Boss battles were extremely hard in this game and lasted hella long and looking back that's the best part. This game really sinks you into Spira. I have played many final fantasy games and to this day 10 is the only one i will start and not put down until I finish it. The storytelling is incredible, the characters are great, the graphics are unbelievable. The battle system is godly. Each character having specified enemies for their style was very smart. Made you utilize characters you did not like and made you think a bit rather than having 5-8 identical characters (ff8)
Same here. I would spend hours grinding the mushroom road to get my stats up and it just not being enough. After like a week of grinding I was able to beat it. I was really little at the time though, so I was really bad at games.
I love this boss fight because it serves an interesting story purpose. By letting your normal party struggle against this powerful monster, and then have Seymour show up and not just hold it back WITH HIS HANDS in a cutscene despite not even being a character who relies on physical strength, and then use his abilities in battle to destroy this thing with next to no effort, you're left saying "Wow, Seymour is powerful. Good thing he's on our siiiiiiide~"
Considering how easily Shiva can destroy him , his guards and Anima if you use here right I am honestly not to impresed by him. Well I say that now after I got good at the game. As a child I sucked and he kicked my ass a lot. Still looking at him now its hard to see him as powerful compared to Yuna and here Guardians. And when it comes to this fight I just let Ifrit handle the second round. Symoure does not get to do anything. That boss is so much weaker in this round so Ifrit can handle him no problem.
took me a month to beat this thing until I changed his sword I never raised there stats since I was a child and didn't know anything about that game, it was pretty annoying
Wild Harpy same thing here except mine was complicated. In a short way, I accidentally forgot to save my file or overwrite is by accident, so i started all over at the point of playing Blitzball. I won the first time and beat this guy, but well took me a while. Then I got stuck again at the Seymour boss in the moutains.
When I was young I didn't raise their stats either, so I got stuck at the underwater Moonflow boss :(( could never beat it, but I'm going to re-attempt it as an actual NSG soon
I believe they originally intended for Seymour to become a part of your party but decided to turn him into the villain at some point during development. However they already gone through the effort of making him a playable character. They decided to not make it completely go to waste and let you control him for a brief period in the game. Why else would they go through the effort of all that for just one battle? Makes no sense otherwise.
Cheer, haste , focus , pray and Nul shock are the best skills to use in this fight. Tidus was the first to go cast haste himself so he can cheer on his same turn, cast Nul Shock Everytime I needed and she was 2nd fastest then Use focus on Lulu to have all 4 important stats buffed. Repeat this until everyone had haste including the other 3 members so they can double and would be easier for everyone to get exp, and if any one was critically wounded to swap and continue this pattern. And casting pray after every Demi after killing the arms . I'm not sure if cheer, aim, focus can stack but I was stacking them just to be safe. Everyone got exp and everyone had an important role. Tidus was support, Buster Weilder would be guarding and attacking arms , wakka and Lulu smashing that head when needed , and the Kimari swapping when a party member was dying or just attacking the arms. Yuna casting Nulshock or using pray to conserve Mp. I didnt grind and all skill needed will be available when fighting this monster This was an amazing battle with badass theme , the best 40 minutes of my life.
Thanks for uploading. I’m finally replaying this game and the stupid game glitched to a green screen at the end of the battle. Couldn’t see what happened after
How exactly do you beat this boss ?? because I’m playing the remaster on my switch can someone comment how in my comment I feel like giving up on this😔
When I first fought this boss, I was mad for the music that plays from 17:18 to the end (entitled "Challenge"), because it sounded so awesome to me, but in this version, it sounds really "diluted" - there was a cool "dum-da-dum" that played throughout the song, and now it seems to have gone.
@@angeal4584 If you're on PC and using the keyboard sure, but if they're using a controller the only way to get that low a number is to not even try. I can get 7 or 8 strikes fairly easily with a controller.
It took me about 40 - 45 mins to beat this boss. Then a measly 15 - 20 mins to beat the other sinspawn. Though I used Seymour's O.D ( Over Drive ) to end it quick. It could be summed up to, I guess you could say, An hour or two to defeat this boss in conclusion.
RenkaWong I played this game so wrong. I gotta start my game over because of the Sphere Grid confusing the crap outta me I need a guide I knew I should've gotten the new version plus, even time I summon Valefor it lags
I'm replaying this on the PlayStation for and I had to revisit this video because I'm right before this boss and all the shit it caused 3 years ago is gonna repeat then I have some problems.
I'm curious why you even considered using Wakka in this fight unless you wanted xp for him as he is pretty much redundant here. I used just Luna, Auron, Tidas & Yuna when heals needed, using Tidas for his Haste abilty on Yuna. Oh and just conentrate on the body and only bother with the head when its 'moving suspiciously' then use Yuna with her fire or Fira if you have it abillty. Just kill the arms with Yuron when you have the cooldown. Follow this and you'll have it down in 5 minutes or thereabouts.
This is an old video I understand but they could've have beat it alot easier had they have used Nul Thunder on the party and cast Lulu's spells on all of the body parts. You could do that by pressing left on the d-pad if memory serves. Just have Wakka hit the head constantly and Auron take out the arms. Or switch to Tidus or Kimari since they're faster.
This was the boss that made me quit playing this game in the 7th grade. Nearly 20 years later I got the remaster on PS4 and beat the game.
I am currently an owner of the HD version
i beat it at 11

Same I was stuck on this for years lol
Same back when I was little I loved games like this but was bad at them. Cause I never knew how to strategize.
I hate how they tease you by showing Seymour getting EXP and leveling up, but then he never joins your party.
It probably got transfered to rikku later in the game.
I remember the feeling when I realized I had Seymour in my party for this fight. It was great.

It was to subvert you, rarely does a character transition from in-party to outright Villain
Immune to dark attack.
Next move
Dark attack 🤦♂️
Childhood me didn't know that he should grinding until Yuna got Cura and Lulu got -ra Spells
Thank you. I just started this game & this is something I really needed to read right about now. Cheers!
It took me almost an hour to defeat the boss and it's very annoying when his arms keep regenerating back every time I take them out.

MJN SEIFER Yeah, they remade the one song they didn't need to remake.
i was mad because my game didn’t save
They should have left the OST alone the original is better
They ruined it....

Do what i did on the video first kill the head then when you attempt to attack the lower part you should kill the arms first
Oh ok thanks
