Susan Cooper (Melissa McCarthy) is an unassuming, deskbound CIA analyst, and the unsung hero behind the Agency’s most dangerous missions. I literally cried when I heard the song tonight at the movie theatre, it was so special and it gave me goosebumps. So proud of being a damepire, this is your year, Ivy.
Felipe Welchz the movie director faved one of my tweets about submitting the song to The Academy, for consideration, to be nominated for Best Original Song, and if it does, she will after perform it live at the Oscars. I really hope it happens, because, that opportunity would be killer for her, and really help her career!
Seriously if someone didn't tell me I would of just assumed this was a bond song that somehow missed along the way. It's so good! The movie this was made for didn't deserve it.

I agree some of Christina Aguilera stuff is great, but she also has some cotton candy songs that are so light and fluffy they make me ill. Take a peek at ZZ Ward. Delta blues sultry inspired, with some bit of rock undertone, the one with Lindsey Stirling on fiddle is a fun hoot "Hold my Heart" (mad hatter tea party theme). "When the coffin drops" is a good one, they used that one as a theme on pretty little liars TV show. *Lindsey is a treasure as well, she has worked with a lot of artists that all sing her praises.
If you tilt towards hard rock/metal as I do, try Halestorm, Lizzy can belt out a few, her sultry "Familiar Taste of Poison" (watch the vid!) top notch, her hard rock "Love Bites (so do I) is a fav workout song of mine I got like 6 of hers for my work out mix :). She also does a bunch of covers CREDIBLY, her lady GaGa " Bad Romance" one is better than, GaGa (even gaga gave her a nod)!
And there is the ever poignant Amy Lee of Evanescence. Her bitter sweet slow sultry "Good Enough" (especially the vid) top notch, her self depreciative "Everybody's Fool" vid is a emotion spiker. They always play the same 3 Evanesence songs on air, there is so much more depth to the albums.
That's' just 3 of the female stars I'd recommend. You want to see something cool, how I stumbled on Ivy was this : Postmodern Jukebox. They take mostly female (few males) voice talent, dress them up in big band/jazz dresses etc. have a back up 4-5 piece band and take contemporary rock/blues/metal etc. songs and give them the big band/jazz treatment. Ivy was on one of them.

Most of the world does not relate to rap, etc but in australia we have our indiginous people rapping like americans. PLEASE promote these great artists, there are far more than what seems to get promoted on the music award shows!!!!

When I was in fourth grade, Spy was my comfort movie I would watch every night. This song would repeat in the opening “press play” screen on repeat. I would wake up to this song. Ivy, you are so incredible... I get goose bumps every time I hear this. The first time I heard this was in the movie theatre and I said, "Is that Ivy singing... Because she is one of the only modern singers out there today that has this extravagant vocal!" I was so right. AMAZING.

It is rather strange that Ivy Levan is unable to make it to the big leagues. She has talent, voice, looks, and she can move it as well. I rather suspect she needs both better management and better connections. This is a mega-star waiting to happen.
