Even though Foreman suggested the incredibly risky radiation procedure, House is also a big part of the blame why this woman died, he was distracted by his obsession into Wilson's personal life instead of managing the case properly.
Rule of thumb in this show- if foreman suggests it, it means that its always the wrong answer

They never do, and yet. Rewatching it from the beginning and keeping track when he guesses the right diagnosis is wild, especially when they consistently treat him at the beginning like he's somehow the weak link.

It's not enough to be right, you also need to be able to back it up with the how and why
@@almightyk11But that’s also what House does a lot. He sees a pattern of symptoms that aligns with a diagnosis and a lot of the time just says that by treating it he can prove that he was right.

The episode showed how doctors can kill people when they overlooked something because they're overthinking and overdoing a diagnosis, leading them in overtreating the patient.
I used to watch House whenever I was off of work on the nights it came on. I missed this episode, now I want to see it. I miss House. I can't think of any show today that comes on ABC, NBC or CBS that comes anywhere near this kind of quality today.
The Good Doctor is a good replacement. Not nearly as interesting but it's a good show.

@@Sangsangaplaz I've seen commercials for The Good Doctor but I haven't watched it. Maybe it was just a season ending when I thought it was cancelled. I'll check it out and give it a try. I liked everything about House- the writing,characters,etc, but the main reason I liked House was because of Hugh Laurie. He was perfect as the grouchy, sarcastic, but loveable doctor. He's a great actor and as everyone who watched House knows his mannerisms and accent as an American were perfect. I'll give The Good Doctor a chance though!
Foreman was not a man who ran from his mistakes.
I like the talk wilson has with him, not in this clip but that talk of how to tell someone they are going to die cuz you screwed up was fantastic

the true misfortune of it was, they would have found the source of infection through a simple physical examination. The episode makes a point that the team gets a case that a traditional doctor wouldn't have think of, so the team didn't do the basic examinations under the impression that those examinations were already done and cleared with.
@muhammadammarrasyid5780 That's why if I try not to get upset if two different medical professionals do the same examination, especially on quick physical exams. Yeah, it might seem redundant and eat a few minutes in the office, but I'd rather a doctor give due diligence than just skip over things. Otherwise all it takes is one person not doing their job right to set off a chain reaction

Depending on where the staph is, it can be very dangerous and deadly on its own.

A number of years ago, a patient died in front of me. It was awful.

Due to the Hippocratic oath I’d be required to help despite if I wanted to or not
It's a stupid question anyway it's not like she's something truly reprehensible and irredeemable, like a social conservative.
The Hippocratic oath isn't a requirement to become a doctor and even if they did, it's not legally binding. Also, sometimes doing the right thing ain't doing the right thing.

I feel bad for her, but how the hell did she plan to afford a heart transplant?!
Not everyone is broke.
She wasn't completely right though. She will be remembered because she left Foreman behind. He'll always remember her and her case and if there is just one thing that will come out of this than it'll be Foreman checking over every patient for signs of infection himself in the future.
I remember seeing it on TV and being so so mad at Foreman and House for messing her up and her dying because of this simple cause. I thought her being one of my own family members or friends or even myself.
Otherwise it's an important episode because it shows exactly that little bacteria are still silent killers.
Plus how historically
important finding out about antibiotics was and for us to keep track and back up plans for those resistance bacteria nowadays.
Plus doctors need to remind themselves to always double check and don't forget about the primary care they learned in the early stages of their lives as a doctor.

I never watched House and the only reason I know it exists is the clips I have seen on YT. I don't watch a lot of tv in general and don't actually have a tv. But I have seen enough good clips that I am interested in watching House and Chicago Med, another show I only know about from clips on YT.
