I got a question , Does applying for an internship abroad increase the chances of rejection mainly during the covid pandemic?
The truth is, you don't get offers because you are not excellent enough. Period. He got the exposure because, for example, he won a scholarship, thus being excellent. There's no easy way round guys. You can get 100 when you're 90 for being stratigic and smart, but if you're a 50 you will never get 100. Work hard guys, the grind has to be grinded.
Working hard gets people nowhere the whole idea of working up often than not is just simply a lie. It is about who you know 9/10 if you have a degree and work experience and someone else has a degree and connections they will 99% of the time get the role. Work smarter not harder imo
@@zeffy._440 I would say that is true for senior people in the industry, but I think for stuednts, the main determinant is still "yourself" - how you present yourself on your CV, how your present yourself in interviews. I am a student myself, and I've been through the entire application process for almost all the top investment banks, and I can say for sure that the process is very fair, and having a referral will at most get you an interview opportunity. after that you're on your own.
@@ghan7241 fair point though the point that I'm trying to make is that having connections gives you a major advantage no matter what level of your career you are on.

I’m 26, I’ve retaken GCSES, A levels & next year I’ll be going university, do reckon they’ll accept someone like me ? (I’ve also got a few work experiences on my side)

As long as you go through the mature age entry, you'll be fine. Totally normal to start uni later in life.

why did this video came out hours after i finally got my internship 2 weeks after due
When applying I do sometimes receive SJT's but I am not sure exactly how or why since they rarely give good feedback to work on (a lot is generic) but I tend to end up somehow failing them. Should I look in to specific courses or in to the companies more? A lot of the tests measure how you react to situations and I have no idea as to what I am doing wrong or how to react appropriately in a setting such as an IB or analyst role. It seems like what I think is appropriate i.e. talking to a other colleagues and managers first is not a appropriate for the role Any advice?

Masters or Business administration at any top 10 school will be the only way to get into banking as an associate. At least that’d be the most easy and straightforward way because they have direct pipelines

If its your only chance at getting anywhere near an internship, then yes, its worth it.

@@jondash2939 in order to work in finance industry you need either Series 7 or Series 6 depending on the situation.
SIE is the essentials. It's like the first step of the process. Witht the main difference that series 6 and 7 requires sponsorship from an institution, while SIE can be taken without such sponsorship.

Would suggest contacting associate’s far in advance so you have a contact that when it comes to applying at the firm you’ll have someone who’s in the firm and you’ll hopefully be able to do a mock interview with over brunch?

At least you were in a scholarship and spoke to the CEO of the company, some of us don't have that privilege.
