Who are all the idiots who put a thumbs down on this? This is gorgeous and upbeat. Phil is stupendous, and Harold's bass sublime. Jimmy and Don are perfect. Bill Walker plays great old-time piano. The arrangement is stunning. I just don't understand.
Ready for some memories? I'm 26 and I have the great pleasure of claiming these guys right here as my first concert. My momma had me in the front row when I was 4. Harold sang to me. I will remember that until the day I die.
Ashleigh, I'm so jealous that Harold sang to you but, I got to shake hands with him during a concert when he said that he had a terrible cold. I didn't care if I had caught it, I shook his hand anyway 😂
I love this song! It's so iconic. I've never seen them sing this song until now. I remember I used to hear this song on the Gaither Homecoming Concerts growing up in as a child. When I was in college, I told my frat brother that this was one of my favorite southern gospel songs, and this is the version he played - I've loved the singing in this song ever since. It was great to see them sing it.
i just love how much pep and energy the statler bros put into this song there's so many different covers of this song but theirs sticks with me as one of the if not the most iconic version
I was fortunate to see them live twice. I saved the programs ans more so, the memories. I love them. God bless all of them. Harold and Lew, we will meet again in heaven.
I can remember this song as a kid in the 80’s. My great grandmother would listen to a local radio station that played gospel music while she was cooking breakfast. I remember waking up to this song but had no idea that it was the Statler Brothers. And back then it had a strange sound because she listened to it on an older radio. Brings back many memories.
I love this rendition of this song! I especially love Jimmy Fortune's gorgeous tenor voice! Wow! What a gift. I'm jealous! Lol. (I sing II Bass and Baritone. Lol.) :-)
Thanks for adding this to my Atlas 5 Rocket writeup...all we had was radio in my growing up years. Daddy would turn the radio on, set and wind his watch for the new day. bitsy
THIS is how Jesus wanted us to celebrate His love for us!! Not dry, dusty, boring, put-your-congregation-to-sleep Sundays - join in, sing along with, clap in tune - REJOICE and CELEBRATE!!
my Great Granmother's favorite song! her radio gospel music was always on !! from "W-KY" one of the first radio stations ! possibly she had a crystal set first--

I got to see these guys live, and they were fantastic, Reba opened.. tell ya how long ago? I believe Jimmy Fortune had never sung with an ensemble like the Statlers before, or he wouldve modulated his volume.. he got so loud, he overpowered the other three.. Hes good, but no Lew DeWhitt
Still listening in 2025.

I was fortunate to see them live twice. I saved the programs ans more so, the memories. I love them. God bless all of them. Harold and Lew, we will meet again in heaven.
It is fun being a Christian.
Makes me remember riding to church with my grandmother.
I always ❤ed the bass singer in this piece I am Jewish ✡️ but I love the bass part!
Der Bass ist ja klasse! The bass voice singer - great!
I just wonder how many people have heard about God’s love and saving grace for the first time on the Car radio 🤔……………….
I green up in the 70s, and I did.

I could listen to this until Jesus called me home.
Start a Pandora station based on this song, it's amazing. I listen at work, walk on lunch to it, it's the best soundtrack for every day.

Did anyone else notice on the last chorus that it looked like Harold did something that made Phil laugh and then, Harold was trying not to laugh on the final get in touch with God?
Not in 2019. But 2025 .
What's the date of this filming, anybody knows?
Too fast but I like it 😎👍 Nice and easy works. This song has meaning.
key of G,
when it gets to "Heaven's glory...."
does it change to an A major before going to a D chord on "share" ?
At the word "Share", it goes (D-A) D (two counts of D, two counts of A, four counts of D) or some variation of that.
@@hoteljason okay, I can hear that now that you mention it....I think I was hearing a change on the word 'heaven' - to an A major (rather than the usual a minor that would be used - but that doe not match the melody note so I think I am imagining a slightly different melody - thanks
@@lw216316 Also, each chorus is slightly different on this performance.
2:14
That bass singer though...
1obxeclipsedriver that tenor singer though
That piano player too...
Facially Jimmy Fortune reminds me of the great Pro Wrestling Announcer Tony Schiavone.B.W.
..😅😅
Look, it's Bill Murray!
I have emotional reasons for liking this, but it sure is ridiculous to see that guy wham-banging at that upright piano!!! Chick Corea, come here.
That is the style the old time gospel piano players used. The Brothers grew up going to all night singings and this is simply a paean to that style.
@@williamsonmunier1 i love it! honest,true..
