decided!!! Great message Pastor Cal...God has His hands on you and the church.

Miss you, Central! Cal, thank you for leading with clarity and honesty.
Thank you Pastor Cal you are right to lead in wisdom

Early morning or evening drive in church service...

How do you do a watch party?
