I picked up two of these on figbid for about $3.25 each, then a month or so later picked up a third for free at a scion exchange. And who knows, maybe it's all thanks to the initial hype created which got this variety so spread around there is now an abundance. I for one am grateful there is enough passion for fruit tree varieties that this even happens.

Hey Ross the last few tasting vids you released as "unlisted" so none of us received notification they exist

This is a winner variety in Florida. Split resistant, and you can get 2 main crops on it in a long season. Very productive too.

I have this - from a pretty cheap cutting last year - but didn't know about the history, interesting..

$1000!!! This is an example of unjustifiable and unfounded variety hype that some people create for their own material gain of or lets say greed. That is a sad story.

It wouldn't be possible without the people with disposable income willing to pay that price to have the "new thing", but who are we to tell them how to spend their money? How do we know some of them don't consider it a donation or tip to the grower so they can continue to propagate the variety and spread it around? As more get it and find that it roots as easily as any other fig, there becomes as many copies as we need for everyone to have the fig, the prices come down; so why do we need to play the blame game? No one is forcing us to pay exorbitant prices for fig cuttings, at the same time supply and demand is what it is, so why complain? Let the free market do its thing and enjoy the many top-tier figs which at some point were rare and are now affordable for the masses.
