Good photography & choice of scenery, quite decent costumes & good acting. PLUS these 2 knew something about sword fighting for not like in some others that just have the fighters bashing blades like street punks with sticks. And the slick cool plot trick at the end that tied it all together great idea!
I like how your story held our attention until the end reveal, which we ALL can relate to: the hardest struggles are the struggles with oneself !! Keep up the great work...and may the force be with you, my friend !!
Ok I see you, respect for using that old republic ship and Sith design 👏👏 many fan films don’t do old republic so seeing stuff like that is always a nice surprise
Man, didn't see that coming! That was really enjoyable. I never try to critique these videos, because I have absolutely no idea what goes into their making. I will tell you I found it very entertaining. Thanks for posting!
Sziasztok srácok :D nagyon érdekes kis befejezése lett a kis filmeteknek ami nagyon teccett, remélem még egypár hasonló filmet még fogtok létrehozni :D
My idea for the star wars fan film sequel I call the dark within its will be me to play a sith and another actor play a Jedi plus two actress play a female sith and female Jedi like Darth talon and basitila shan
Kylo Ten Thank you! Im glad you liked it! I used adobe premiere pro for the cutting and sound, after effects for the visual effects and blender for 3D.
The fan films are soon much better than Kathleen Kennedy produced films. Any one of these fans could have done a faaar better job as a star wars producer or director.
yallaAMK The music is indeed have a copyright. But if you use copyrighted music in your videos youtube will ban it OR put ads in your videos depends on what kind of copyright the music have.
Hey... Not bad. A few things I would change though. The choreography wasn't too bad, and the costumes were pretty decent. But you need to work on your VFX skills. Now I can't bash you too hard since this is only RUclips, but it's something that I wanted to bring up. The ship has almost no motion blur which is a dead giveaway to bad CG work. The goal of Visual Effects is to make something that looks photorealistic but is still what you imagined at the same time. Moving on, the lightsabers weren't too bad but in some shots, I can clearly see that you didn't do Rotoscoping. If you're using After effects for your VFX work, the best way to do lightsabers is to make a white mask around your lightsaber blade and duplicate the mask a few times and add a fast blur to each duplicate. Then adding color correction to them to give it it's color. Going around VFX, the next thing that bothered me was your use of the music. Now I'm not hating you specifically for the use of SW's soundtrack. All of the pieces are amazing. It's just everyone does it. you can look up any of the SW short films and you'll find that at least 4/5ths of the content rips off "Duel of Fates" or "Battle of Heroes". It's all reused and annoying. Like I said though, I'm not gonna hit you too hard for the music part. I do agree it's hard to find music for your films, and honestly your best bet is to make your own using software or find someone who knows how to make good music. My last critique is the timing. There were a few moments that had me in a awkward waiting feeling. Like some shots were dragged on or unnecessary. A rule to live by is, "Is this shot needed to get the reaction I want from the audience". J.J. Abrams said something along the lines of this and it's something to live by as a film maker. You've got all of the right tools, you've just gotta know how to use them. Keep at it!
Praxis Visuals Wow thanks dude for your time you’ve spent writing this comment! :D I know there are huge and obvious mistakes. I agree and I’m aware of the VFX and editing issues I think I explained it in an older comment that unfortunatley I had to put the whole thing together alone in a really short time that it effected the end result in a bad way. Appriciate the comment tho and I totally agree on the music part. May the force be with you!
Thats fair, but an open field or a hillside or a warehouse would have been a better alternative. Im not dissing your stuff, its good work here. Even the best ones feature woodland.
PaX MalombellA Well yea there is no big variety in these short movies but its hard to come by a warehouse that looks the part. Hill side most likely. But you kbow you have to work with what you got :D I originally wrote the script playing in a cave system or an old mine but I cant find anything like that. So I got stuck with a forest and a waterfall (which is not even visible in the movie :D )
It was really hard for the sith to move around in that mask so we had to slow down a bit (originally we were able to fight much faster) because he was not able to see properly :/
Grifelad Like i said in a previous comment even walking around in that mask is a challange. Imagine if you can only see 20% of your normal view or less and someone is swinging a lightsaber in your face. Like i said next time if I make some lightsaber fight scenes it will be faster.

really liked this, excellent work, hope you post more of your creative output in the future

I liked the ending. So he fought against him self and turned back to the light side... Very good work keep going!!! :D
Thank you! Try'n my best ;)
Very good! I love it!

Great cinematography. And that's about it.
Great job, keep working and perfecting your craft. Congratulations! I loved it.
Thanks! Since then I started working with props professionally so I'm getting there. :D

Immastandpat thanks Im glad you liked it ;)
Great twist at the end. Good work.
I usually hate movies that end with "It was all a dream" but this one's really good!
Oh my GOD!!!! I love that ending
Good job !!!!! Nice work bro
Nice job !
the sith lord was in a meditative state, he confronted his old jedi self and died, when he came back from meditation he began his redemption.
1:31 i have those gloves!!
Keep it up

Huha! Gratula nektek! Ugyesek vagytok. Udvozlet Floridabol :D
What software did you use for the sabers and this is epic......also I LOVE YOUR STAR WARS MOVIE!!
Kylo Ten Thank you! Im glad you liked it! I used adobe premiere pro for the cutting and sound, after effects for the visual effects and blender for 3D.
Super cool. Just came from your stop motion and was wondering how this didn’t get much traction.
Aztacsuhajjamegamindenségitneki ez hatalmas :D Hatalmas Grat!
Good job
Nagyon jó lett! :D
Köszi! :)
cool
нужно не забывать делать обработку окружающей среды и регулировать эффекты атмосферы и прочее

Well, yea but we can't really do anything about it. Kathleen needs to go but if she does she will bring the whole ship down with her.
Needs to be played at 1.5 speed, fight looks more natural.
How did you edit in the lightsaber glow and noise please help a fellow film student!
Radiasc I used after effects for the saber glow and premiere pro for the sound
Sneaking up behind a Sith 2 kill it? That's not the Jedi way!
Well what did you expected from someone who turned to the dark side ? :D
Andrew Grant Ahhhhhh. ;)
how did u guys make/get the mask?
I made it myself from fiber glass and resin.
Kool kool
Andrew Grant Great work Awesome mask !
Did you get any content ID warnings for the music?? I mean its lincesed star wars music...
I want to ask that question too, is this music not copyright???
yallaAMK The music is indeed have a copyright. But if you use copyrighted music in your videos youtube will ban it OR put ads in your videos depends on what kind of copyright the music have.
N!!!!!!!!!!!CE
Is it revan?
No
You can see the shadow of the drone at 4:38
I know. There are other mistakes in it but next time i'll be more carfeul about those little things.

Why are all Star Wars fan films set in woods?!
PaX MalombellA simple. Because fans don’t have money to build a spaceship or corusant like set.
Thats fair, but an open field or a hillside or a warehouse would have been a better alternative. Im not dissing your stuff, its good work here. Even the best ones feature woodland.

The title makes no sense with the video... hmm? Explain anyone...........?
Jedi Exile The light... within... the remaining good in the sith? That makes him do what he does in the video?
Jedi Exile: The Jedi and the Sith are two parts of his soul, fightin within him while he meditates... At the end, the light prevails.
Mek Alenes perfect description (Y)
Thanks, Andrew. :)
By the way, nice Video, very philosophic.
why so slow? Set speed to 1.25 and it's better.
It was really hard for the sith to move around in that mask so we had to slow down a bit (originally we were able to fight much faster) because he was not able to see properly :/
No No No any faster would mess it up.
The fighting was kinda slow.

All right, it's fine, I just like fast paced action. No hatet or anything intended.
Grifelad try putting it on 2x speed.
this blows
He dies....😂 he is not a gray jedi.. lol
Jedi Exile He did not died.
Jedi Exile He just came back from the darkness
