Gary, I think you're right to point out the drawbacks of overusing HME, but I was surprised that you didn’t point out the function's memo field where you can record each address's target and any other relevant info. Anyone who wants to use HME a lot should be encouraged to get in the habit of writing those memos.

Yeah. He says IF you lose your login email but how exactly is that going to happen? It's privately and securely saved in iCloud for you and accessible by every device you own.
With a little password security hygiene to never get locked out of your iCloud, you should never be locked out of anything.

Another problem with using hide my email is you can't send a new email from a created hide my email address. You can only reply to emails. Still haven't gotten anything useful from skillshare! Spent a l o n g time trying via emails and chats. Reseting it in an attempt means it is lost for good. I would add that if you use it, practice on something that doesn't ask for a payment! Great topic! Thank you. I didn't find it saved anywhere in my safari p.w. s.
Update: I think what happened was that I had a very old MobileMe email address that faded into the background. I may have used it as a starting point for the hide my email log on and today I found that iCloud keychain only saves passwords for primary apple id / iCloud. ? not sure but that may explain why it wasn't in PW manager in safari.

Number of ways to handle this easily. You’re supposed to give a name/label to the email address while setting it up. Can use a password manager to save the login email id. Sounds like the person who lost their login just didn’t know where to look.

By using the same "real" email that is widely available (how many friends did you give it to who synced their contacts with the likes of Facebook and Gmail?) you've gifted a bad actor one of those two pieces.
