- The choir of Salisbury Cathedral sing the Sanctus composed by Sir Walter Alcock who was organist at Salisbury for 30 years. It was for George V's coronation that he composed his setting of the Sanctus from the Office of Holy Communion.
The video is taken from the splendid DVD "The Choristers of Salisbury Cathedral" which gives a fascinating insight into the lifestyle of the youngsters in the choir. It takes the viewer through the Cathedral and choir year, features complete performances of two popular anthems and ends with a short performance on the famous Father Willis organ by the cathedral's organist Daniel Cook.
The DVD 'The Choristers of Salisbury Cathedral' is available, price £5.00, exclusively from the Cathedral Shop, telephone 01722 555170, and mail order via: giftshop@salcath.co.uk Видеоклипы
My son sang in this. I am delighted.
admirably sung.
Beautiful, they sing like Angels.
Magnificent performance! I love their cut ruff.
I was lucky enough to attend an evensong service at Salisbury a few months ago, and this video is testament to the cathedral's absolutely stunning choirs. I only regret that there isn't more video of Salisbury floating around. Thank you for sharing this, Drwestbury!
This one very special. I like the Salisbury Cathedral. Thank my friend for this one, always wonderful you know.
Don't worry- the main part of the film is already on RUclips too, so no harm done.
:-)
@AshMills1973 Thanks for your comment. If you would like me to remove this video please say and I will do so wthout question.
Absolutely wonderfull. From where does come from the video? Does the other parts of the Office exist in video?
As copyright holder, cameraman, sound recordist and editor can I comment that - at least you have kept the quality high. However...
The shade is known as Sarum green... it's an unusual colour, but I've seen at other (English) choirs. Mind you, I grew up in the Diocese of Salisbury, so there might be a bias there!
