    I never am one to comment on videos besides adding a like, but today I had to say something... thanks Tom for a brilliant video... river fishing is my favourite... my biggest carp that I caught was from a river. Generally, the carp seems to be bigger in a river than those that I catch in lake? So sad about the state of the rivers in this world... in South Africa, our rivers are in much worse condition... besides the normal litter, lazy people dump their garbage bags next to our river and because the sewage infrastructure in most of towns and cities in our country have not been maintained, some places untreated sewage is running into the rivers. Thank God for carp fishing... when those reels start running, it helps you forget your problems for a few hours! Whew 😅... that is enough typing from me for next few years until you do another river fishing session... thanks for best channel on RUclips!

    Im glad a couple of return visits to the river paid off for you. An awesome morning on that last session with some nonstop action. Nice to see that that 4 wheeler trail got washed away at the one location. Now its nice and quiet with less trash; the way it should be. Awesome video, as always, Tom.

    Grew up along a river an cut my teeth on fishing there. My second biggest carp was caught in that river. This footage brought back alot of memory's. And those river carp are strong fighters. Great day on the river tom! I'm officially on a three week skunk new record. Tight lines

      That's 2 questions, haha. Bucket came from Target I think. Sweet feed is whatever is on sale.

    Me too, the part of the Potomac near me is full golf places, private own places. Trash is not so bad. They clean most of the few parks, and people can volunteer or give money to help the volunteers. Specially from riverbend to greatfalls ( at Potomac)

      It's rural here. The river is a place where people dump furniture, mattresses, appliances, tires, etc. Things they would have to pay $15 to dispose of properly at the landfill.

    Tom to bad the other place you didn’t stay longer to fish it looked very nice and you are right it’s sad when people dump their garbage every where when the council provides you to drop of your big garbage by the way on your last lake what is that cable overhead of your rods yes it’s a muddy lake but it kept you happy and me thank you👍🎣👍🎣👍🎣

    I use Wheaties to catch carp.

    SM buffalo have much smaller mouths than carp; I use no larger than size 6 hooks if they are prevalent.

    Excellent videos! I'm getting into making boilies and hair rigs and only caught one carp so far and 2 catfish with the boilies I made. Just wanted to ask if you read this is have you used circle hooks on hair rigs and how did that work out.

    • @OutsidewithTom
      @OutsidewithTom  Год назад

      I wouldn't use circle hooks for carp. It would cancel out any advantage the hair rig provides. Google "how the hair rig works" and you will understand why. Too much to explain in a youtube comment. Here is a video where I explain my rig in detail. ruclips.net/video/36KSNKLIoss/видео.html
      Glad you enjoy the videos, good luck out there!

    Wth! Carp in that current? I have hope now that i might still catch some in the winter in my part of the Potomac. This is my first year/season catching them so i have no idea if I'm going to have to move to another area in the winter. I have no issues catching them here right now because the part near me is shallow and full of vegetation but very wide part of the Potomac..

    In muddy water like this do you think yellow or white boilies would make a difference?
